Maybe the genes for that work differently in this world.
I vowed, and so did you: Beyond this wall- we would make it through. So, twins that are not identical result from eggs conceived by different sperm. Thus, it is possible for two non-identical twins to have different fathers.
If Joanna's second pair of twins were fathered by two different men, and Tyrion absorbed his non-identical twin from another father, it is therefore, in a way, possible for Tyrion to be the son of both Aerys and Tywin, in a weird, convoluted sort of way.
Tywin says that men's laws force him to keep Tyrion because he (Tywin) cannot prove that he (Tyrion) is not his (Tywin's) son. I think the burden of proof is "legitimate until proven otherwise".

If you want any of my avatars, just Pm me I'd truly appreciate any avatar of a reptile sleeping in a Nice Hat Read Elmer Kelton booksOh, also, remember in ADWD, his dream where he had two heads? Like he's some sort of strange conjoined twin that shares a body?
Also, he dreamed of fire, and of dragons. He dreamed about burning Tywin and Cersei to death. When he was small, he was obsessed with dragons and wanted one for himself. But he is also Tywin's true son much more than Jaime is.
It would fit with the Lannister Twin Proclivity, Tyrion being Tywin's true son but Tywin considers him to be not his, the Lannister blond hair so blond it's almost Targaryen white, the mismatched eyes, the deformation (Lannisters have good genes, being tall and stout, while many Targs are crazy and deformed), Aerys lusting after Joanna, and Tyrion abandoning one of his families (Lannister) to join another (Targaryen), and the dream where he has two heads.

To expand upon my theory:
No, the people who seem to fulfill the prophecy won't have nothing to do with saving things. However, any significance to it will be merely ascribed by the characters. Because of this, there will be no flaming sword, and none of them will be completely instrumental to defeating the Others, at least no more so than those who don't fulfill the requirements. The prophecy will turn out to have no actual meaning beyond what different characters ascribe to it, and at least some realize this fact. That being said, the prophecy will be instrumental in uniting the people against the Others. In a sense, the prophecy itself will be the Azor Ahai who defeats the Others.
I'd forgotten how annoying Sansa was during Game of Thrones. Watching the show brings back unfond memories.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerOh, apparently There's a name for this sort of thing.
The reason why Arya stinks at needlework: She was made to sew with her right hand. She holds Needle the sword with her left hand.

"Tremble, Bellerophon, before the mighty Chimera!"
"Uh, no offence, but what the fuck are you? I was expecting snakes, lion's head, fire-breathing..."
"Oh! Oh, no, I'm just a dude with a freaky genetic condition. But if I kill you, no forensics team will ever be able to pin it on me, MWAHAHAHAAA!"
Conjecture: ASOIAF would be much better if it was written by somebody other than GRRM.

Link doesn't seem to go anywhere.
If you're suggesting that neither of Tyrion's parents was a Lannister, why would the Lannister tendency towards twin-births have anything to do with anything?Oh, apparently Joanna was a Lannister in her own right.I thought it was his head that was large when he was born, rather than his whole body, which would presumably be a result of his disproportionate body shape.
