I've never had any romantic relationship, which hurts in a different way.

And yeah, you've had your heart broken, that's gotta hurt. Clearly it does hurt. When stuff hurts, go ahead and grieve. But just because you hurt now doesn't mean you'll hurt forever, or that all your relationships will end poorly. That's as true with physical health as it is personal relationships.

Work is rough right now: there was a process that was done by one lady for many years, and she just retired, and said process is now my responsibility. I had like three days to train with her before her last day. According to her, she'd been asking management to find someone to train for a year before they picked me. Gah.

She did give me her home phone number and told me to call whenever I had questions. So that's helpful.

As someone who had to hide her feelings and had her heart trampled on, don't dispair Mark.

Yeah, women, men, virtual pets...they all will play with your heart. But taking that anger inward only hurts yourself. I'm at a point where I have no room for a girlfriend, but I don't despair (mostly) . I realize that this is a temporary solution "and this too shall pass".

Don't pull the bottle to your head and pull the trigger Mark.

You know what? Fuck despair. I'm gonna focus on fixing my life and, most of all, me.

There you go, Mark. Failure is a part of life and one day you'll not fail in love.

Sailing on Saturday—that was a workout! All I did was pull a line every few minutes on instructor commands, and try to stay in the boat, but two hours of that made me sore for three days. It didn't help that the constant wind made me so cold my normal wool peacoat wouldn't help. Next time I'm bringing gloves, a hat to keep the sun out of my eyes, and my giant wool trenchcoat.

And I just came back from my swimming class today. I went to a very pleasant heated indoor pool with nice showers and nice instructors. I learned a lot of things, namely that I need more endurance, I float better on my stomach than on my back, and also I veer to my left side a lot for some reason. I signed up as a member because it allows drop ins for lessons and has an adult swim hour every weekday, which is great since my schedule isn't regular.

I call my regimen The Aquaman Workout.

Dunno about sailing, but swimming can be a great workout. And unlike some other forms of cardio it's less intense on one's body, impact-wise.

So I'm going on a date tomorrow. My last date was 4ish years ago.

I'm not sure how to feel about this.

I might take up weightlifting, because strength makes me feel good about myself. I'm one of three people in the entire dairy department that can pull a full stack of 6 milk crates off a pallet, and only one of two that can lift an empty pallet up over my head, Only reason I do that is to show off, lol.

The other coworker that does that is a 6'5", 230lb retired bouncer. I'm only 5'7" and 168lbs and I can keep up with him. Man, feeling strong feels awesome, I should get even stronger.

Mark: Go for it.

So today was social day. The wife and I hung out with some friends from my work. We played Cards Against Humanity, Joking Hazard by Cyanide and Happiness, and a game of Killer Bunnies.

There is speculative talk of making it a monthly get together.

I bought a new vacuum cleaner on Saturday and am stoked with how well it works. It might be heavy & unwieldy, but I've got a long-haired cat who tracks litter, plus quasi-shag carpet (not my choice, btw), so I needed something capable of really thorough cleaning. Plus my place isn't big, so "heavy & unwieldy" isn't a huge drawback.

On another note, some advice for you folks: if you buy new tires, go ahead and spring for the road hazard protection that the seller offers (if any). Got a big fat nail in the sidewall of one tire and TireRack is reimbursing me the cost of a new one.

Bad News: I dropped my phone.

Good News: I get to buy a new phone! It will be smaller than the brick I have now, and compatible with Pokemon Go. If it's not water-resistant, I'll get a case to keep it dry for all my new water hobbies.

Well it seems a few of my hairs are starting the process of turning white. While combing my hair pulled the usual loose hairs from the comb. One of said hairs was at the tip a normal colour the other 2/3 of the hair though were white. Not quite enough to show as it is just a few hairs but it looks like my genetics are catching up to me again.

Tuefel: You're getting gray hair just now? I noticed my first when I was 24. They're spreading slowly but surely, little silver threads in the black.

scion: Well chances are good I won't get the nice slow spread it will spread quite very rapidly. As in less than 5 years my hair could be white or grey. Happened to my mother and all her siblings and I have my mothers hair.

Better than my brothers one who started going bald at 21 and the other who is going bald now.

I have a small thin spot on the back of my head now but it is hardly noticeable unlike my poor brothers.

I had my first gray hair when I was 18. Granted I've had very few since then and it's on my temple area where I generally still keep a variation of the high & tight it's not very noticeable.

I found where my gray hairs are breeding. Namely along my temples. I could get side stripes. Goes well with the whole Evil Overlord look.

I'm balding at 23, grey hairs are the least of my problems.

If I got the genes from my mom and her dad, I'll start getting stripes soonish. I can already see a few greys at 27. I'm actually looking forward to pulling off a George Clooney look.

In other news, a terrible sinus headache doesn't seem to have interfered with my miniature painting abilities. My coworker buddy got a Conan board game that uses miniatures (which came unpainted) so I offered to paint em up for him.

I have never been so excited to start a fitness regimen. Tomorrow I begin my Aquaman workout in earnest! I've changed my diet to high protein for strength, too. And I'm telling everyone today so no one thinks I'm joking.

Thanks to the crazy schedules of pools around here and my inconsistent work schedule, I'll most likely be getting up at 5 or going to bed at 11.

Hope that goes well for you leradny. Swimming is usually a good way to get fit.

Mark: I may have had grey hairs longer then I believe because of how my hair colour has shifted over time. Meaning the likely just blended with my natural hair colour. However I look forward to the mystic/villain side streaks. Just because reasons.

I started with grey around the age of sixteen. Maybe. <_<

I've got a mouse-light-brown/blonde/weird colour on a par with Yuna in FFX, if a bit lighter. So, telling whether it was actually going grey or was just being enigmatic was a bit tough. tongue

I have got salt in there, now. For absolute definite. But, I seem to have taken after my Polish-Jewish-Roma side and not my Anglo-Flemish-Scottish one. Perpetual salt-and-pepper: mouse version. I'm a bit shocked. I fully expected to be snowy by now. smile
