My biggest issue with the name is that it's implying that hitting it from the air is impossible while being about an aircraft attack.
Fight smart, not fair. The X-wing books call targets vulnerable to this "TRD" Trench Run Disease.
Personally I think the redirect would make a better name than the current name Trench Run Mission.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I agree. If anything, Airstrike Impossible could just be cut, and the whole trope only be named Trench Run Mission. There's really no need for a redirect for something as self explanitory as that.
I would like to see a bit of misuse before I go in and do my mass edit. I can do it and then post the misuse, but that would moot most evidence.
So, we've got a rename proposal, I requested a description trim, and I'll go through the examples after my nap. Anything else?

Fight smart, not fair.Yeah, Trench Run Mission works a lot better in conveying the actual trope's focus.
Oh, and while I was at it, I fixed the Wing Commander stuff to actually reflect what the trope description is talking about.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpAlright, I went through and cleaned it out. A lot of the X Just X examples were in film so that section is looking a little sparse.
I did notice something. The first part of the description describes the trope as being about a phenomenally difficult airstrike so the title would be more like Airstrike: Impossible, possibly a play on Mission Impossible. It later goes on to say that Trench Run Mission is a common subtrope. Should it be split? Is "really hard airstrike mission" even a trope?
Fight smart, not fair.Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Mission: Impossible parrallel was what they're going for. I don't think Trench Run Mission is distinct enough to get its own subtrope (especially as I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of examples would be Star Wars Shout Outs). Should we move it to a ptitle with the colon?
In the meantime, I'll look through the article itself and clean up what I can.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Well IMO something called "Airstrike impossible" sounds like something that is immune to airstrikes and require a ground assult. Like something in a residental area or something far underground. (Like that gun that the Nazis were building to fire across the english channel which was so far under concrete that normal bombs didn't work till the allies created a bunker buster bomb.)
Now the fact that I remember that from the History Channel about WWII scares me.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I have played games where you have to destroy a target from your plane that you have to fly low to the ground (not necessarily in a canyon) or fight off a lot of enemies just to get to the target (usually at the end of a game), essentially an Airborne Mission Impossible (if Mission Impossible is an extremely challenging to the point of impossibility mission (which it isn't) ) so I think it IS something, but it could probably fall under an "Extremely Challenging Level" trope (if we have one like that)

"The fact that your food can be made into makeshift bombs alarms the Hell out of me, Scrye." - CharlatanWe do, but that one's got the subjective banner, so...
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I rewrote the description and cleaned up the examples. I think all that's left is a rename. I still like Airstrike: Impossible (we can add a line to the description noting the Mission: Impossible reference), but if other people aren't fond of it I'd just flip it around and use Impossible Airstrike (which is, indeed, already a redirect to Airstrike Impossible).

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. That One Level But In A Plane is not a trope.
Okay, your description is much better. And now I know that Impossible Mission Needs Wiki Magic.

Okay, first off, the name. How many of you can guess that Airstrike Impossible => Death Star trench run style thing? Even then, the description is filled with potholes to The Other Wiki and the half the examples seem to not be potholed. I think I even see duplicates. I'll take a crack at it tomorrow, but I wanted to bring it up here first.
