What is it with sticking people's heads into walls in Beelzebub...
He's right, isn't he Char? Then you should help me revive the Zabi Dynasty! Afterwards we can think about the world together!

I agree. To me it looked like all those hits Oga landed on Takamiya after he unveiled his new skill were thanks to Takamiya and Lucifer being taken off guard by his sudden spike in power. Also, with that move Oga threw down the proverbial gauntlet, so if the fight was allowed to progress Takamiya would have probably decided to stop playing around with Oga and regrouped with Lucifer in order to bring out the big guns.
Then the author would have probably needed to show several chapter of them one upping each other with their powers, until Oga finally comes out on top, which, let's face it, is way too mainstream for Beelzebub. This way, Oga will be able to bulldoze Takamiya without giving him the chance to access any one winged angel forms he might have stored away.
Plus, I like the whole gambit because it showcases Himekawa's 'unique' brand of loyalty to Oga which gained him his King's Crest (that is, he's willing to go to any lengths to stack to decks in Oga's favour, but refuses to be seen outright charging to Oga's aid like Aoi and Kazaki do) and cements his role in Baby Beel's inner court as the 'spymaster' (in contrast to Aoi's second-in-command/bodyguard role, Furuichi's tactician role and Kanzaki and Tojo's warrior roles). Not to mention it really shows how Beel has grown as a demon, both power wise and personality wise.
