I've long had the theory that Littlefinger was in cahoots with Mance Rayder, and that, in exchange for some gift or favor from him, Littlefinger caused all sorts of chaos in the South so that no one would pay attention to the wildling army crossing the Wall in the North. We do know that Mance Rayder has travelled south of the Wall personally in the past; he must've been up to something during that time.
Littlefinger may be a minor lord in Go T, but his plan was already in motion even then. The man is crazy prepared and a fantastic manipulative bastard.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.I was always quite fond of Robb. As well as that mercenary of Tyrion's whose name escapes me at the moment. Did the Hound ever get a POV?
Bron! He is awesome. I'd like to see a Hound POV (since no way in hell is he actually dead).

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Honestly, I'm kinda torn on Clash of Kings. My first impression is that it's not as good as the first and third, due to Jon and Dany's chapters sucking, plus Jamie and Littlefinger basically being no-shows.
On the other hand, it has so many great moments to make up for these; Tyrion ruling like a boss, Arya as the ghost in the castle, Theon's decent into hopelessness, Catelyn having half-decent chapters. And of course, the mindblowingly epic battle of the blackwater.
I haven't read the series (but have followed the write-up of the books on the site and am watching Game Of Thrones religiously).
Anyway, there was a comment on the HBO site about how Syrio is given a line in episode 6, about death being the only true god- and how that makes it sound like he and that Faceless Man with the J name are one in the same.
I get the impression this scene is original to the tv series, but assuming Martin has control of what's going on, it could foreshadow a reveal in the books.
HodorPretty sure Martin has at least implied that Syrio is dead.
Also, I seem to recall some people analyzing the timeline and determining that it would be impossible for Syrio to become Jaqen, but I suppose that's still not a guarantee — the timeline does have a couple problems, such as Tyrion having to travel very fast to meet Catelyn at the inn. I never paid too much attention to that, though.
I think that the Faceless Men are pretty important in Braavos, so it could just be because Syrio is from there. I don't think that most Braavosi share the Faceless Men's religion though. According to the Ice and Fire wiki the most important religion in Braavos seem to be the Moonsingers, who founded it. They seem to be separate from the FM. I wonder why I haven't heard of them. :/

Yeah, that scene is original. The moonsingers, well, there is a mention in book one, but they get a bit more coverage in book 4, when the guy is talking to Arya about the city. Not much detail other than they are the ones who lead the people to Braavos. Plenty of other gods in the city though. They have an isle of the Gods where all the temples are.

He got permission to do so, but he didn't necessarily do it immediately. It makes sense that he would wait until right before leaving the city to pick up the prisoners — less time that he has to watch them so they don't try to escape or something, and less time that he has to feed them.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Hmm. Possible, or at the very least I'm tired of searching through the book for clues. :P But I did notice that when Ser Meryn comes to take Arya, after Syrio defies him he specifically orders for Syrio to be killed. That makes it rather less likely that Syrio was instead captured and put in the black cells.
