After finishing my replay of Trials and Tribulations and in anticipation for Apollo Justice, I began to think about the Jurist System. If Capcom were to carry it over in a direct sequel to GS 4/AJ, how would you prefer it to be implemented without completely breaking the game play?
WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR APOLLO JUSTICE: ACE ATTORNEY BELOW.
I thought it over, and I imagine that a point system might work while also adding another dimension to way the games are played. The points would basically be hidden in the life bar. As the bar is depleted, your score goes down. At the end of a case, the amount of life you lost on each case day is deducted from the overall score. If it's below a certain threshold, you end up with a poor standing with the jury due to making too many mistakes and your defendant is found guilty regardless. Basically the game would have the same goal of putting all the clues together to finger the true culprit while also adding the mechanic of putting on a good showing for the jury.
The amount of points needed to impress/convince the jury would start off considerably low, increasing with each case to raise the difficulty. At the end of each court day, your current standing with the jury would be tallied and would be accessible from the Court Record.
It would likely make the game a lot more frustrating and encourage save scumming, but to be perfectly honest the save feature is always going to be abused in this series unless manual saving is removed completely. The above method of tracking your standing over the course of a case is one method I came up with of alleviating some of the hair pulling rage such a system might cause.
It might seem a bit much to some, but I personally find that such a system would help breathe new life into the franchise. It would add quite a bit of suspense and raise the amount of odds you have to overcome to acquit your client.
Perhaps one way to help balance the system would be to add bonuses to help raise your score. Solving the case in less time adds points, as well as making it through an entire court day without making a single mistake.

The way I see it, it wouldn't be too different. If you can't follow through on your logic, they'll assume you're bullshitting them. If you can, they'll assume you aren't. Gavin was a special case where you couldn't prove your logic but he all but confessed, making it blatantly obvious to everyone in the room that he was the killer.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyWell, he had no way of knowing that he couldn't get away with it.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyWell, I wouldn't call it smart. I just don't think he realized just how dumb it was.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyCan someone tell me what word/phrase Gyakuten Saiban uses for OBJECTION, HOLD IT!, and TAKE THAT!? I watched a gameplay video but I couldn't quite make out what they were saying.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book![[Sorry for the double post. Things didn't work out how I wanted them...]]
Is anyone else planning on pirating Gyakuten Kenji 2 and using a translation patch if Capcom doesn't localize it?

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! Thanks but I got them with the help of The AA Wiki (thus the double post at first).
I'm so going to use IGIARI! during arguments now. Especially since the translation is more appropriate than OBJECTION!.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I've just finished the second game. (hopefully, I'll be getting the third one for christmas) I LOVE the Ace Attorney series!
One question: Does Franziska Von Karma ever appear again? and if so, then does her attitude improve at all? I really like her, and I wanna see her go the way of Edgeworth and become a good guy.

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelI know T&T has that one prosecutor whom everyone seems to love.
Godot, is it?
I don't know, he seems like the most gimmicky prosecutor so far. My favourite's still Manfred
Weird question, but It's just something I've been wondering. I'm no good at reading people and stuff, so forgive me if this is obvious:
Outside of their willingness to tamper with the evidence, what IS it exactly that makes Edgeworth and Manfred better prosecutors than say, Payne?
