There were some tracks from The Big O blind linked before, but since they were taken down I can't tell what they were, just in case though: “The Holy” & “Sure Promise.”

xexyzl: FINALLY someone posts Forces. That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the title of this thread.
Ditto. To complete the circle, if “Forces” is about Berserk's savage intensity, “Guts” embodies its crushing tragedy.

That gives me some major Air Wolf vibes.

I Yellalot: To start, I'll post this particularly creepy Leitmotif from Slayers.
Not that it's soundtrack isn't superb in general, but Slayers with no Megumi Hayashibara? This must be remedied: “Midnight Blue,” Slayers Perfect; “Run All the Way,” Slayers: Book of Spells; “Plenty of Grit,” Slayers REVOLUTION.

Eric,

This theme from S-Cry-Ed is pretty cool.

From a thread I made not realising that this one would serve me needs just as well:

To whom should anime music be credited as the artist? I'm not talking about stuff like Full Metal Alchemist, where the credit is obvious, but rather Haruhi, Lucky Star, and K-ON, where the singers are also the seiyuu (or rather, the seiyuu are also the singers. :/)

I've already got Haruhi & Lucky Star stuff on my computer - the artists being credited are the seiyuu; Aya Hirano, etc. - but K-ON is proving to be a bit more awkward. When crediting any song, I much prefer to either name the singer/s or band (the band being preferable) but in this case the band is fictional and the singers are varied, despite being the same group.

So yeah. I'm wanting a standardised way to attribute artists of anime music; any suggestions?

(Suggestion given in the other thread: list by vocalist/s only.)

I'd still list by Houkago Tea Time myself.

Sorta like some bands out there have multiple singers for different songs, why not them?

To answer your question Sabbo, yes, I do credit the song to the vocalists for fictional groups like HTT.

^^ If I were to do this, would you consider it consistent with my current naming convention? (Really, my only problem with this is that Houkago Tea Time is a fictional band. *shrug*)

^ Hrm. I think that would bug me though, not seeing all the songs by the same band together. :/

EDIT: On a different point, are the ending credits for the two Haruhi series really sung by three people? I don't think I've ever heard more than one in either of them. :/

Try searching for album names. That way, I end up having the songs together.

And yes, Hare Hare Yukai and Tomare are sung by the three girls.

I sort by Artist. Helps when everything has an artist, but not everything has an album.

It may be a fictional band, but there are people still playing the instruments and singing the songs. Sorta like how Nine Inch Nails are a band but Trent Reznor does all the stuff in studio (sing, instruments, etc.) Same with the Gorillaz (people behind a screen while the "band" is all cartoons).

With Gorillaz I would contend that it is both the cartoon band and the the actual band who can be called "Gorillaz". I don't know much about Nine Inch Nails though. :/

Different but kinda related question: does anybody know where I could find the entire K-ON soundtrack? No torrents, and if you don't know of anything else, links to Youtube would suffice.

Google "K-ON! OST" and "mediafire". You'll get there. :P

^^ Are torrents any good? The OST is contained in the DVD bonus discs.

I had the same problem finding the OST, since googling "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya OST" will almost entirely bring up results that have the character songs mislabeled as the OST.

Tumblr here.

@Guy In White: It's not "awesome" in the bombastic way but this song from DNAngel is beautiful, especially in the context it's played. And Star Driver's wonderful Monochrome

And one of the reasons I watched Junjou Romantica is I love the opening very much.

For years I wanted to hear this song again, it was the most memorable part of the whole animation for me(which admittedly wasn't that great). So glad I finally found it again.
