Damn... I was hoping to see a continuation of TF One's storyline in some way, but they just shot it down.
Close your eyes, and you'll leave this dream~
Remember, only Paramount says that. Who knows, maybe Exact Words will come I play and someone else does it.
It's wishful thinking but never hurts to be optimistic.
She/Her | Currently cleaning: N/ASeeing as they have the license and IP over the movie, this seems unlikely. "Only Paramount says that" but in this case Paramount are the one with the final authority on this. Not even Hasbro.
Even if the license expires in their hands and passes to someone else, you're more likely to see a new franchise than a sequel to One. Lets be realistic.

At any given point they have about 2-3 different story continuities, each only lasting 3-4 years if lucky. Especially if something is pricey like Transformers One and doesn't perform, they would be more inclined to move on than hope they can build up a bigger audience.
Comics are just words and pictures. You can do anything with words and pictures.Ultimately, as long as Disney doesn't get the license and immediately add the Transformers to the MCU, I think we should be fine. In all seriousness, the franchise survived the patch of the 90's that killed many of the other big action figure lines of the late 80's (TMNT aside), so it'll probably survive Paramount's incredibly poor handling of Transformers One...

Close your eyes, and you'll leave this dream~On the positive interpretation of this, One is a pretty complete story so at the very least we got a good movie that tells a complete story.
Plus even if it doesn't get a continuation it will most definitely influence future incarnations of the franchise. I'd say it probably has my favorite origin for the Autobots by making them explicit oppressed working class who rose up instead of that being attributed to the Cons.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think if they were to do a continuation to Transformers One, a comic would be the most likely. It's not as costly as a film or a show.
But I don't think Hasbro has done a comic continuation to a non-comic work before, since they're mostly about making a new series and continuity to work with, rather than following up older series. The closet I can think of is maybe Transformers: Wings of Honor which was kind of a continuation of the original G1 cartoon, but not really.
Basically, I'm saying the best shot at a sequel is fanfic.

That's a good point. I'm all for anything that brings an end to Autobots are the corrupt nobility.
They should have always been the oppressed working class.

I believe a Snake-Eyes game is in development.

It's a classic 2000s idea of making a conflict greyer. The Cons are given a more sympathetic origin while the Bots are made to be a bit unsympathetic.
This intended to add conflict as it was a common way to do at the time.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It was, and I can see why.
But I'm more or less done with it.
I think it existed because of a combination of Darker and Edgier, Good Is Boring, and a belief that the Autobots had Protagonist-Centered Morality on their side, some of which might have been true.
But man, I'm glad it's done. You can add nuance to the heroes and villains without forgetting who's who, or making both sides unsympathetic.
One Strip! One Strip!Pretty much yeah, we've already reached the nadir of it in the IDW universe which applied significant levels of adaptational villainy to multiple Autobots including Optimus himself.
It got to the point where at times it felt the Cons were getting sympathized more despite being remoreless killers while the Bots flaws were being endlessly magnified.
