Regardless of story or update schedule. I don't mean "Oh, this is clean and readable."

I mean "Holy shit, hang this thing on a wall."

The story can suck.

It can be an another language.

Which webcomic do you think has the best art?

My favorites: Dresden Codak (obvious choice is obvious) 5ideways (discontinued, but very good-looking) Hana Is Not A Boys Name, and Gunnerkrig Court.

5ideways was that good? I was mostly paying attention to the plot...

Anyway. FreakAngels or Girl Genius/other Foglio stuff.

oh, I loved 5ideways. The way everything worked entirely in black and white, the panel arrangement was always superb, and the character designs were consistant and unique. it had a beautiful balance between styalization and realism that really fit the tone and made the story work.

Going to have to disagree with you on Girl Genius. I stopped reading it solely because of how aesthetically displeasing it was. I wanted to see where the story was going, but I couldn't stand the style.

Of the ones I read... possibly Digger, but definitely The Meek.

Seconding Digger. Also, Evan Dahm's Overside comics.

Still drawn well, though.

The Foglio's scenery and costumes are excellent, but the faces and anatomy are definitely... an acquired taste.

I really liked Copper. Nice big pages with good art. I agree with the above posters on The Meek.

Yu+Me: Dream had some very good art. For thematic reasons, the art style changes between scenes later on, though interestingly the style which got the most positive feedback was clay figures.

Girl Genius, Erfworld and Gunnerkrigg can be pretty incredible, but Mac Hall's art will always have a special place in my heart.

Is Dreamless a webcomic? I don't remember if it was a webcomic that got printed, or a print comic that was uploaded. Anyway, it's online, and the art is gorgeous.

Gunnerkrigg Court is my favourite webcomic as far as art goes. I'm not sure why. The anatomy is very stylised and there are definitely other webcomics with much better art, technically speaking - but GC's art just pleases my eye like no other for some reason. Also, Siddell conveys atmosphere really well.

The way that Alpha Shade illustrates the eponymous parallel world is pretty damned spectacular.

Also, the art of No Need For Bushido has gotten really good lately.

What's precedent ever done for us?

^^^I dunno, there have been one or two that I've wanted to hang on my wall.
^^ Oooh Alpha Shade is pretty.

Para-Ten is gorgeous,no question,no argument. Gunnerkrigg does have something about it,I agree.

If you liked Copper you definitely need to look at Amulet. Absolutely breathtaking.

I nominate The Phoenix Requiem.

Lackadaisy art is pretty sweet, but if you're talking about hanging on the wall — well, I've sometimes wished that Hwei Lin Lim sold prints of some of HERO's pages, they're that lovely. I mean, look at this, or this, or this. It's pure beautiful is what it is.
