"Now leaving the PG-rated section of TV Tropes. From here on the language and subject matter could be anything from PG-13- to X-rated."

About Gus: I don't feel like it's my place to say what happened to him.
IIRC: Gus started it, Janitor rescued the examples, and Fast Eddie has saved the site numerous times afterwords.

Never be without a Hat! Hot means heat. I don't care if your usage dates to 1300, it's my word, not yours. My Pm box is open."Beyond this page lies content that might not be safe for your grandma. To continue on where evil lurks, click here. To return to safety and homemade cookies, click here or use your browser's back button. If you take time to Get Known, you may opt to skip this page in the future."
((Ok. I screwed up the Get Known link, but you get my idea))

I was hoping for reference to Never Mess with Granny, but what am I saying, it's perfect.
I don't like the term "mature content", because it has the same types of implications as "adult content". Granted, it's a step down, but to many it implies "R rating".
I'd rather it say "may not be family-friendly" or "This part of the site contains discussions about more PG-13 rated material that might be considered offensive in some settings." or something like that. Something that makes it clear that while there may be discussion about more "mature" topics, it's not like, say, "mature content" on deviantART (which actually does include nudity).
Agreed. Mature and adult content really seem to imply you should only read these in the privacy of your home. Frankly, it never really was the case. In fact, one of the reasons the admins and tropers don't want adult ads even on the NSFG pages is because it would make reading at work, at school, in a library, etc. impossible.
"The following page is rated Not Safe For Grandma. Reactions may include: pearl clutching, fainting, cries of 'well, I never,' or any other number of shocked reactions. Moral Guardians beware, some of it may be objectionable.
"If you have small children present or if frank talk of sensitive subject matter will offend you, you may want to go somewhere else. However, if you are okay with it, or if you have parental consent, you may click the link below to continue."
- Offer Void in Nebraska, TV Tropes does not accept responsibility for unbridled link clicking. Continue at your own risk.
On a more serious note, I do think we should lean more towards the "may be objectionable" side, rather than the phrases that have porn connotations.

Video Game Census. Please contribute."May offend people" could apply to every page on the wiki. Or the Internet, for that matter.
The child is father to the man —Oedipus![]()
All the more reason not to use that particular wording.

In approximately three days/weeks, If what I've been informed is correct.
Remember, don't just trust what I say. Figure it out yourself, because I sure as beans don't know for sure.

^^ I think that's good.
^ Could work too.
I just don't think something like "adult content" is the right way to go with stuff like this. It's not like we're going to have actual pornography here, even if do cover works and tropes involving it.
