This, from Tales Of Phantasia? All of the other usual party members are seasick, if I recall this part of the game correctly.
I have to nominate this phenomenal artwork from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance that highlights one of the climaxes with the game, Ike's battle against the Black Knight.

This doesn't really say Video Game to me. Since this is a Videogame trope, I'd much rather a Videogame/gameplay example than what looks like "Generic Fantasy Art #95545850"

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Anyway, I agree with Enlong; viewers should be able to surmise that it's from a game. And if they can't, the image would link to a game page anyway.
If I needed to, though, I could probably find some in-game image of them fighting, but it wouldn't look as good.

Awfully too similar to a fighting game, I would say.
About a non-gameplay image. Sure, viewers should be smart enough to presume the image is from video game in a video game trope. But this trope is not particularly obvious a video game trope. 'Boss' can be used outside the video game context even with a similar meaning.
A game play pic would be better, therefore.
I think the important part is not that the image is clearly from a video game (who cares?), but that it shows the "rest of the party" standing back to let the "hero" deal with the boss one on one.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The Fire Emblem picture is a bit weird since if you're familiar with the game you'll realize that every battle in the entire game looks like this. Whenever anyone attacks anyone else it zooms in to a scene where only those two characters exist.
That was my exact thoughts.

Being part of a video game is important. But what you said is, indeed, more so. I am pretty sure I've played a game with this situation clear, but I don't remember witch. =/ Maybe Chrono Trigger when Frog confront Magus?
I like the first one, it's not much of a spoiler is it? That you have to fight that boss 1v1?
Any larger source? The text isn't quite illegible, but it's close.

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:

While the picture itself seems to be fairly indicative of the trope, it's a fairly poor quality picture. We should be able to do better than that. Anyone got a good quality image that's also indicative of the trope?
Old Picture:
and that's how Equestria was made!
