The neighbor's kids camped out last night. These are the things Mr. b and I talked about doing, but didn't:
- Get the flashlights and put them under our chins.
- Get the tow chains out and make "OOOoooOOOOoooOOO" noises.
- Set the sprinkler up. Turn it on.
- Put on a hockey mask and start the chain saw.
- Do an imitation of the ghost on Gilligan's Island.
Yes. Be mature. Exhibit forethought and planning skills.
Having made note of where they pitch the tent, conceal two wireless intercom speakers nearby. You can get a nice three piece battery operated set for about $10 at Radio Shack. Keep the third piece. You will want to make disturbing noises into it at random intervals throughout the night.
Since you have dogs, it might be amusing to lock the sending unit on and have the dog carry it around the house on their collar while they do their little canine patrolling. With any luck, you'll capture some water lapping, random growling noises and the like.

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI have a stomachache. Went to a friend's for "supper and movie night". Supper was chicken and dumplings, and it was far too rich. "Movie" turned into episodes of a britcom (The Inbetweeners) that was really ... too juvenile for my taste. Add in a people-eating chair that is upholstered to pretty much force a slouching/lounging position and my gut is very unhappy. Pepto-bismol is my very good friend right now.
Oh Maddy, I hope you feel better. Chicken and dumplings is one of those iffy dishes. I can't make it for Mr. b any more because it messes up his stomach bad. And the last time I made it, in Toledo, the dish shattered in a million pieces and I lost the whole thing. So it can break ceramic and pyrex as well.
My cousin makes the BEST chicken and dumplings. The dumplings are hand made (just like everything for her cakes). The sauce is thick but no to thick. -drools-

Untitled Power Rangers StoryShe makes ball dumplings instead of flat dumplings.
Question: in chicken and dumplings, do you prefer flat or ball dumplings?
Untitled Power Rangers StoryI like both. My wife has made them flat and ball. The ball ones tend to be a bit more of a mouthful. Once she made stuffed dumplings. We had pork and dumpling soup. She stuffed some of the pork into the dumplings and boiled them seperately.
