And the intro music sounds like they're just playing the original intro backwards.

Are they resetting the bingo card for this playthrough or are they keeping the spaces they already got from their first go-around?

I don't think they care about the bingo card anymore. Are there even any spaces that they missed and could conceivably hit on another playthrough?

Magical Minority and Innapropriate Slavery Analogy AT Black Person were ones that could have gone on but they ended up not crossing off. And I have no proof of this but I know in my heart of hearts "...BECOME HUMAN." is in there somewhere.

Honestly, the main thing that shocked me was lying to Daniel about the gun and then using it to kill him was the Deviant choice.

Shamelessly plugging my comics, Oh yes.

[up] I think it depends on the perspective you look at it; if Connor's orders were to capture the deviant, then he was explicitly disobeying his orders.

I wonder just how quickly this playthrough was recorded after the end of the last one. Considering how the last one ended with Pat saying they should play it again, "Right now!"

The podcast has them mentioning they would start recording the day after, meaning it would've been this Wednesday. So very soon, about a week or even less than that.

I have to hand it to the guys at Quantic Dream for actually having choice matter in Detroit. In previous games there were very few choices that mattered in the long run, but here it feels like they went out of their way to make sure every possible permutation is covered.

Their sheer joy at finding the gun in Todd's room is infectious.

Only thing is shooting Todd means they won't be able to meet him later on for obvious reasons, and there's a potential bingo square to be ticked from that ("sympathetic villain motive gets steamrolled").

Isn't what Detroit does kind of the opposite, though? I thought "Sympathetic villain motivation gets steamrolled" referred to, say, Willem Dafoe's character arc in Beyond: Two Souls, where he starts off as a subtle, nuanced character—then sadness over his dead family suddenly transforms him into a cartoonish supervillain. Whereas Todd starts off as a druggie and domestic abuser, but you can learn about his somewhat sympathetic backstory later, and if you successfully reason with him, he'll realize what a monster he's been and apologize to Alice.

So after concluding God Hand, they set-up two mini let's plays to fill in the gap between the second Detroit LP and the still running Tokyo Mirage Session LP.

I finished watching their Resident Evil 7 LP. How angry was the internet at Pat for how he played that?

There was a bunch of stuff about the LP Tax and whatnot but other than that I didn't really see anything.

Detroit 2nd Gig is back, with two new episodes today.

Matt and Liam played The Adventures of Captain Spirit, made by the same people who did Life is Strange. It's super short. The first video is a start to finish playthrough. In the second video they do more optional stuff they missed the first time.

I did the same thing as them. Accidentally finished the story then went back to do all the content.

Matt and Woolie finished their playthrough of The Council (episode 1, I guess) and I'd be really interested in seeing them bumble through the rest of the game. Once you get past the off-putting art style and the wonky dialogue, it looks like a cool way to inject some actual gameplay back into the Telltale / David Cage "video games as movies" formula.

My favorite parts of Detroit 2nd Gig are when they make the same jokes they made last time and then go "oh no! We're the robots!".

I'm amused that Pat's second go as Connor is so far pretty much the same as Bryan Dechard's own LP: both of them handled the bromance with Hank pretty well... then decided not to rescue Hank, which really hurt the relationship. Bryan was still able to recover from that and get the good ending for Connor and Hank, but who knows if Pat can do the same?

But I don't have high hopes, since Pat also said he's planning to kill Chloe when he redoes the Kamski Test.

Didn't Pat say he was going full evil Conner so he could try and murder Woolie? I don't think Hank will like that at all.

Yeah, IIRC, Pat's trying to fulfill incompatible goals. He wants to do the Connor-Hank bromance correctly, but he also wants to choose the opposite of all his major decisions from last time, and Pat doesn't seem to realize how many of them will make Hank Go Down.

Of course, the big "issue" is that Pat played Connor inconsistently the first time, and got a Connor with a rocky relationship with Hank that could have become friendship... if a single overlooked detail hadn't turned it into a Shoot the Shaggy Dog story. So if Pat keeps mindlessly reversing his earlier decisions, he'll wind up with a Connor who's just as inconsistent and comes to an equally disappointing ending for different reasons. Assuming Pat follows through his stated intentions, then Connor 2nd Gig will: make it to the last chapter with no deaths (^ Hank), banter successfully with Hank (^ Hank), not risk his life chasing Kara and Alice across the freeway (neutral), leave Hank hanging off the roof to chase the other android (v Hank), spare the two Tracis (^ Hank), not risk his own life apprehending Simon (neutral), kill Chloe (v Hank), refuse the opportunity to turn deviant and try to kill Connor (v Hank), and learn the name of Hank's son (^ Hank, but completely irrelevant if Connor doesn't go deviant). In short: a Connor with a rocky relationship with Hank that could have become friendship... until philosophical differences drove them to opposite sides of the android war.

Come to think of it, even though that's just as depressing as the first LP, that could still make for a better story. It's a decent setup for a compelling tragedy.

I didn't write any of that.
