We aren't talking about renaming it at this point. The name suggestions are for searchable redirects which the trope needs if we don't rename it. I am not in favour of a rename. I do like Disappointing Last Levels as a redirect though.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI never had any problem with Xen, nor have I heard complaints outside TV Tropes about the quality drop. The jumping puzzles were easy, but boring.
Back on topic.
Last Level Quality Drop for one of the renames.
Half-Life: Dual Nature, a crossover story of reasonably sized proportions. The crowner is still attached, and as long as it is, it will keep being seen as a rename thread (nevermind it says rename in the thread title).
The current tally is 20 vs. 17 (+3). We don't usually see a lot more votes than this, so unless people change their votes (which could conceivably happen if someone proposed an incredible alternative name), I doubt it will change significantly. Perhaps the crowner should be called as against the rename and detached? Not that that is my call to make.
Searching for plausible mechanisms.Late Level Letdown and Endgame Quality Drop are good redirects.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!
Crown Description:
Do we rename Xen Syndrome? Arguments in favor:- Non-indicative, example-named trope: The name derives from one specific level of one specific videogame, and means nothing to anyone else.
- "X Syndrome" is a discredited naming convention; most snowclones fail the One Mario Limit.
- Subjective Trope; even if you do know the reference, you may or may not consider it an example.
- High number of outside referrals.
- No evidence of misuse presented.
- 111 wicks and 1300+ referrals as of December 2010.

As said before, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The vote is practically split right now. A far cry from a consensus.
