Many transformers have that in general. But in Dinobot's case, it pretty much ruins his beast mode. It's a flaw almost as big as the damn beast bits themselves and it look like crap.
◊
Did I suggest it would be a bad thing?

These
◊ were
◊ the Dinobot toys I had. One looked quite a bit nicer, though neither were entirely show accurate.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyNo, just responding for emphasis in fanboyish glee. Heh...IIIRC Optimus would have to be smaller then Dinobot and Rhinox if they for "show height" accuracy. He didn't start getting bigger then everyone else till he was made a transmetal.
Also Didn't Dinobot have a Universe Toy that was more show accurate? Though it was the japanese version that had show accurate colors...
Okay we need a new DB on principle.
Also cause we have Waspinator: I can see a Buzz Saw retool/repaint in the future-though I lean towards a "fan made" version.
OH if they do Tarantulas. Please let them get rid of that stupid grappling hook/string that's attached to his skid plate - it always got in the way when I played with him and even when it was loaded into the gun while stored in his back I had to be careful not to hit the trigger or it'll just shoot out.

BTW how "show accurate" would you say they can make these guys I mean there will be little things they just can't do. Look at the Waspinator toy for example. In the show the two insect legs on his robot mode arms shrink down to a more manageable size, and the third set of beast mode legs just vanish.
Also they have the Predacon symbol on his back oppose to the side of his head (which to be fair probably would be a pain to do).

Obviously, no one's expecting 100% screen accuracy on a 12$ toy Especially when some details are physically impossible. But look at this Waspinator
◊ Vs the Original.
◊
Some of the details are even amazing. Like the yellow stripes on the inside of his forearms.

Video of Generations Waspinator at other angles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUPSALB0eEI
Yeah the back of the head is apparently some clear plastic, it kind of looks like he's wearing mask.
EDIT: Okay that's weird: In the Robot Mode Shot the eyes are white (matching the plastic of the back head), however in the Beast Mode Shot-where you can see his robot mode head-the eyes are the same blue as his beast mode eyes. Well... maybe these are just the prototypes and any minor details that need touching up will be sorted out before release?

Without some way to become as big as Prime Megatron, Beast Wars Megs gets stomped...literally.
One Strip! One Strip!Really, size is where the Beast Wars cast are screwed, as they scaled down for efficiency's sake. However, Tigerhawk could take on the Nemesis momentarily, but he was an outlier.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyTigerhawk had the advantage of some mystical powers that puts him closer to Physical God than robot. Magic tends to trump physical strength, although he was only in like three episodes so it's hard to gauge his upper limits. As far as the Beast Wars are concerned he was the most powerful single character.
Well technically... Japan is
◊ here for us.
◊
(At equal size, BW Megatron trounces G1 Optimus and Victory Saber, but gets beaten up by Primal and Prime doing some weird double move)
Size could be handwaved by the Negative Space Wedgie that united them (The Blasty Zone. I swear it's the name!) or Japan just not giving a fuck.

Considering the actual intent of the Axalon's voyage was to dump Rampage on some abandoned planet (or preferably a SUN) mid-voyage, one has to wonder why they had so many stasis pods. Enough for two series, considering they landed in Beast Wars II, right?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyNo. Beast Wars 2 is another crew, on another planet.
We don't talk of BWII or BW Neo.
Seriously don't.
Except the toys. They were cool.
Anyway, I always figured the pods were for an early colonization effort. It's an exploration vessel. It dumps a bunch of newly awakened Maximals on a inhabitable planet they find, moves on or returns home to link the colony to Cybertron and the Maximal's dominion.

You know I still wonder what would of happened had the rest of the toyline been included in the BW show. Think about it the majority of the Predacons would of been brainwashed good guys. Megatron's plan would of been just as bad for them as it would the Maximals. Technically even the Predacons would be erased from existece-at least as they currently are AU versions of them might exist, not that they remember. Depending on how screwing with the timestream works in the T Fverse.
Point is not all the former Maximals would be like Inferno, once they realize what Megatron's plan meant for them they turn on him so fast...

So many first series beast modes had terrible undersides. What bugged me was that beast butt flap in Robot Mode.
