I hated the Alternamorphs books. Badly written mashups of twelve books slammed together, where every other page has you dying horribly. So no, they don't count and make no sense in regards to the main series.
Formerly known as Crow T. Robot.Haha...that happens to me quite often in *any* "Choose Your Adventure" book. Anyways, the Animorphs series was one of the first ones I really got into (Redwall being the other) and in retrospect they were quite dark and as people here have mentioned, deconstructed the teen hero rather well. The sextet formed in the books will probably stay with me for a long time.
I never finished the series- stopping around book 35(?) but leafed through the books years later when I found out that it had ended without me knowing. The only thing I could hold against it is that aside from the David arc and one or two other books that stood out, the books somewhat bled together, which is why I really like the Andalite Chronicles as it stands alone really well. I'd love to find the time to reread them and actually finish the series on my own but...yeah. Working on that.
Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more." -Mark TwainOut of curiosity, do KAA other series have download links?
Fight smart, not fair.Everworld download link here. But they only have the first four or so books available to download.

So... she made sure it was a downer ending because it'd be more realistic?
Ok...

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. She's got a point; war isn't all ticker tape parades and banners on aircraft carriers. It was pretty much a bunch of teenagers waging a guerrilla war against a ridiculously powerful enemy; I'm surprised they didn't lose earlier.
;_; The memories...the pain...whyyyy.
New User HandleI had a huge crush on Rachael back in the day; something about a girl who's good looking and can hold her own in a fight. She was a bit crazy though, but the good kind of crazy.
Got to be honest, I liked what happened in the final book. Save for the actual ending.
I just have this hatred for the Bolivian Army Ending... It would have been one thing for it to be against a second wave of Yeerks(wars never truly end, and all), against the Cryak, Andalites betraying earth, or something... but against a completely different Big Bad that was never foreshadowed or anything?
... I'm going to leave it at "hatred for Bolivian Army Ending" before this turns into a giant rant...
I'm rereading the books now and DAMN they're a lot darker than I remember.
Formerly known as Crow T. Robot.^ I think it's because now we're older and less idealistic. The only thing I didn't like about the ending was the fact that they ended up going up against some bad guy that we've never even heard about.

I am 21 and still have not outgrown them, and I doubt that I ever will. that said, the books after the yeerks found out who they were did not live up to te rest of the books standerd
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoIt's funny; if I were in there shoes; knowing what I know about the world now...we/they would of done a lot worse.
Guess that's a good thing.
To this day I still can't decide who was a more effective villain: Visser Three or David.
Actually, I might say David, cause damn was that trilogy fun to read.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.David is a perfect case study of why you don't bring untrusted outsiders into your guerrilla resistance.
Especially immediately after they've been very, very traumatized.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Anyone else read her explanation of the last books ending?
yeah, personally, I consider most of the last few books discontinuity. (seriously, kids books series, no matter how well written, should not end on such a downer!)
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoYeah, but guerrilla wars don't usually have happy endings.
true, but CHILDREN'S! BOOKS! seriously, I would not be supriosed if someone was litteraly TRAUMATISED by thet ending!

^ Short term, it would have hurt the Yeerks on the sole basis of the immediate power vacuum. The Animorphs, if they were swift in their actions, could probably have gotten away with a raid of the yeerk pool to free hosts, and/or carry out attacks on other facilities.
But, long term, it would likely have put Visser One in charge. And Visser One is more of a "big picture" sort of leader (rather than Visser Three's "Sacrafice the plan to try to kill the Andalites" tendencies). The final battle would have occured about 20+ books earlier than when it actually did. And I'm thinking the Animorphs don't win.
Also, I found book 2. So now I have the complete set... or atleast, the complete set minus the Alternamorphs... but who counts the Alternamorphs anyway?
