Ooh, that does look good, thank you!
Unfortunately, it looks—and I'd be happy to be corrected—as though the Android version may be only available for tablets, not 'phones. :/
I may well add the PC version to my GOG wishlist for a potential future purchase, however!
I've had one suggestion on another forum, and found two other possible games, and would appreciate thoughts on them; the games in question are Delver, Pixel Dungeon and Quest of Dungeons—does anyone know whether they're any good? (We don't seem to have articles on any of them, as far as I see.)
Delver, at least, looks somewhat promising. Pixel Dungeon I just discovered to have been recommended in this very thread just above my first post, but some of the reviews in the Play store note, if I have it correct, a recently-added "item degradation" feature that seems to have soured the gameplay for some. I don't have much one way or another on Quest of Dungeons at the moment.
[edit] I've decided to go with Delver.
If anyone thinks that I'm particularly missing out on some game or another, however, I'm open to suggestions. ^_^

My Games and Asset PacksThat looks like something quite different. :P
I haven't played much thus far, but I'm having fun being slaughtered by Delver. I'm not a huge fan of the control scheme (I'm most used to keyboard-and-mouse, and this game uses what seems to essentially be an emulated twin-stick system), but otherwise I'm happy. ^_^
My Games and Asset PacksI'm looking for a good a PS 3 RPG that's not a Final Fantasy game, a Souls series game, a Bioware game, a Bethesda game, Star Ocean, White Knight Chronicles, or Dragon's Dogma. I've been thinking about Ni No Kuni, but any recommendations are welcome.

Anything from the Tales Of Series. (Symphonia,Graces,Xillia 1&2)

"checksGameplayVideo"
Yup the combat is similar.
As with Final Fantasy each game has its own story so you can start with every game that isn't obviously a direct sequel (Symphonia:Doan W, Xillia 2).
Check the Tales Series Thread
if you have questions on which game you should start with.

Ohohohohohoh! If you want an emphasis on strategy, you cannot go wrong with Fire Emblem. Games seven and eight, Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones, are for the GBA. I recommend doing them in that order, since 7 is the core Fire Emblem experience while 8 is more diverse. If you want more focus on levelling your individual units than on having to think startegically (ie, more RPG than strategy), you must play Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Excellent game and has a ton of content. Tactics Ogre The Knight Of Lodis is similar, but less polished, being something of a spiritual... cousin?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I liked Skyrim, and Fallout 3.
I liked how the player character could start off as a prisoner condemned to death, or as a boy searching for his dad, but ultimately become a badass armored in the bones of dragons, or a badass with a belt of mini-nukes and a right hook that can murder robots and giant ants.
What I didn't like about was how... all in all, I didn't really feel like that guy. Few acknowledged me as such. The worlds were so.. empty. Previous quests hardly affected new ones. Sure I was a werewolf. Sure I blew up Megaton. Who cares?
What I want is an RPG of similar scale and design, with enough NPC interaction and dialogue to make you feel like you'v actually done epic things and have something to show with it, rather than just giving you 500-1000 caps and a nice suit of armor. A game where previous quests affect later ones in subtle ways, instead of blatant "you killed that guy, now you can't talk to this person, and you didn't take his key, so you can't steal his stuff" ways.
An RPG where I wear this badass armor and someone goes, "Woah, how did you get that?" An RPG where I kill 50 assassins, and that feat gets me into the local tavern for free". Or something close to that.

While this isn't a WRPG, you may be interested in The Legend of Heroes: Trails In The Sky. It's famous for having well-fleshed-out NP Cs with unique and distinctive dialogue and sidequests that "actually matter" to them, to the point where having a completed file from the first game will affect their dialogue in the second game (whose localization is upcoming).
I'd recommend Bio Ware games in general, if that's what you're after. Specifically stuff like Dragon Age or Knights of the Old Republic.
There's also Planescape Torment and The Witcher. Though neither o c those gives you much control over your character's backstory.

Wasteland 2, chief. Though I don't think it quite fits the scope you're looking for, it's got some very do-or-die consequences in a lot of places that changes the flow of the game. If nothing else, it might be worth looking into to see if it's your cup of java :3

Though I feel like it should have gotten a lot more praise, you might wanna consider checking out "Tomba!" for some sweet PS 1 platforming action. If you're looking for more 3D oriented stuff, Gex 3: Enter the Gecko might be up your alley, and in an equally similar vein to Crash Bandicoot.
The ol' Playstation had lots of great gems. Metal Gear Solid, Ridge Racer 4, Ape Escape — definitely all stuff worth checking out :)
Twitchin' Dem' Gamez.Syphon Filter, Crash Team Racing, the first three Spyro games... The PS 1 was the best console of its generation by far, IMO.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.

Thank you for the suggestion! ^_^
Hmm... It's not really my type of game, however...
Indeed, on second thought, I may be a bit picky for so vague a question; on top of that, I've subsequently found The Room 2 as a potential (short-term, at least) source of puzzle-game enjoyment.
So, if I may, let me ask a more focussed question:
Does anyone have any recommendations of Android rogue-lites or Western RP Gs?
Specifically, I'm looking for games that:
I'm not really looking for a sci-fi game at the moment (so FTL is out, for one), but fantasy or horror would work nicely, I believe.
