Patch for Yandere was out some days ago. It has lots of Yanderes, apparently. http://fuwanovel.org/novels/97
has a link to the patch, among other things.
World End Economica, a visual novel by the author of Spice And Wolf, gets an official translation
.
interesting Kickstarter poject,he's even going to interview some VN developers, though I don't think he will have time to reach his goal...
Speaking of Kickstarters, Fred Gallager of MegaTokyo is planning a visual novel for the webcomic
. It's already funded, with all bonus characters too. Oh, and if it reaches half a million (it won't, but still), he's adding "Excessively romantic" scenes. Considering this is the guy who famously threatened to quit if he found any Rule 34 of his comic, I think that's kinda funny.
If My Heart Had Wings is looking suspiciously cutesy and saccharine five seconds in. There's a duck with a top hat (I think, I wasn't paying much attention) and I'm supposed to be taking it seriously. Ish. You are not a fine English gentleman, sir! Good day!
Though there's always the chance that wheelchair girl will get her head bitten off or something.
It's not completely terrible. I've noticed a few issues, but it's still perfectly readable so far. I mean, hell, I got through Flyable Heart. This can't be much worse than that.
Oh, an enforced playing order. I guess I can't just go straight for the interesting girls, huh? Eh, fine, the three that have really been emphasized so far are decent enough.
The OP is decent, though it suffers from the problem of all the music in this: It's too mellow and soft. Fluffy.

Rusanon has launched a project to restore cut content (not just sex, but also kissing scenes etc) to IMHHW. Aaeru will be translating at least part of it. More info here http://visualnovelaer.fuwanovel.org/2013/07/project-to-re-add-sex-scenes-back-into-if-my-heart-had-wings-now-underway-nsfw/
(nsfw pictures after the info, so don't scroll down too much).
More translation issues are popping up, indicating a lack of editing. I like most of the cast, but the twins feel kind of superfluous. Masatsugu, Akari and Kanako probably should have had larger roles than they do. Kotori's self esteem stuff was starting to get on my nerves but they actually seem to have gotten past that. Her character also seems kind of inconsistent. As I suspected it would be, the story has been very fluffy so now that it's trying to be dramatic I'm just not really buying it. Plus I have no idea when the story is going to decide that it has been long enough, though I guess I should be near the end of Kotori's route. I think I'm mostly looking forward to Amane's route since something about her intrigues me.
Still, it's a pleasant enough read. Very WAFF. I guess I'm just not entirely in the mood for pure WAFF.
I like the misunderstanding in Amane's route. It's definitely a mistake she'd make. She reminds me of the goofy bits of Usami Haru. Hmmm... I probably should have played Ageha's route before this. I get the feeling it'll be decent, but Amane is a tough act to follow.

Picked back up where I left off now that the restoration patch is out. And suddenly the translation is terrible. This is supposed to be one of the retranslated bits too.
...Ageha is kind of being a dick. I might skip this route.
Skipping Ageha. It's poorly translated and she's suddenly really unsympathetic. Asa and Yoru it is. Apparently, I have to go for Asa first and then there's a route that is probably shared between them. No Yoru by herself. Tch.
Except in the end it basically is Yoru route after all. I think I would probably order my enjoyment of the story as Amane > Yoru > Kotori > Asa, though as always that's heavily influenced by which characters I liked most. Then again, I liked Ageha well enough and didn't even really get started on her route. Overall, it's lacking in drama, but the cast is likable enough. Nothing special, but enjoyable.

this game is actually the first part of a trilogy(whose third and final game was released two months ago.)and the translation team already said they will work on the sequel,Meikyuu, next. The first game recently got a PSP port and an upcoming Vita port, but I wonder if the sequels will get ports because they have some pretty heavy stuff to handle like the usual incest between siblings and even mother/son incest...
given it's a long VN series divided in three games,I hope it delivers something as great and epic as the Muv-Luv series did to us.
I really appreciated how A Profile let the protagonist at the end of the route be able to choose "No, you're still my sister even if we're not related, so no dicking for you" and allow it to still be a perfectly good ending. Because I am really sick of that copout. I suppose I won't be able to see that here.

yeah, but you know, most people in Japan who buy V Ns will like that stuff so the companies are pretty much forced to pander and please them like that... After seeing so much of that stuff,I feel pretty much desensitized,so I don't let that stuff hurt my enjoyment anymore.

I don't really hold it against things anymore unless it's really bad (die, Mia Touma) but I always notice it and I always roll my eyes a little.
I guess it's not a good thing when a protagonist reminds me of Taichi Kurosu, huh? Though I guess I had the same thing going in Rewrite.

I don't think any of the incest elements appear until Meikyuu. Yuuji's sister is already dead as of the beginning of Kajitsu (not particularly a spoiler, he mentions it early on,) and a lot of the next game is apparently flashback.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.Hmm... not quite what I was expecting. I seem to be coming to the end of Yumiko's route, but this has been no more crazy or dramatic than average, really. The way people described this to me I was expecting something like Cross Channel lite.
Also, the sex sound effects really bug me. They sound more like a particularly gruesome murder than anything sexy.

Yumiko's route seems to be widely considered to be the weakest of the five. Moogy and Herki both suggested just playing Makina and Amane's, but I've spent way too long waiting for this game to leave three fifths of it unplayed; I'm starting with Sachi's, since I'm still a bit torn about whether to do Yumiko's at all, but I like to hold off on the routes I'm most looking forward to.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.Oh, so Makina's route is actually pretty good? I wasn't sure I wanted to bother. Trying out Michiru's route next. The buttmonkey stuff kind of stopped being funny and started being pitiful after awhile.
Hm, I could see how Michiru's route might end up much better than Yumiko's. Though for awhile I've been having trouble finding her constant abuse funny rather than pitiful.
Aha, darker stuff. On the other hand, the romance lost credibility compared to Yumiko. An improvement over Yumiko's route, which was sort of lackluster apart from a few high points like the amusement park. Also, I was kind of hoping to see her with her normal hair color.
Sachi's route seems like it is probably going to have some major fireworks. I see we're heading into Hisui territory now. Story is not matching up to Michiru's route, but I guess it's interesting enough. Sachi is entertaining if nothing else, though her issues feel a little forced in comparison to Michiru and Yumiko. Michiru's split personality aside, that is, since that's really just the icing on the cake.
And man, the story really does tell you next to nothing about Yuuji.

Has anybody tried Yumekoi Tensei? Has anybody installed Yumekoi Tensei in the last year? Because I downloaded a recent copy and it just refuses to work. It keeps asking me for the CD. The NoCD AlphaROM patch that came with it refused to work on any of the Xes aside form the reg.exe.
Halp?
