Brawlhalla meets those conditions, if you like platform fighters.
SoundCloudRecommend something like the Greek-era God of War games.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. In case I haven't posted here, the Suikoden franchise in general is easily the best I've seen. If you want a couple of weird games that few have probably played, Okage: Shadow King is quirky game that oozes personality. Tsugunai: Atonement has a very unique premise I'm disappointed hasn't been replicated. Grandia 1 and 2 are pretty great (And are on PC and Switch.), and I could go on with many games of several genres.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.Hades is one of those frustrating games where I, as a story-oriented gamer, would really like to experience the story, but I also hate playing hack and slash roguelikes (Is it a roguelike? It looks like it at least has roguelike elements).
Fresh-eyed movie blogIt's very much a roguelike, one-shot runs but accumulating stuff for permanent upgrades along the way. I'm in the same boat, as I love the presentation in all of Supergiant's games, but I'm just not interested in the repetition in the rogue formula. Probably burned myself out with too much Binding of Isaac years ago.

I got my fill of roguelikes with FTL, which I hated to play but loved to be in the world of the game. That one I don't think even has upgrades that last across lives.
Fresh-eyed movie blogI don't know if I should buy Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. I have such a backlog (Bowser's Fury, Dragon Quest XI, Final Fantasy VII, Okami, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, Shovel Knight Treasure Trove, Super Mario 3D World, Tales of Vesperia, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, Xenoblade Chronicles definitive edition) and Person 5 Strikers releases this week.
If you're not craving it right now, it's probably better to wait, unless there's some extremely good sale going on.
That's been my attitude recently, since I have some similarly beefy games on my backlog as well. Though at least no new games are on my radar right now that would add to that (except for Hitman 3, but that still has technical issues that need to be worked out before I pick that up).
Adding to the above, note that there's likely enough to be another sale at a later date. If you leave it now, there's a good chance that you can pick it up the next time.
I have a recommendation request of my own, if I may:
Does anyone know any good mobile RPGs? Specifically, I'm looking for the following:
Technical stuff:
- Available for Android
- Cheap or free
- No serious microtransactions
- A cheap once-off payment for the full version is okay if the main download is a "demo version"
RPG stuff:
- Has a main-quest/story
- Not a hack-and-slash
- Allows fairly free saving and loading
- Minimal, or, better yet, no grinding
- Ideally turn-based, but real-time and even action-y are both okay
- Ideally has side-quests and companions
- Ideally third-person, whether 2D or 3D
I've recently been playing Exiled Kingdoms, which I've thought rather good. However, I'm now taking an extended break from it—in short, I chose the wrong difficulty, it doesn't allow mid-game difficulty switching, and I don't like starting over so shortly after playing. As a result, I'm looking for something to take its place.
Exiled Kingdoms is nevertheless a reasonably decent model for what I might like: a 2D, exploration-heavy game reminiscent of Baldur's Gate, et al, featuring a main quest and lots of side-quests, as well as companions with their own personal quests. It's not perfect to my taste, but it's not terrible either.
So, any suggestions?

My Games & WritingI have recently played and enjoyed Surviving Mars, a game about building a base on Mars and eventually terraforming it. Do you know any similar games? Perhaps on the Moon as well?
Ultimate Secret WarsNot so much terraforming, but Moon Base Alpha can be interesting.
Depending on whether you actually repair the Moonbase or just screw around with the rover and the in-game text to speech function.
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.Looking for anime-style RPGs on the Nintendo Switch, featuring multiple player characters and lots of food to feed them.
Before anyone suggests anything, here are the ones I'm already aware of:
-the Disgaea series
-the Trails Series
-Marenian Tavern Story: Patty and the Hungry God
-Star Ocean: First Departure R
-The World Ends With You: Final Remix
-YS IX: Monstrum Nox
Anyone got other suggestions besides those?

Perimeter is an RTS with real time terraforming, you flatten ground for your buildings and dig trenches for defence; there are also weapons that attack by damaging land under enemy base. (Important note: the publisher considered the game's story to be too psychedelic, so English translation literally has 90% of story and lore cut out, but you can check a walkthrough of the original version with subtitles on YouTube channel of DrrZed.) Maelstrom: The Battle for Earth Begins by the same studio is very imperfect, but the terraforming is fun. Two next installments of Perimeter which came out after first game are just bad and not worth playing. Creeper World series is a spiritual successor to Perimeter, but terraforming was implemented only in third game. Populous and From Dust are god simulators where you can change landscape.
>Armored Core notwithstanding, what are some good mecha games from the 90s?
One Must Fall 2097, a mecha fighting game by Epic Games (then known as Epic Megagames)

A game I've started playing recently is The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. It' like a steampunk version of Diablo. It's got the same "random equipment drops with random bonuses" scheme, which I've always found pretty fun - every piece of gear is something new: one weapon might do more damage, but another one of the same type gives stat bonuses that really help, too.
So I've been hearing good things about Loop Hero. Anyone here played it?
Disgusted, but not surprisedDefender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten is a surprisingly good game, both gameplay and even story wise.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.I'm looking for a suggestion for another RTS/TBS series in the Total War vein to try out. I entered the series with the original Rome, and also enjoyed Medieval 2 and Shogun 2 (save for Realm Divide), but the more recent games aren't my cup of tea.
I recently started playing Age of Empires III which, while enjoyable, isn't quite the same. Can anyone recommend another TW-like series they've enjoyed? (Bonus points if it's available on Steam.) TIA!
There's not alot of games with TW like gameplay really. The Only games that come to mind are the King Arthur games (Which have mixed reviews.) and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and it's expansion Battle March, which are probably somewhat more liked. Unrelated to those, I would like to recommend the Age of Wonders franchise in general, mostly for it's mechanics (Oh hey, taking over the town of another race doesn't just make them magically into your race. Also you can recruit their troops!).
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness. While I'm not the biggest Dragon Quest fan, I love the Rocket Slime games. They're so fun and also very underrated. Sadly, only one game has been released outside of Japan. However, there's a cool Fan Translation of the third game that was released afew years ago. (None of the first game yet tho.)
Looking for gachapon games with food to feed your characters.
Additional criteria:
1) Most foods should apply to only one character at a time. I'm open to some foods applying to your entire party, such as an entire pizza, pie, cake, or poultry item, but something like Genshin Impact is out for having an entire subset of its menu apply to your whole party while consisting of things like a pair of breakfast sandwiches and some fried radish balls on a single stick.
2) Food must be feedable to your player characters. (I've already seen Yokai Kitchen, where you can only serve it to customers.)
3) There needs to be a lot of different foodstuffs, under multiple food groups.
4) Characters should be feedable almost immediately. If you can only feed someone upon reaching something like a particularly high intimacy level (like in Girls X Battle, which doesn't even have any sort of variety either), it's out.
Before anyone starts recommending stuff, here are those I already know about to fulfill the above rules:
-The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross of Light and Darkness
Any other such games out there that might be what I'm looking for?
Has anyone suggested your requests might be a bit too specific for anyone here to offer examples, no matter how many times you ask?

Are there any online free-to-play games where your skill matters more than how much you pay? I love the way Valve monetize Dota 2 with cosmetic items, but don't like the concept of decks from Heartstone. And yeah, I am aware of Fortnite, PUBG, and CS:GO.
