Does your school have a theatre department with a costume shop that isn't on another campus? If so, they may have a dryer they may let you use to dry your socks if it isn't the week before the show opens. If you can ascertain that it isn't the week before the show opens and there aren't any sounds that herald doom, offer them chocolate.
If you microwave your socks be stealthy, people get grossed out by that. Also, newspapers absorb water well if wadded up.
Ah, all lovely fixes, but I don't think they'd amount to much. None of the buildings on campus are connected except for the Science and Engineering Building and Dodge Hall; I have to go between five different ones today, and it's not the easiest thing to microwave my socks in every building I walk into.
I had a day back in middle school when I waited fifteen minutes for the bus in heavy rain. I tried using the hand drier in the bathroom to dry my socks, but I think I overheated it, because it cut out a little bit into the second sock.
Fresh-eyed movie blogIn grad school there was always a long wait for that first stipend check, my shoes were shot and it was a very rainy fall. Fortunately, I worked in the costume shop and was able to borrow a pair of turquoise Converse until payday. I still have the pair of shoes I bought with that check and I've had them resoled once.
I returned the Converse but just discovered that the hoodie I am wearing was something I didn't return. Whoops.
I am asking the Cobbies for good voodoo. I applied for the perfect job and would really like the interview, send any spare good vibes my way.

This is my favorite sentence:
In many cases, worshipers have a cement head with a metal spike. I suspect the missing term is figurine.

Yuan: most of the Asian dumplings I have had use a noodle-like dough. The dumplings we are talking about use a dough that is like American biscuit or shortcake dough (without sweetener). They are cooked in broth and absorb some of it but also thicken it at the same time. Like gravy.
