During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. " to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

skeletor
Like cobra commander him having this pure many evil incarnations is pretty weird considering how goofy he was in the original 80's series.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I fixed the Sonic thing.
Sure to Skeletor.
It's weird, because both the original Skeletor and Commander were CM's.

I brought up this writeup that wasn't good. Anyone familiar with this game who could make a rewrite?
—signature not found—Okay, someone clarify something for me: If Stuart doesn't care about his men, why did he order the plane crash after his men were killed? He even says "Except losing our own team wasn't part of the plan".
Anyway:

CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsDisobedience from airport stuff. He is annoyed that they "get out of line" and he put "them back to their place". The fact that he never goes after John McClane (who was the one who killed them in the first place), despite having many opportunities to do so, says a lot about his "care" for his men. Its John McClane, who always attacks him first, Stuart forgot about his men the moment he got close to getting his cash and when he "teached the airport their lesson" with crashing a plane.

That's fair; hell, I'm just willing to chalk it up to Pragmatic Villainy: He knows he needs his men.
EDIT: BTW, I'm feeling the next page will be either Elfes et Nains or Warhammer 40,000 & its expanded universe.

It is fun to think that there is a version that was touched by the Christmas spirit.
Welcome to the thread.

What's the work?
The New Adventures of He-Man is a 4 issue mini-comic series, created to promote a toy line (There is also a cartoon that based on this toy line with the same name). The premise◊ is that group of travelers◊ from future meet with He-Man to ask him to save them from the mysterious attacks that endanger people of planet Primus. He-Man agreed and traveled with them to the future (changing his looks to match a toyline version), but Skeletor sneaked on their ship and thus escaped to the future with them, desiring to further wreak chaos (also having a change of his appearance to match toyline). Leading the army of evil mutants, Skeletor resume his quest for power, as He-Man tries to stop him.
My candidate from this mini-series is obviously Skeletor.
Who is Skeletor?
As always, Archenemy of He-Man, Skeletor introduced tricking travelers from the future◊ in to having their ship absorb◊ Power of Greyskull, planning to steal it from them later. As he was about to steal them, Prince Adam (who can't turn◊ in to He-Man because of the fact that Power of Greyskull was transferred to the ship) and the crew of the ship stopped◊ Skeletor. Prince Adam managed◊ to turn◊ in to He-Man by taking the powers from the sword (which was on the ship) that was where Power of Greyskull has transferred to, burning Skeletor in process. Skeletor◊ escaped◊, healed his injuries◊ (changing his appearance to look like Skeletor from the new toyline) and ten his pod landed on planet Denebria, where evil mutants have taken their stolen crystal, that controls the atmosphere of planet Primus, thus endangering it, as the atmosphere started disintegrating and would collapse, if crystal doesn't returned back to Primus. Mutant's leader Flogg screamed◊ at his minions◊, as he ordered them to get the missile, not the crystal (also he himself didn't knew what the crystal was exactly and what did it do). Arriving◊ there, Skeletor forced◊ Flogg and his mutants to work him. Ordering◊ the mutants to chase their escaped captive Astrosub and tries◊ to shoot◊ him down on a battle plane. Later Skeletor challenges◊ He-Man to try to take away the crystal from him, as people of Primus report that planet comes closer and closer to its destruction. Ambushing◊ He-Man on Denebria, Skeletor refused◊ to give him the crystal, despite He-Man telling him that Primus will die, if crystal is not returned, and then throws away◊ the crystal to distract He-Man and escape◊. Planning◊ to get to Titus before He-Man delivers the crystal there to fix the situation at Primus, Skeletor teleports◊ the captured mutants to himself to help with his scheme and attack the control observatory at Titus. There Skeletor organized◊ an ambush◊ of He-Man and the crew and as crew fights the mutants, He-Man fights◊ Skeletor, as there is only minutes left before Primus will be destroyed. He-Man manages◊ to overpower Skeletor, forcing him to flee◊ and then He-Man puts crystal in its place, saving Primus. Skeletor swears revenge◊, but since the comic was cancelled before it can become more than a 4 issue mini-series, this is the finale of the story.
Heinousness?
Was willing to let the planet die for no real reason than to obtain power or just to be evil (there is no reason explained why Skeletor needs the crystal in the first place). While Mutants were the ones to kidnap the crystal in the first place, their goal was actually to kidnap the missile and they didn't care about the crystal (forgetting about it entirely immediately and only remembering when they heard about it from the captive's communication device◊) and it's unknown what they would do with it. Skeletor on the other hand is actively thwart He-Man's attempt at getting the crystal, despite knowing and hearing that it will destroy the entire planet, being outright gleeful that it will happen. Although the damage to the planet isn't entirely on-screen, we do hear voices begging to be saved◊ and see the apparent changes to the planet in couple of introduction◊ shots◊.
Mitigating Qualities?
None.
Conclusion?
I will say Yes.
