I have a mod that gives all the Fallout Tactics weapons in Fallout New Vegas. Even the Steyr AUG and the G11, which is nice. The only beef I have with the latter one of those is that there is no optical sight, or way of adding one for some reason. Even though there is one clearly visible on the world model, nowt happens when you use zoom.
So can anyone give me general advice for enjoying and getting the most out of Fallout 1? I reinstalled it with the idea of maybe giving it another go, my prior save has been lost to time and OS reinstalls. I do kind of want to try and break my usual mold of playing lawful good characters, though I don't want to go all the way over to sadistic bastard either.
High speech and high Science will let you unlock a fair bit of story elements. Sneak can let you bypass a lot of the combat as well to reduce the negative impact of speccing out in non combat stuff as well as allowing you to steal from everyone, and the extra money will be really helpful for a certain choice in the game that you may or may not find useful.
Along with that if you have the latest patches then the time limit is gone after you deliver the water chip so that you can spend all the time in the world exploring the wasteland.
Be sure to visit the Bo S and stock up on a shit load of anti radiation supplies from the Hub so that you can visit The Glow- if you explore the full extent of the Glow you can uncover some pretty important background lore.
That's all the main stuff you can unlock in terms of getting the most out of the game, but it may be a little tough if you're specced out in so many noncombat skills and very few combative stuff.

They're pretty cool. Just signing up for an account gets you a couple of pretty good games (Including one of the Ultimas, though I can't remember which.)
And yeah, all european releases of Fallout 1 and 2 censored the kids for the same reason they're unkillable in the modern ones.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Pretty much. JE Sawyer, lead developer of New Vegas, said even he wanted to kill off Little Lamplight.
But he couldn't make the kids in New Vegas mortal, so he tried to make them as unannoying as possible. He admitted he may have failed with the Mick and Ralph's crier.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."There's also that kid with the Archimedes II designator. Why the hell do I need to pass a barter check / give him 2000 caps when I can just punch his head off with my bare hands like everyone else?

That's why this is my favorite mod.

...Ah yes, the mortal children mod. Are they just set as essential? Because I can fix that in the console. Otherwise, I can disable them.
Nah, the kids aren't just set as essential, I don't think. You can't target them in VATS at all, for one, which was something you could do to essential characters in Fallout 3, like Elder Lyons.
Plus the mortal children mod is nice because it brings back the "Childkiller" reputation from Fallout 2.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."

I don't get the hate for three. Its not perfect, and the dialogue isn't as witty, but its still pretty fun.
