During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Okay, looks like I found another good candidate, this time from a Syfy Channel Original Movie known as Reign of the Gargoyles. In this case, it's yet another Nazi officer, SS-Obersturmfuhrer Mueller.
What is the Work?
Reign of the Gargoyles is a Sci-Fi slash Horror movie set in the midst of the War in Europe and Africa, specifically around the time of the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. Becoming increasingly desperate, the Nazis are looking for any way to hold back the Allies, whether through occult research or advanced weaponry. During this search, an SS archaeological group working under the Thule Society discovers a way to summon monsters by sacrificing human blood to a statue of a gargoyle. They successfully perform the ritual, only to find out that the gargoyles in question take orders from no one, and subsequently begin slaughtering any humans they find, whether they be Allied, civilian, or German. Eventually, Supreme Allied Headquarters dispatches a platoon of British Paratroopers from the 6th Airborne Division into Northern France in order to find a way to contain the monsters. Joining them are an Allied bomber crew, whose B-17 was downed by a group of the gargoyles, and members of the French Resistance, the leader of whom knows of a way on how to stop the gargoyle threat for good. The Nazis, however, in increasing desperation, send an SS company to France in an attempt to find a way to control the gargoyles as well as wipe out the British Paratroopers and French Resistance.
Who is SS-Obersturmfuhrer Mueller and what has he done?
SS-Obersturmfuhrer Mueller is a member of the Thule Society, and a lieutenant in the Waffen-SS. He is tasked by his commanders to find a way to regain control of the Gargoyles his fellow SS officers had let loose. In addition, he is also tasked with wiping out the British Paratroopers and French Resistance forces in the area, especially when he finds out about their plan to stop the gargoyle threat. However, instead of actually focusing on finding a way to control the gargoyles, he ends up ordering a massacre on an entire French village, including threatening several defenseless old men, women, and children, for collaborating with the British as well as housing several Resistance members, despite many of them being innocent bystanders. Later, when he captures one of the Allied airmen and a wounded British Paratrooper, instead of simply executing them, he orders his men to tie them up and leave them for the gargoyles to find, giving them a Cruel and Unusual Death. As his men sustain casualties from the Allied soldiers, he ends up leaving many of them to die, and by the time he's killed, his entire unit is wiped out, him only having survived because he chose to hide and cower.
Mitigating Factors?
None. He simply killed those soldiers and civilians ruthlessly because he could, regardless of whether the gargoyles were present or not. He even tells his last two captives that simply shooting them on the spot would be too kind of a punishment from him.
Meets the Heinousness Standard?
When humans prove to be just as monstrous, if not more, than actual monsters (in this case, the Generic Doomsday Villain Gargoyles), you know that they're probably the real monsters in this case. In contrast to the gargoyles who simply attack humans on their primal instinct, Mueller took the time to kill various innocent civilians over doing his actual mission.

I'm still reading the rest of the sTories in neverland w/o that will come later but in the meantime (and with thanks to 43110 for help with queen). Here's these two.
- To Kill a Kingdom: The wicked Queen of Sirens is Lira's abusive mother and a genocidal sociopath who forces sirens to attack and sink human ships. Trying to force Lira to kill a human prince to indoctrinate her on her ways, the Queen becomes furious when Lira does not rip the boys heart out and nearly forces Lira to kill her cousin to repent, only waning when the Queen's sister offers to let the Queen kill her instead. When Lira disappoints her again, the Queen renders her mortal and demands her daughter bring her a powerful artefact to exterminate mankind. When Lira turns the sirens against her tyrannical mother, the Queen resolves to boil the entire ocean to exterminate her own people.
- Gary Nathan, from season 4's "Pukana" is a cold, cruel Serial Killer who kidnaps young women and then has them tortured till they break before dealing a gunshot wound to the back of the head when they've fully broken, having done this to fourteen women. Gary to relive the experience removes one of their fingers and takes photos of their corpses before dumping their bodies. When a burglar discovers his finger collection, Gary kills him and puts Hawaii Five-0 on his tail as a result. Capturing Agent Chin Ho Kelly when he investigates, Gary begins to beat him and tries to break his will by showing him pictures of his victims before trying to murder his own girlfriend on the chance she may find out what he's been doing.

I just rewatched the movie on Cable TV a few weeks back. It's really good. I'm even surprised at the amount of Shown Their Work for a low-budget film like it. They even took the time to render several accurately detailed Allied and German planes in CGI.

to Duncan. While a lot of what he does is on behalf of Dekkom, he still plays a major role in it and attempting to destroy the ship is all him from what I recall. This was an interesting watch, but definitely NOT a good movie.
Should he be written up with Dekkom or separately?
I'm trying to figure out which candidates I want to do next, but now I'm second-guessing a few of them. Not like I don't already think long and hard about who is worth it and who is not. I do.
