Here's a video of all of the enemies/recruits in River City Girls;
It seems that the regular enemies have a total of three regular variants to them, as well as two special unique variants, one more demonic and zombie-ish, the other I think is more for a miniboss. The exceptions to this rule are Waver, Linda, and Trash, who just have the "miniboss" and "zombie" variants. They are as follows;
- Georgios, Steve, Reggie, and Rogers: Low life miscreants who learned to fight on the streets.
- Farrokh: The streets of River City have toughened his skin and soul.
- Chaim: Sabu's illegal chemical reservoir wasn't the best choice for swimming.
- Reina, Hinata, Hannah, and Ichika: If you are not part of their clique, you are part of their problem.
- Nen: The dominant female of the pack. She didn't get the part for her looks.
- Vesper: She tried a seance one night with her friends. It didn't end well.
- Seirai, Kayden, Kaitsu, and Malhar: These entitled jerks love to fight dirty.
- Mel: Leader of the schoolboys and his own band. So cool.
- Grendel: Once the prom king. Not really a contender for that title anymore.
- Linnea, Chara, Ashanti, and Colleen: These cheerful girls are agile and love to dodge your advances.
- Midori: The cheerleader leader leading her lethal ladies.
- Rachel: She cares not for leading cheers. She's more like a fearleader.
- Waver: A bizarre gambler with a penchant for taking high risks.
- Exie: Waver's cousin from the other side of the tracks.
- Chance: A cursed puppet with a penchant for mayhem.
- Linda: A tough lady who prefers to punish her enemies with her whip.
- Neo Linda: Linda's twin sister. She was technically born first, so she's in charge.
- Mecha Linda: An evil doppleganger who won't stop until she dominates this entire city.
- Saito, Onishi, Nomura, and Matsui: Corrupt police that are certainly not sworn to protect you.
- Fujimoto: The chief of police is even more corrupted than the people paying him.
- Nakamura: Being killed in the line of duty was merely an inconvenience to this dirty cop.
- Dwayne, Leon, Aurelien, and Szatkowski: These pro wrestlers are as agile as they are musclebound.
- Oscar: Never took a knife edge chop he didn't sadistically enjoy.
- Hellwig: He made a heel turn years ago and never turned back.
- Trash: Once he gets his trusty hammer going, nothing can stop him.
- Garbage: Trash's brother that used to bully him. Just think how he feels about you.
- Scum: His mother warned him not to drink Turbo Juice excessively.
- D4-V1D, 64-RC14, J4-M35, and CH-R15: Giant robots from the future disguised as giant robot looking humans.
- J3-R3MY: Modern ballistics feels like being hit by feathers to him.
- H4-YD3N: When science was not enough, the cyborgs tried their metal hands at magic.
- Fudo, Hisoka, Katashi, and Hiromi: Sabuko's army of martial artists are incredibly skilled with their fists.
- Masaaki: Sabuko's very own left hand man. No one dares challenge his authority.
- Osamu: Possessed by an ancient oni and an insatiable desire for combat.
- Akari, Harumi, Hideko, and Maiko: Sabuko's henchwomen are deadly with their knife throwing skills.
- Momoe: Sabuko's right hand lady. Her knives are can slice teenage girls like cafeteria butter.
- Shinobu: Sabuko's main assassin. She does this job for free.
I hope to god that this doesn't count as spoilers.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Gaaaah I hope this game has some DLC. I need boss rush mode, higher difficulties, some more enemies... It's so much fun that I plan on playing through it with all four characters as is.
Bleye knows Sabers.I have been thinking of a River City Girls 2, with Ayumi and Coco Savage from Mat Mania - The Prowrestling Network as guest star bosses (With the latter actaully being a successor to the original Coco Savage and also a fan of both him and the other Mat Mania characters, and as such would incorporate moves from all of them into his moveset), Xain as a shopkeeper, and ShingoFJ2 and the RK300s as minor characters. It'd also even feature Alex in his River City Ransom: Underground incarnation as both a character separate from Kunio and an important side-character to the plot, as well as Coach Otis as a minor character mentoring Takashi Onizuka.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Hopefully the game does well enough to justify a lot more installments with this style. I love it so much. Branching into four-player co-op with the quartet of protagonists we're offered just seems like a no-brainer at this point, preferably with legions of enemies dynasty-warriors style.
Kunio in particular is fun to play as in this thanks to his insane special moves and a Grin of Audacity that might be the best in gaming.
I just ordered a physical edition from Limited Run Games. Now I gotta hunt down all those Sabu statues.

Bleye knows Sabers.I'd personally like to see a game that's Shenmue by way of Kunio-Kun/River City.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireWhat I hope for is a Fighting Game with a bunch of characters from throughout the franchise similar to River City Melee: Battle Royal Special and the upcoming River City Melee Mach!! in the style of River City Girls.
And when I say "characters from throughout the franchise", I don't just mean just the ones from the Kunio-kun games. I also mean the ones from all of the localized games as well, including River City Ransom: Underground, the Renegade games, Crash 'n' the Boys: Street Challenge, and Super Dodge Ball Advance. Even characters from Nijiiro Dodge Ball: Otome Tachi no Seishun would be fair game, and there could even be characters from other Technos IPs, like Double Dragon, The Combatribes, Mat Mania, Xain'd Sleena, Minky Monkey, Bogey Manor, Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer, etc.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.I love when a game take less than 10 minutes to validate my purchase
That's basically an apt description of The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa.
Which is absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend enough. I need to finish it but the whole thing is excellent.
WayForward and Arc System Works might team up on more River City titles in the future
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Nice. I hope the sequel has 4 player co-op and might involved Misako and Kyoko teaming up with Mami and Hasebe where the 4 girls form an Enemy Mine to rescue Kunio and Riki while arguing with each other who deserves to be guys "real" girlfriends.
I would love that.

Cameos from other Technos IPs
Double Dragon
The Combatribes

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.The character page definitely needs a revamp of some kind but given how massive the franchise is and how little has been added so far we would need an influx of manpower to fill it out.
Bleye knows Sabers.I'm afraid that's just not probable. I asked about something related to needing a large amount of assistance a long time ago, and got the response that editing TVTropes is a voluntary effort and, while you can ask for help, there are no groups that exist to pump editing into a page. So unless we have a lot of tropers that are very familiar with Kunio-kun here on the site, I don't think there'd be enough to facilitate remodeling an entire sub-page.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Here's a video showcasing all of the Shops and Dojos, as well as all of the Shopkeepers;
And here's a video showing what all of the recruits in the game do;
How Misako and Kyoko met;
Imma be honest, I don't like how this game characterizes Hasebe and Mami. And Misako for that matter.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Hey, guys, guess what? Abobo is quality programming (warning: a little loud).
FE: New Mystery Fresh Cart Lunatic 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiI really want a "Kunio-kun" Trading Card Game in Rem's style.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.It would be really cool to see more games like this. Neon was kind of a one-off. The Double Dragon cameos are really great in this pixel style.
"No will to break."RC Girls take a little while to come online but once your moveset is full and you've got a good grasp of it it's one of the most solid mechanical beat 'em ups I've played. I'd like to see the kinks get ironed out though since it's a lot rougher than it needs to be.
It's a little slow to start since you gotta get those moves. It feels a little unnecessary, and might give the impression the combat's actually more simplistic/clunkier than it is.
"No will to break."I was fine with the gameplay by the time I fought Misuzu, so no more than 20 minutes.
The slow-unlock is probably deliberate to avoid overwhelming the player. Gotta walk before you can run and all that. (Honestly I feel more games should do that.)
The problems I have with the game are all pretty minor, like not telling you exactly what certain moves do/are for before you unlock them. I haven't even played co-op yet, can't wait.
But I really want more content. Needs an arcade challenge mode.

Bleye knows Sabers.I've been wondering recently if DLC would be good for this game? Like more playable characters, being allowed to play as the Shopkeepers and Bosses.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.
"You didnt cross a line. You used spoiler tags. Please dont feel like you cant post here."
Alright, if you say so. What I wanted to ask is really more of a suggestion; I'm thinking of revamping the Characters sub-page for the series. I'm thinking making three separate sub-pages for it, one containing characters that debuted in the Beat-'em-ups, one containing characters that debuted in the sports games, and listed as "Others", which'd contain any characters that may have debuted from Nekketsu Kakutō Densetsu, Kunio no Oden, and Ore wa Otoko Da! Kunio-kun, as well as cameo characters from other Technos IPs like Double Dragon and now The Combatribes, and maybe even characters from the Americanized games, like Crash 'n' the Boys: Street Challenge, Target: Renegade, Renegade 3: The Final Chapter, and River City Ransom: Underground. I might need some debate on this, though. For one thing, I'm wondering if the Americanized characters' section will get so big that they'll need their own sub-page?
EDIT: There's also concern about it maybe being hypocritical to separate the Renegade and River City Ransom characters from the Beat-'em-up subpage, yet still add River City Girls to said sub-page even though that's also an American-developed game.
