Just checking. My memory is very shoddy when it comes to names and things I only see every few weeks.
Fight smart, not fair.Well, the Goblin Adventuring Party did leave Brassmoon a few days before the other group.
Maybe this teleporting teapot that Kin is looking for is in the dungeon crawl the GAP is outside.
Hey, a
just occurred to me. Maybe the teapot has something to do with the symbol that's on both Chief's headgear and Saral Caine's belt. After all, Saral Caine was adventuring with Goblinslayer when he caught Kin, and she was questing for it at the time. Not entirely sure how the goblins come into it, though... but I do like how it ties things together.

Be not afraid...I'm still not convinced he's actually going to do it. Yeah, war is bad. Stll going to withhold judgement. If he does it, then he does it. I won't be complaining, but I don't think he will.
Read my stories!I do hope that Chief lives, but right now it doesn't look all that good.
I have to say, I'm awfully curious to see what Kore's reaction would be to seeing Ears. I mean, it has been speculated that Kore might get slowed down because he's not expecting a goblin PC, how about a goblin paladin?
| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |Actually, Kore could tell the kid was being raised by the orc as that orc begged to him to spare the child's life. More importantly, it don't really matter which is Kore definition of evil, in a D&D world (before 4th edition) a paladin is good. Kore probably knows that. For all he believe a paladin goblin is a Logic Bomb so his reaction is unpredictable.
But, of course, only if he can tell Ears is a paladin. It is not like Kore would believe if a goblin tell him he is one. I suspect the axe will have a big role in that revelation (assuming Kore recognize the weapon), but Thac0 is taking it away, so this is not happening now.

. *Sniffs, wipes at eye* Oh damnit Chief, why'd you have to go and do a thing like that? (And a part of my mind wants to ask: why couldn't you do it from behind some cover?!! Hide in the shrubs and launch some spears, then move, recover, and do it again! Buy some time for real, and maybe a chance to live)
A note clarifying my previous post regarding Ears and Kore: it is obvious that Kore encountering a goblin paladin is not going to stop him. Kore is so far gone past the point of no return that he couldn't see the point anymore with a telescope 10X the strength of the Hubble. Still, it would be a great contrast, and what's more, it would be interesting to see whether it resolves or just adds further further fuel to various WMGs.
For example, it's been noted for a long, long time now that Kore has seemed to used magic items to substitute for paladin abilities, and what that could mean. Seeing him face to face with a another paladin, especially one who is from "a race of evil" and yet has those full abilities, and whether Kore would react at all, would be interesting. (As noted, Kore has fought and killed other paladins for the Ax, but all from PC races). It would be interesting to see what happens the first times Ears hits Kore with the Ax. Not to mention learning more about the Fortunte Teller's references to Kore being cursed, and so on and so forth.
There are a lot of possibilities there, and they're all interesting.

| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |Pretty sure Kore never had the axe (Saral Caine killed a paladin for it), even though it seems bizarrely appropriate. I'm reminded of the awesome WMG that the world is actually a gaming session that the DM abandoned and allowed to go off the rails. Kore was either a PC or a blatant DMPC on the scale of Gandalf from DM of the Rings, and the axe exists because he was supposed to get it at some point; a point that was never reached.
Also, pretty sure that Thunt's stated on record that Kore really is a paladin. Or it might've been that he stated on record that he really is high level (because all we've seen him kill so far are XP-fodder orcs), I forget.
Wellp, now it's time to find out. Either he's gonna die and we're all gonna be bawlin or there is gonna be one EPIC twist of events.
I can't honestly decide which one would be more shocking.
Read my stories!@ Brickman:
Kore has never had the Ax, but some of the filler/extras with information about past characters has stated that he has tried to gain ownership of it several times, and been willing to fight and hunt down paladins in order to do so.
| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |Chief, you bastard. That was so wrong. Why in the hell...

Okay, maybe it's just the Hitler Cam perspective, but Kore is way larger than size Medium. Those battle-axes are new too.

Ohhhh. For some reason I thought he was pushing himself up with his arms or that he regained the ability to walk by adjusting his headband (and that it was some sort of magic item I'd forgotten about).
Probably should have applied Occam's Razor, there.
Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuYeah the size discrepancy is Rule of Symbolism. No need for us to get hung up on it.
That magic spear may be cool, but it will probably be a No-Sell nonetheless. Damn, and Kore's personality means we won't even be able to eke some exposition out of him...

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Regarding Kore and the Axe: I can almost guarantee that Kore's eventual fate will be tied to the Axe somehow. Perhaps Ears will swing it towards him, Kore will refuse to budge because he believes it won't harm him, and the Axe will recognise his evil nature and kill him. A bit cliché, but I still think the Axe will lead to his demise in some way or other.
At least Thunt is fairly obvious about his use of Chekhovs Guns. Almost Anviliciously so.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

Was there something confirming that the dungeon they're heading for isn't the one that the other goblin army is hanging out in front of?
