During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

to Mysterio quote.
Hi guys, sorry I didn't get back to the people who addressed me before concerning my Helltaker fanfic. I guess currently no one is interested and I would like to clarify that I'm not writing it solely to try and get a CM approved. I have positive feedback for once concerning this fic and I intend to keep on going with it.
ok lets try this again
Take 2
Who Is He
- Gorganus, the Big Bad from the low budget Power Rangers rip off Series/Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills
What Has He Done
- He's a Evil Overlord who has conquered numerous planets and wants to take over Earth because it's apparently the nexus for some sort of Portal Network that will allow him to rule the universe (although we never actually see such portals, and instead he results to sending giant monsters to attack cities.) While he may seem like a Generic Doomsday Villain, he's quite a bit worse than you would expect. He's apparently killed off entire planets, Including Nimbar's own as well as their associated Galactic Sentinel teams. In one episode we even meet the Sole Survivor of such a team who's teammates and planet are gone, and who seems to have lost all hope and become a Shell-Shocked Veteran. Other crimes include trapping the Sentinels an endless nightmare were everything goes bad and Nimbar dies, likely with the hope they'd just give up, or using the Sorcerer's wand to Mind Rape Nimbar into telling the Sentinels Gorganus left and they can quite, allowing a bucnh of monsters to invade all over the world unopposed until they free Nimber, at which point he reveals he was still aware but couldn't do anything, and trapping the entire population of Earth in a crystal and trying to make the Sentinels give him Nimbar. He's also a most cruel master, who, in his very first scene sentences a monster to the a living death on Straken Toil Mines just because he didn't destroy Nimbar even though he found some valuable map, and torturing Isoles by trapping her in a sulfur pit on some other planet. He also abuses Lechner (a vulture like thing that is basically The Dragon, though he doesn't really do anything) constantly.
Redeeming Traits
- none at all
Heinousness
- Hes definitely the worst villain, as the various monsters barely have any characterization, and Lechner doesn't really do anything (except in one episode where he's left in control but is more of a Clueless Boss and most of the damage he does is due to his own incompetence)
Verdict?
- I would say yes. despite how cheap and cheesy the show is, he's pretty damn horrible.

Wait. Since we're making a Crossover Fan Works page. Doesn't that mean we need a new image for the Fan Works page since it's technically from a Crossover between Mario and Sonic?
Abstain on Gorganus.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadTBH...I recognize the American toku (PW and its rip-offs) have had keeps and near-keeps before, silly and low-budget as they are, but to be perfectly frank, the untrustworthy circumstances of the EP and the fact the OP admitted there were spots they missed before have killed my confidence.
I'm not sure how much credence I can give "And I Must Scream" being applied to "trap the Earth in a crystal" because that sounds like a family-friendly substitute for Kill All Humans. "Apparently" having killed planets is the past is not a glowing endorsement and the effortpost makes it out to be Offscreen Villainy. Sending MOTW to attack cities could be shrouded in Fridge Horror. I could go on; nothing about the EP makes it glowingly obvious anything is really being pushed beyond the medium.
I'm abstaining. I'm not saying no outright because the genre has produced genuine CMs before, but it's a series I'd either need to see for myself (which is never gonna happen) or a series that requires a better, more thought-out EP for me to get a good, objective gauge on his qualifications.

You know what, I am actually changing this to a
after further consideration. The american toku that did produce C Ms were somewhat serious, or the villains were genuinely standing out as awful. Not seeing this here.
Is there literally even one flashback to him blowing up a planet? Because if not? It's Offscreen Villainy, which doesn't count toward an onscreen rapsheet.
@UltimateDemonBeast65 I'll take care of it.
J’m’arrête pas tant qu’j’vois pas des lignes sur les moniteurs (Not stoppin 'til I see Flatlines)No but there are a couple of Sole Survivor s (Nimbar and the former Sentinel who has his whole team Killed Off for Real.
Better write up, but sadly I don’t think Gorg makes the cut (It’s a show called Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills for god’s sake)

Maybe so, he kind of strikes me as a Vile Villain, Saccharine Show type deal, but I guess I'm the only one.

'Ight, as discussed, here's an EP for the HOA season 2 ghosty, Senkhara:
What is the Work?
House of Anubis is a 3-season mystery and drama show that ran on Nickelodeon, and in season 3, TeenNick. It focuses on the students of Anubis House, including the Sibuna Club, a team of mystery-solving teens who're often in conflict with their shady teachers, especially their housefather, Victor. One of these students, Nina Martin, is The Chosen One.
In the second season, Nina and her friends are being cursed and haunted by an evil ghost named Senkhara. She will be our candidate.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
Senkhara, as mentioned, is a ghost that appears in the second season of the show to, essentially, bully Nina and her friends into finding a mask for her. This mask, known as the Mask of Anubis, is an artifact hidden away by Egyptologist Robert Frobisher-Smythe, behind a series of tunnels full of deadly traps and strange riddles. Senkhara's goal is simply to possess the mask, but with no physical form, she can't get it herself. You may also be asking why a spirit would want a mask, and we'll get to that later.
During the show, Senkhara makes her intentions very clear. If Nina and her friends cannot get the mask for her, they die. She seals the deal for the threat by cursing them all, first Nina, then Fabian, and then the rest of Sibuna. Not only can their curse marks be used to hurt them whenever she wants to, they can also be used to do terrible things to them, and of course, to kill them. So, Nina and her friends are forced to do her bidding, seeking out the mask while she constantly pushes Nina to keep going faster. Unfortunately, Victor is also hunting for the mask, meaning that Sibuna is constantly having to deal with his sabotage and progress. This is a bad thing, because Senkhara doesn't just want the mask- she wants it ASAP, before an unspecified "Time Piece" runs out. This will also come up later.
So, Nina and her friends are cursed, and not only that, but they're cursed thanks to Senkhara infiltrating their dreams. She also messes with them psychologically, for example, disguising herself as Fabian when cursing Nina. She traps Nina, Fabian, and Amber in a Shared Dream of their school's masquerade ball and it ends with Nina being pushed into the literal chasm in the tunnels. The dream almost comes true, meaning that Senkhara literally almost murdered Nina because she could, and because Nina wasn't working quickly enough.
Later, when Nina attempts to stand up for herself, Sibuna gets double cursed- things that Nina say to her friends are twisted into becoming curses, meaning that Fabian loses his memory, Amber ages, Alfie de-ages, and Patricia loses her ability to speak. This specific curse also ends up being a gradual worsening process- they slowly get worse, until they're all at the peak of their curses and have lost almost all of their ability to progress through the tunnel. To make matters worse, this specific tunnel task involves an ancient song nobody alive has ever heard, and breaking this curse requires the task be beat. They do manage to figure it out though- and only because Senkhara gave them her help.
Yeah, Senkhara does actually help Sibuna twice in the season. Besides giving Nina the tune to the song, she also later ensures their progress by sabotaging Victor and cursing his ally- Vera is literally petrified, unable to move but able to see and hear, and this forces Victor to let Sibuna take the lead. So, why would Senkhara offer them her help if she's also threatening to kill them every day? Simple- because Nina is the one who needs to get the mask for her. Helping Sibuna is a pragmatic act; if they can't progress, she can't get her mask.
Moving on, the second half of the season begins to make some reveals. For starters, Senkhara was, in life, King Tut's Wicked Stepmother. She's also the one who murdered him, and her evil acts became so infamous that people would no longer speak her name. For the longest time, she was only called the "Forgotten Ruler". The next Senkhara-related twist is the reveal of what the "Time Piece" is.
Or, rather, who.
Nina and Fabian are visiting Nina's sick Grandmother in the hospital. She'd been suffering from symptoms all season and had been hospitalized for several episodes. In this visit, Nina and Fabian make a horrifying discovery- her grandmother is the Time Piece. Not only is she herself cursed and has been slowly dying thanks to Senkhara's magic, but her life was what Nina was being timed with. If she didn't get the mask in time, her Gran would be killed. This is emphasized in a chilling scene where Senkhara possesses her her grandmother and threatens her with black eyes and everything.
With raised stakes, Sibuna is desperate to get the mask. Unfortunately, it's behind the last and worst tunnel, which is a giant game where the human players have to play against evil stone Anubis statues. Get caught by the statue and you're dropped into a secret, inescapable room. Nina gets captured and Sibuna is devastated. Senkhara uses this as an excuse to almost murder everyone, Gran included, until Fabian convinces her to give them some more time. They get three days. With those three days, Sibuna scrambles to rescue Nina and get the mask, losing more of their teammates with each game. Eventually however the game is won, and a Sadistic Choice is posed- either the mask is unlocked, or their fallen friends are saved.
As a result of sacrificing the mask's key, Senkhara is of course pissed, and she makes it clear to Nina that if she can't get the mask ASAP, her gran dies, and then so do her friends, one-by-one. Fabian is the only one who might be spared, as the show is hinting that he's the Osirian, AKA the chosen one's protector, and another candidate for "Designated Mask Getting Slave".
Why is Nina and the Osirian so important to Senkhara? Simple. As discussed, she has no physical form, and no ability to wear a mask. But Nina can. While this allows the mask to produce "Tears of Gold", it also allows the Chosen One to enter the Egyptian Afterlife and become a Goddess. Senkhara's entire goal is to get Nina to wear the mask, so she can possess Nina, and use her body to live in the Egyptian Afterlife. When the mask is finally in Nina's hands, she agrees to wear the mask if it means her friends and family are safe. Luckily, Eddie is revealed as the Osirian in the nick of time. He banishes Senkhara, but not before she can take Nina's body and almost kill Joy with a lightning bolt.
She winds up possessing Rufus Zeno as he himself attempts to use the mask. Due to Rufus's impure heart, they're both dragged into Egyptian Hell.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
The only thing that comes close to a mitigating factor is the fact that she did, as mentioned, help Sibuna out once or twice. But she did this unhappily and with a purely selfish motivation, and when doing so, ended up hurting another person. She has no deeper backstory than "Murdered King Tut", so she's got no Freudian Excuse to speak of, and is portrayed throughout the series as being psychopathic and cruel, taking delight in torturing Nina and her friends. She's also shown to be so terrifying that everyone who sees her is immediately scared of her, whether it's Nina, her friends, or Victor and Vera.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
In season 2, there were two other villains also competing for the mask. One of them is the aforementioned Victor, who may spend his time being really mean to the kids, but also is a case of Even Evil Has Standards- he gets furious when Vera suggests that it's okay if the kids get hurt, and is the one to save Joy's life in the end. He's an Anti-Villain at best.
The other one is Rufus Zeno, Season 1's main threat. Rufus is evil through and through, but he's also generally less of a nuisance. In this season, his worst acts are kidnapping people. He has zero regard for anyone's life, but he's not breaching the same level as Senkhara.
So, in other words, Senkhara defines the HS of Season 2, being constantly willing to kill Sibuna at a moment's notice and making their lives a living Hell every day. She's the main villain of the season and is the most evil and threatening character in the show until season 3, but even then, her actions are cruel enough to stand out.
Final Verdict?
I told this to Future and Bull in our first HOA discussion- I think she's an easy "yes", and perhaps the only easy "yes" in the show.
