@ Marisashana: No worries, it was my pleasure. By the way, sorry for the long delay at anwsering, I don't visit very regulary this sub-section of the forum. ^^'''
@ Sabbo: I haven't played Kanon, but I do understand Japanese. Please post a screen capture of the opening menu you're talking about, and I'll translate it for you.
"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaePlaying RE Alistair right now. Got Alistair's identity right on the first try but didn't get any of the routes...
I suppose I can, so long as you can help me get the patch to work. Here.
◊
Hope that worked.
For the record, I can (with only some effort) translate Japanese. It's just that this is not the kind of thing I've gone into before; my first VN.
Ok, here goes. Under the title (Kanon), is written:
- Game start
- Continue
- Name change
- Exit game
(With "Game start" meant as "Start game from the very beginning"; "Continue" as "Start game from a previous save")
"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeAll right then...Just finished Saya No Uta. That was quite the thing. I must say I am very fond of it. I like how my feelings on things were never quite static. They were always in an extreme state of flux. I'd sympathize with everyone, I'd hate everyone, I'd be confused by everyone, I'd be disgusted with everyone, I'd find everyone amusing. The endings too had this effect on me. Nothing was solely good or bad. It was all just this confusing mess of feeling. I like that.
I will be starting on Kanon soon...Got it installed and started a bit of it just to see if it worked. Seems to be working fine. The English patching seems to have worked. That's good. I'm not having any issues with it crashing during saves or loads...this is good. Very good.
I should probably finish my Sonohanabira Ni Kuchizuke Wo liveblog first...I've really been putting it off. I have a whole week to finish it...Grandparents are gone so no hiding and waiting so I can play my porn without Granny going "OMFG WHAT ARE YOU DOING".
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahJust finished the Arucied path in Tsukihime.
It's a pretty cool game.
"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."No! Kohaku is the best! Kohaku forever!! Don't make me bring out my menagerie of Kohaku avatars, now.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Finished playing Yume Miru Kusuri, first Japanese visual novel I played ever. It was pretty nice, even though sometimes Aeka's route would hit close to home.
I also finished playing Figures of Happyness. Short and shallow Visual Novel was short and shallow. The art was meh, but I could deal with that. But only a route was cool... -_-

Apparently a full patch for Muv Luv Alternative has been leaked. It's at the usual places.

Would you like to know more?A bit ago I was recommended here to read(?) Kanon and Shuffle. While I have so far not done so, this is because I have been considering doing a liveblog of whichever one I do first.
That said, I have never done a liveblog before (nor related things such as a Let's Play), never read(?) a visual novel before, and the closest thing to a dating sim I've ever played was Persona 3&4. Oh, and I know essentially nothing about Kanon & Shuffle themselves either.
So basically what I'm asking here is for advice on how to pace myself in this utterly blind liveblog I intend to do for a medium and genre I have never partaken of before, and which of Kanon & Shuffle to do for this (or alternatively, which first).
Did You Know That...
Usami from G Senjou no Maou and Chie from Kira Kira have the same seiyuu? I did not!
Now you know!

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.A new visual novel which I enjoyed - "My Magical Cosplay Cafe." It's a free short story from Sakevisual, who has also created RE Alistair and the serious mystery visual novel Jisei. Like her other works, this one is worksafe. But it's a lot less serious. See this Lemma Soft thread for more: http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=9821
For the curious, I have started my liveblog of Shuffle! I intend to update it daily, every morning, for the next two and a half weeks. Updates after that will be less regular, or at least less often.
While it is currently in my sig, here's a reference link for when I eventually change my sig: Click!

Okay. I've got Kanon working... mostly. I don't know how to get the patches ("English Patch" and "Voice Patch") working. I'm able to get in the thing to the opening menu, but it's in Japanese. Not knowing much Japanese right now, I'd rather read it in a language I actually understand.
