During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Yes to the Madam and Shark.
To be fair to Ordeaux, Shark was specifically previously effortposted by the ban-evader Harley Quinn Is Great, if I recall correctly (who never wrote up the candidate before being bounced).

Yiu and Shark. Now for yet another disgusting parasite:
What is the work? Creeped Out is a Lighter and Softer horror anthology series that is frequently described as "Black Mirror but for kids". Contained within a Shared Universe where aliens, witches, evil AI and all sorts of mythological creatures are real, each episode focuses on a different set of teenagers having to deal with supernatural occurrences. We're going to be discussing the villain of the show's fan-favorite episode, Cat Food.
Who is the Koekoeken? A legendary creature of folklore that has existed for thousands of years, the Koekoeken is a humanoid parasite with the mentality of a wisecracking, body-snatching sociopath. It prolongs its own life by possessing the bodies of children and teenagers, abandoning them once they grow too old for its liking; the Koekoeken regularly bathes in cat food to absorb high amounts of taurine, which it needs to maintain its form.
The Koekoeken's latest victim was Stu's elderly neighbor, Mrs. McMurtle, it lived inside of her for her entire life before deciding to find a new host, and Stu is the perfect choice for the Koekoeken, even showing him pictures of the several hosts that it had through the years, gleefully remarking that it is excited to live as a boy again. Unfortunately for the Koekoeken, it can't simply take a body by force, first it needs to "win" them in a competition, blackmailing Stu into challenging her.
Suggesting that they play a game of cards, Stu wins by using a camera beneath the table, forcing the Koekoeken to accept defeat. So is the Koekoeken a Noble Demon? Nope! It simply switches its attention to Stu's sister, Kelly, and takes over her body by cheating at its own game just to spite the boy, thanking him for teaching it a new trick.
Mitigating Factors? Mrs. McMurtle's garden has graves for her cats, but that's just part of the Koekoeken's "innocent old lady" persona, it doesn't even mention them. The Koekoeken implies that there are more members of its race, we don't know how many of them are hiding among us, or even if they have its same sadistic preference for children.
Heinous? With its modus operandi, the Koekoeken is easily the worst villain of the show, period. Other notable bad guys are:
- Kirkwoi/Stan: The manipulative commander of an alien army trying to invade Earth.
- Zephaniah: A Repulsive Ringmaster that kidnaps animals, turns them into humans, and exploits their natural abilities for his own circus.
- Faye: A "psychic vampire" that feeds on both negative emotions and blood, using her position as a school therapist to find victims.
- The Hidden: A Mad Artist specializing in stealing faces and selling them to interested clients. He's portrayed by Richard Brake, so that's a bonus.
Conclusion?

for Madam Yiu
Weird movie and a weird villain but still a
for Shark. Not that it really matters since he was already aprroved.
Also, peaceful planet of Battlestar? Really?
for Koekoeken. Rare to a have CM who doesn’t (attempt) to murder, torture or rape anyone. But yeah, taking over the bodies of children and only releasing them when they are old and frail is pretty horrible.
Hey guys, I have an idea. In Masahiko Minami's entry from Kamen Rider 555 we have this line: When the laboratory is attacked by an enraged Kiba, Minami leaves his staff to die and escapes to save his own skin. I offer to replace Bad Boss with Dirty Coward. Whatcha thinking about it?
Say, how much of a And I Must Scream situation is the body snatching treated like?

You're right. Koekoeken was EPed before
. It was downvoted back then.
I'm geniunly impressed how you remembered a three year's old EP.
Personally I keep my up vote. It basically stole the life of at least seven people by possessing them when their were children and only released them once they were seniors. That’s sound pretty horrible to me, even if it’s just seven victims.

I'll give a
to him. The others, action wise, sound a smidge worse, but the Fridge Horror, alongside being fairly unique, really helps it to stand out.
BTW, I tried to find a Undertale/Binding Of Issac crossover Fan Fic I read I while ago, remembering that version of Chara to be pretty bad, but I can't find it for the life of me. It seems that it was deleted from the internet.
Or, in more humorous terms, it got Thanos'd.

I'm fine with that pothole change to Dirty Coward, though either one works I'd think.

I went through my normal procedure of checking if he was already brought up and I couldn't find the film being mentioned once on this thread. Sorry if he was already brought up though I wasn't aware.
