These false humans ought be scoured from the earth, with a thousand deserts' sand and a thousand oceans' might poured unto their lands, so that the Earth Itself shall reject them from ever rising anew...

Sorry, Pies. :P Bad luck'n'all.

Yeah, it's for the best. I'm trying to stick to the basics, like giving primitive technology and magic to the elves, and having them create a medieval-like society.

Draco, you're aware that no one else is even close to that level of technology yet? Just checking.

It's fine if you're ahead... Just be aware we've been trying to keep this at least a little grounded in reality... Besides the clouds. tongue

To those who didn't understand Cu's mention of sitting on him; he's a three-legged stool.

And his creatures are called djinn.

His prophet shall be named Bartimaeus.

Oh, I hadn't noticed. I'm sorry if i seem that I made my race a little too advanced. I just assumed that everyone else was trying to do the same thing.

We're aiming for advancement, yes, but we have to get there first.

Also, I still love you Sarc.

Bartimaeus FTW.

Though a little less Ho Yay would... be appreciated. One gay stalker was enough, I don't want to go through that again.

Hey, it makes sense that elves advance the fastest. But usually they stay at that level of development.

Maybe Pies' actions can work to our advantage. After being thrown out of the pantheon for gross misconduct and rank odour, he could become this pantheon's equivelant to Satan.

^^ Fine. It's still awesome.

^ Eh, works for me. He'll never return, yet we'll speak in hushed whispers of fear...

Also, since Bartimaeus was created at the base level of sentience, he's going to act like it, though it'll be a while before his Deadpan Snarker tendancies show up.

Here's to hoping that isn't a long time, though.

And the djinn can't enter anything below the upper-upper atmosphere, because they're gaseous- the air pressure and gravity would shred them.

Yeah, Elves are more advanced than humans. But I don't want them getting too smart and proud for their own good.

They aren't Life As We Know It, then, I assume?

Also, that's until someone summons them, right? tongue or are you not going the whole way?

^Draco: I dislike elves for the Our Elves Are Better trope, so... If they start proclaiming their power and superiority they're getting dive bombed.

Rather then detailing every stage of development, would anyone be in favour of another Time Skip, so that they're all at a reasonably advanced (say, medieval-esque) stage?

Hydrall Since: Jun, 2009

That might be a bit far. Maybe up to... I don't know, early true civilization? Since I haven't even done anything really yet.

Still working on how to setiencify these Damn Birds.

As for the time skip, I vote... Not yet, but soon.

Anything that allows for proper buildings and culture is fine with me, just so long as we don't have to slooowly progress from age to age.

Soon. To the point where they get some cities and basic metals.

My people will be kind of like vikings. Except without as much pillage and rape.

GabrielGloom Since: Dec, 1969

They might find pillage/rape difficult, considering the natures of their various neighbours...

Hydrall Since: Jun, 2009
#194: Oct 8th 2010 at 1:15:03 PM

Then how are they like the Vikings? They're just Danes then...

Vikings? I kinda like the sound of that. Maybe there'll be a battle if they encounter another race.

Theatre, Lumennex? We're (supposedly) barely out of the stone age here.

Well... the popular depition of Vikings. Large people clad in fur and armor with big battle axes.

Or were those the norse? Anyway something like that.

Hydrall Since: Jun, 2009
#198: Oct 8th 2010 at 1:31:42 PM

And they won't use those to fight, you say? How odd.

They're humans or human-like beings who live in a snowy, forested area? Right then. But Vikings minus pillaging are just Danes. tongue

The thing is that I made my continent kind of an extremelly dangerous enviroment.

It's filled with predators, great monsters and such.

I think it'll make it so that even if they get a technological developtment higher than the one we have in the world of today they still won't be able to tame it.

Well, I hope I don't land my continent near yours. I don't think that will bode well for my people.
