Come to think of it, while Claymore does suffer from a pretty bad case of Only Six Faces, looking closely at Octavia's
◊ face
makes me wonder if that "crazy love-child of Isley and Riful" theory might not be that crazy after all...
(I think Riful's face is pretty unique in the series. Though it's hard to tell.)

...well now, that was certainly one way to deal with the Destroyer plot thread. I find it a bit disappointing though.
To see that the Riful/Dauf hybrid appears fully lucid (and is still capable of more power) was quite a surprise, I thought it was more like a vengeful zombie based on the past two chapters. Given Priscilla's track record though, it's probably not a question of whether Priscilla's stronger, but only how much stronger she is. But maybe this is the factor that will finally let them reach anywhere near Priscilla's power scale.
Though one wonders how the plot will handle (in decreasing order of threat level) the Riful/Dauf hybrid, Cassandra, and the team of awakeneds once Priscilla is dealt with. Seems rather too plot-convenient if all of them die taking out Priscilla. My
: Cassandra will survive and will ask the warriors to kill her. She seems a pretty decent fella, and she's already achieved her revenge against Roxanne...she might prefer to die rather than live on as an awakened.

Finished the anime, damn Gecko Ending.
The concept of the Organization really makes no sense (bearing in mind that i have a vague idea of what's really going on here, secondhand from a friend who read the manga), because you've got these overpowered individuals, when we were never shown a normal Yoma stronger than the one Clare had to deal with in the church, and she only struggled because of how long she had been suppressing her powers. Given the nature of the threat they're supposed to be dealing with, it's obvious the Organization is after something different because the possibility of creating Awakened Beings is a much greater threat than letting a hundred stock yoma roam free. It's obvious that their primary concern is not the Yoma threat.
Eh, i guess i'll just gorge on the Tropes page for the series. No time to read an ongoing manga...
It is just about finished and coming out on a bi-monthly schedule. I would hardly call it "on-going" at this point.
(By "finished" I mean that the only place left for the plot to go after the current fight is a completely new/different direction. If it does go there, it will be more of a sequal than a continuation of the story)
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Priscilla's reason for her strength is basically like Sasuke Uchiha? Great.... And nows there's 2 of them.

Watch Symphogear@ Ogodei,
You forget that anyone not in the Organization doesn't know anything about the creation of Awakened Being (hell, some Claymore don't know about it). The monster that destroy a village is an "old demon" for the common folk, not a new ex-Claymore. So the more "old demon" there are, the more they think they need the Organization. Plus, since every castle we see are in ruins, it seems likely that the Organization is the only global power here, the other strangely seems to have been destroyed by the demons.
Also, I too wouldn't start the manga now. Wait five or six months that it is finished, and then read around volume nine-ten to have the manga version of Pieta.
On the new chapter, my thought in a very random order :
meh. I laugh at what would be a merge between the Organization and the Mythbusters ( Making young girl hate themselves make them stronger ? Confirmed. Next week experiment involve the same girls and gasoline. ). Former Cassandra seems to be a sort of mini Priscilla for the 7 ghost to kill. Good progression for Deneve, she manage to dodge for the first time of the series after someone tell her to. She can thank her awakened comrade for being there to perform her usual role. This chapter subtly indicate why Raki will be the one to destroy Priscilla.
English scan for new chapter is out.
And damn, Priscy is canonically a God-Mode Sue now.. Right now physical attack seems useless so they will probably need some sort mental, emotional attack from our residence boy-toy Raki to power down Priscy first.
On a side not, is it just me or Yagi just plain suck at drawing horses? The horses in the past few chapters look like they have wooden stilts for legs.
Probably got too used to drawing Octavia. 'cos when you're drawing monsters, who gives a damn about proper anatomy?
Still, dat holy fuck moment when you see Cassandra's face turning into Priscilla's.
Not sure how I feel about Priscilla's source of power being Uchiha-ness though. And it being stated outright that she's basically invincible at this point. (Also, some explanation on the Riful Dauf thing would be nice...)

The trans is so bad that I wonder if it's a cruel April's Fool joke.
This post
has a better translation. Or you could just wait a few days for a new scanlation.
Thanks a lot for that translation, that was much better. Have to say I wasn't expecting Cassandra-Priscilla to be dealt with so easily. I was oddly amused by Europa though.
Also oh come on, are we never going to get an explanation of how the Riful-Dauf hybrid turned up? I mean, that kind of came out of nowhere. (I did wonder last time about whether the fact only the upper half of Riful's corpse turned up would be important, but there still seems to be a lot of missing info between that and this hybrid creature here.)

The youma themselves are infected human. I think Dae's experiment involved using the flesh of loved-ones-turned-yoma(probably family members, like Priscilla's dad in the fb) to make the girl into Claymore, instead of random yoma. In case of Clair, she got Teresa's flesh, and I bet Priscy got her father's.
I'm beginning to see where Yagi is going with this. We have been shown that the key of pushing the limit and control of yoki power lie in synchronization and fusion of compatible individuals.
- The twins, Alicia and Beth, fused their minds -> controlled awakened.
- 2 sisters, Raphaela and Luciela fused their bodies and minds -> the destroyer
- The zombie number 1s showed that a small piece of a yoki-powered being retained some of the original owner's will, even after transplanted.
- Dauf+Riful showed that the fusion does not require blood relation as for the twins and sisters, strong emotional bond is enough.
- The process of making Claymore could be seen as a lesser form of synchronization/fusion, 2 beings become one. With the revelation that the half-awakened were implanted with the flesh of loved ones, and since the yoki-powered flesh can retain some original will (as in Priscy's arm), the flesh of loved ones would synchornize/fuse better with the Claymore than flesh of a random yoma and give the Claymore a boost with better control, more yoki, or something like that.
Seem like a logical progression to me.

I know the youma themselves are infected human, but it was said that Claire was originally weaker because she had Teresa's flesh implanted her instead of a Youma's, and so it was diluted further. I thought it was a Call-Back in a way.

From the way I understand it, the power to half awakening reside in the Power of Love : if you are being implanted with the flesh of someone who loved you and is currently a Yoma, you can half awaken. if Raki was a woman, he could half awaken if he was fused with the flesh of his brother.

Huh, just noticed that Chronos was namedropped in the bonus chapter (featuring Isley/Rigardo/Dauf/Riful) before he appeared in the series proper.
In other news, seems like there have been some small changes in the tankobon volume...a few extra shots of Clare and Raki's reunion. Also Miria's whiffed attack on Priscilla/Destroyer seems to have been retconned, along with (for some reason) Clare's bust size.
Also re-reading that chapter just let me notice Yuma is pretty old (at least, in terms of how long she's been a warrior). Out of the seven, only Miria is from an earlier generation than her. It must kinda suck to be surpassed by all those whippersnappers...
(Though perhaps she should also be congratulated on surviving so long despite being on the low end of the power scale.)
