Heroine in Shonen typically Means LOVE INTEREST not MAIN female character

Its like Digimon frontier... Izumi has better chemistry with Junpei and Koji in fact has stronger ship tease with them then she does with Takuya

yet cause formula Izumi is pretty much given to Takuya in the end cause HE'S THE HERO and SHE'S THE HEROINE

so most people were banking on the idea that Sakura was the Final girl by simple thought process that Naruto would never mate with a DIRTY SIDE character like Hinata 'Honestly the amount of body shaming Naru-Saku fans would stoop too when it came to poor hinata was disgusty'

Really alot of it was people used Sakura's fairly bland character to self insert... so Sakura "failing" was taken as well Them Failing

Here's the problem with Sakura... Her development is completely dependent on Sasuke's Thats Why I say the Chapter where she chokes and cant bring herself to even defend herself from Sasuke but survives Sealed her fate

cause Sakura is oddly Sasuke's Morality card... If he had killed her, Sasuke would be irredeemable and thus would die at the end... but cause she survived after reaffirming her feelings were too strong for Sasuke that she can't even fight him even after he's tried to kill her TWICE well She was always gonna be Sasuke's Redemption Booty prize

It was over it was done... If Sakura's arc was about her getting over Sasuke, She would have either died rejecting him/lamenting not being able to save him from himself or would have basically finally noticed the feelings of whoever after She rejected Sasuke

The problem was... Well if hypothetically YOU were a Naru-Saku fan/Sakura fan... would you just willing accept that your character is just going with them motions and has just accepted her irrelevancy? or would you double down on CLASSIC SHONEN FORMULA which says Sakura is not Sasuke's Booty Prize cause Fuck Hinata she's a SIDE CHARACTER NOT THE HEROINE! KISHI WOULD HAVE TO BE INSANE NOT TO GO THROUGH WITH IT. I MEAN KUSHINA OUTRIGHT TELLS NARUTO THAT HE NEEDS TO DATE A GIRL LIKE HER NOT SOME 'WEIRD' GIRL

This is why Emma is called a SHONEN HERO instead of Heroine for The Promised Neverland, and her personality fits the mold.

The funny thing is that Sasuke/Sakura is the most popular het ship in fanfics/doujin(I just went and checked). I'm assuming the reason for that is that it's the go-to self-insert ship for all the Sasuke fangirls.

I mean, you said Sakura 'failed' as the heroine, but she actually didn't, right? She achieved exactly what she wanted to do since the beginning of the manga: banging Sasuke. He's the handsome, brooding, innaccesible bad boy that all the girls were crazy for in school, while she's insistently described as very plain and generally unremarkable. By all accounts he should be out of her league. But he still goes with her instead of anyone else(and he had plenty of options). This is honestly just one of those Twilight-esque romances that are always all the rage with teenage girls.

And since we're in the Bleach thread, I'll add that Orihime/Ulquiorra is very popular despite making absolutely no sense and that's probably also Ulquiorra fangirls projecting.

What’s sad is that Ulquiorra‘s final moments with Orihime is more romantic than anything Sasuke & Sakura has ever done.

And yes the whole final reaching out & realizing what a heart is isn’t supposed to be romantic, that’s why it’s fucking sad. It’s a genuinely touching scene that one projecting it as romantic wouldn’t be necessarily seen as that far a reach.

Something Sakura utterly lacks with Sasuke.

Who in their right mind would marry a girl like his mother? That has never worked out. Kushina’s only parenting advice to her son & it was terrible.

I mean if we're going by the logic of people saying she has to be with Naruto because she's the shonen heroine or else she 'fails' as a character. She was still the heroine, but for Sasuke instead of Naruto (and let's be honest, he's almost as much a protagonist as Naruto is).

The point I was trying to make is that while there were many people self-inserting into Sakura that wanted her to get *over* Sasuke because that's what they'd like for themselves, there were also people (actually many more if ff.net and ao3 are anything to go by) self-inserting into Sakura that wanted her to get *with* Sasuke because that's what they'd like for themselves.

Starrk vs. Segunda Etapa Ulquiorra was an excellent way to start a fight for a while.

It's not segunda Etapa. It's their transcendence form. It's even called Beyond Resureccion. It's when the Hogyoku is able to fill the emptiness in their hard and the Espada are thus able to push beyond their limits.

Segunda Etapa is unique to Ulquiorra alone and is the manifestation of his nihilism and the origin of his Hollow race. Since only Ulquiorra predates the current world, only he has Segunda Eapa.
