Amazing, cause I did reflect their projectiles at them during the pacifist run. I'm glad the Tasen might be grateful about that.
Interestingly, I spared them on my "kill em all" run cause I just wanted to get Krotera's poster fast (I'm playing both pacifist and one woman army styles at the same time to see which ends up easier)
Meido! Knee-sock! PAD-chou!That's interesting- I was thinking about how the reflector didn't technically kill people, but I suppose they are still dead, and there's still concequences for that, even if it doesn't count towards your kills.
I've never done a proper aggressor run, I just find jumping over people easier. Also I'd miss out on getting full crack early in the game, which is my preferred setup. It might be worth it just to see all the gameplay I've missed, though.
So, to get the weapon info, I need to get the Nanomaster rank... that was about 100 successful cracks minus fails.
I got some questions: If I reboot my nanofield 100 times, does that count for nanomaster rank? Also, how do I get immortal rank, was it beating the game with zero damage? And last: are the weapon/enemy information sections complete when you unlock them, or do you have to actually see all enemies weapons?
I mostly am interested in playing the game to unlock those two bonuses more than anything else (and my love for the Tasen) cause I've never been really much of a completionist.
Meido! Knee-sock! PAD-chou!You'll have to get under 100 damage to get immortal rank. It's not too difficult if you know who to avoid and who to fight.
I usually play in level select to experiment with things. Actually, it's the only mode I've played as of recently. It's a good addition, gives the game "pick up and play" value. You can get the weapon viewer without having to see every weapon, but chances are you will have seen them all by that point anyway.
I don't really think I have a preference for either Tasen or Komato, I find them both equally bad. I usually try not to kill either, though. Maybe it's my focus on speed. I tend not to try and kill unless I have to.
I think if you kill only the Komato you'll still get the following: Vateilka in sector 7, access to Deep Sector/saving Paiie or whatever her name was, sector 3 truce. And you'll get to avoid killing Krotera. What you won't get is Ansaksie, the null driver, access to the Tasen bunker, and most of the late-game pacifist dialogue. Since by that point it's more about how many Komato you're killing than how many Tasen, the main thing you'll be interested there is the bunker. It makes sense; even if you don't kill a single one the Tasen still can't be 100% sure you're on their side but they can be sure you're killing people right and left.
Brickman, I think you mean Massacre instead of Null Driver. And Ansaksie's a guy.
I really would like to see a selective killing twist. Kill all Tasen or all Komato having different changes.
So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonAnsaksie's a "he"? Someone will have to correct the characters page then:

the future we had hoped forWhat I meant was that if you do a run in which you only kill the komato, you'll still have racked up enough kills by sector 9 that you probably won't see Ansaksie. But you'll still get into Deep Sector, still save Paiie and Vateilka (at least in the old version. Now that the latter is available to talk to in sector 9 I have no idea what happens to her if you don't), still get Vateilka's store in sector 7, and you'll still get to not call in the Komato. You simply won't get into the bunker and nobody in the endgame will talk to you as if you're a pacifist, because you're clearly not.
Sorry, I meant to say she, but Brickman got it in my head she was a guy.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonHonestly, even after numerous runs through the game I still haven't gotten the hang of teching. I don't get hit often enough to have gotten enough practice to learn the timing, so I pretty much can't do it ever unless I'm extremely lucky. But I do fully acknowledge how big of an advantage it can be; normally you spend half of your mercy invincibility just falling to the ground, possibly in a position you don't want to be in, and Iji does not walk fast enough that you can afford to spend time moving in a direction you don't want to be while fighting a boss or tough opponent. Especially Tor.

It doesn't, apart from a few select cases (such as that one Tasen, and the three Komato scouts). Interestingly in the latter case, in 1.6 the Tasen know you offed them (and like you for it) even if you do it "cleanly", as I did in my zero-kill run.
