Imageless:: Hijacked By Ganon

Back in the mists of time, before the point where the history button can fathom, Hijacked by Ganon had a pretty damned clever picture that appeared to load an image of an imposing, if generic-looking, villain, line by line like a GIF, but right before the image finished it was replaced wholesale by a picture of Ganondorf.

Later, that image was replaced by a static picture of the Twilight Princess villain, whoever he is, with Ganondorf's head pasted on. It was far less clever and if you hadn't played TP it wasn't even immediately clear that the picture had been doctored at all. At some point in the past, again before the page history currently shows, it was removed.

So. Is it possible to get the first picture back? Does the file still exist anywhere? Or does anybody have a better idea?

The first one was taken down when we stopped using animated page images. So there's no chance of getting it back, because we don't do animated page images any more (I think there are two left on the site, that the admins have said can stay.)

How about somthing like this?

I'm sorry. That tells me nothing. It could be a character progression for all the pictures get across. Which means that the caption would have to do all the work, which would land it back here as Just A Face And A Caption.

This image that's being used on Knight of Cerebus I think works well, since it shows a villain being hijacked by another.

Unless someone else can come up with a better image.

^ looks awful to me. Seems to be a freakish child pulling someone along by their ear.

It's not literally about being hijacked. That image has nothing to indicate which is the new villain or the old villain, or even that they're both villains.

If we can find some screencap of dialog which shows the big reveal, maybe we can use that for the page image? Either from TP, Spirit Tracks, or something that isn't even Zelda related.

"We're still flying." "That's not much." "...it's enough."

Not all Zelda games do. Presumably Skyward Sword won't concern him, considering it's before Oo T.

Yeah, unless Ganondorf can freaking time-travel, we won't be seeing him in Skyward Sword.

How about the standard "Weegee stares at someone" for the first two panels, then in the third his head is unexpectedly replaced by Ganon's?

As a thought?

Maybe sort of a visual list of final boss by game. Under Twilight Princess, we have a picture of Zant, which has a big red X on it and has another picture of Ganondorf shunting Zant out of the picture.

Actually, now that I think about it, it may be better to do the same thing, but the punchline is Vaati instead of Zant, because there are a good deal more games with Ganon as the final boss than Ganondorf, and I don't think we can really mix the two forms of Ganon without it being confusing.

If we use Ganon, then the list can be as follows:

Legend of Zelda: Ganon. A Link To the Past: Ganon. Ocarina of Time: Ganon. Oracle of Seasons / Ages: Ganon. Four Swords Adventures: Vaati Ganon.

Right, so here's a rough version of my idea. It needs some cleaning up, I understand, but I think the basic idea is represented.

You were expecting someone else?

Little bump, to bring this back into view.

For Oracle of Ages/Seasons, you could also have Onox and Veran Xed out, since they're pretty much the main villains until right at the very end.

Belief or disbelief rests with you.

Hm... hadn't thought about that.

I've sort of got the feeling that it would kind of diminish the effect of the "punchline" if it were done twice.

Idunno, what do you think?

[up] I think it's hard to tell without seeing it, but I am also suggesting that you do more work for free, so telling me to stuff it would be understandable :D

I don't think that would ruin the joke, it's not about a punchline:

  1. big bad: ganon
  2. big bad: alice ganon
  3. big bad: bob ganon
  4. big bad: charlie ganon

(etc)

also I would keep the relative sizes of the type/logo and ganon similar from frame to frame, it looks like he is getting closer, not just higher rez/detail

Yeah that makes sense.

...wait!

I could turn it into a joke across all three of the ones that happen after the first, now that I think about it.

LOZ: Ganon. ALTTP: Agahnim Ganon. OOX: Onox / Veran Ganon. FSA:Vaati Ganon.

Just drive the point home like that.

...now if only the first ganon had a Trident... or is it understandable that it's the same guy?

So, to recap: I'll do the strike and cover thing for three of the four, and resize the Ganons so they're roughly the same size? (though I do think that the last one should be bigger, because he is the biggest incarnation of Ganon the series has done so far...)

edit: blah. Ninja'd with the same idea.
