I’m looking for a JRPG with a aesthetic like Code Vein that isn’t Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger, and not Soulslike
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…Try a Shin Megami Tensei game.
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.Which one? I’ve played Persona 4 and 5R, so which mainline one should play?
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…Strange Journey or SMT 4 would be good starting points.
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.Anyone try Othercide so far? It just recently showed up on my radar, but I gotta admit, it looks pretty sweet. I've been looking for a good turn-based tactical rpg anyway.
I'm almost tempted to break my usual "wait a week after release to purchase game" rule.
Disgusted, but not surprisedOkay so Armello has been sitting in my Steam library for years (think I got it from a bundle or somesuch) but I finally gave it a try this weekend and it is GOOD. Gripping aesthetics (think Game of Thrones but in a bright and shiny Funny Animals world) and engaging virtual board gameplay. The quest, prestige/decree and peril systems keep things interesting as you move your character around the board, and while the combat might feel random at first, it's truly satisfying once you've learned to stack your advantages before engaging.
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)Im about two hours into SMT 4 and it’s pretty cool, thanks for the recommendation
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…Does someone knows about a game called "Relicta"?
it is hard to see in the dark when your eyes are blinded by the lightI just got Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator while they were on sale on Steam, and really got into them. Can anyone recommend any other simulators (vehicle, industrial or technical) that don't require a lot of technical knowledge or specialized controllers (I'm using a Dualshock 3)?

♭What. If I want to try one of the Mainline Etrian Odyssey games, would 5 or Nexus be better?
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Armored Core notwithstanding, what are some good mecha games from the 90s?
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…Does Xenogears count?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundSure.
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…Hades just released the v1.0 launch and is officially out of early access after 3 years. It's a roguelite action RPG with a heavy emphasis on character-driven storytelling starring the son of Hades, Zagreus, and his attempts to escape the underworld. Fantastic art direction and music (as is par for the course for Supergiant Games), excellent writing (mythology buffs will love this), extremely fun gameplay and insane replayability — I have hundreds of hours in the game and still come across new stuff. Cannot recommend it enough.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I would say 5 is a more enjoyable introduction, Nexus has a very harsh early game.
Joke? Why are you calling it a joke? You drew a picture of two dudes hugging and wrote "I love hugs!" on it.I would agree but also argue that 4 would be a better introduction to the series than either of those.
Trans rights are human rights.Mario’s Picross for the Super Famicom is an amazingly addictive puzzle game. If you have NS Online or an emulator, check it out.
No More Heroes got put up on the Nintendo eShop. Who would you recommend it to?
Everyone. (As long as they're the appropriate age). I think it's the best introduction to Suda 51's style, and a solid game all-around, so it can serve as a gateway to his other weirder, jankier works.
I'm between Tokyo Xanadu Ex and Tales of Berseria. Which one should I pick?
Back in the heyday of browser-based Flash games, I used to play a game by Popcap called Seven Seas, a turn-based game where you move your ship around a bunch of hazards and then the pirate ships move to try to collide with yours and you have to try to trick them into wrecking on the hazards. I also played a game with the same mechanics but it was a penguin moving around a football field.
Are there any games out there with this mechanic that might be more accessible now?

Kinda reminds me of a few minigames in the Mario Party series. idk how 1:1 the comparison is because I haven't played that game but yeah that sounds pretty familiar.
Anyone know of a fun, lighthearted, pulpy fantasy RPG? Every RPG I look into lately is trying desperately to be grim&gritty so hard that it forgets that people get into speculative fiction for escapism
One angry houseplantWhen it comes to lighthearted rgps, Dragon Quest is where my mind goes first.
SoundCloudTrails in the Sky is a good one. You could start with some of the later ones, but TITS FC(heh) is one of the most lighthearted and wholesome RPG's out there. Later games and subseries get more serious, and even FC's ending leads up to that. But they retain that core sense of idealism and positivity the first game started with.

Video Game/Stuntman. You get to be a stunt driver, and its great fun. This really could use a PS 5 release.
