During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

@Clown: Now Im curious.
Wonder how he stacks with some of the More infamous Immortality Immorality villains here like The Beast and uh any other good ones?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
Scales, Abaddon and Herod.
- Lady Battle Cop: Major Phantom is the Professional Killer in charge of leading Team Phantom and spreading terror across Neo Tokyo for The Cartel. Starting the movie by committing a massacre at a club, he invades the National Scientific Laboratory and executes the workers before bombing the entire place, allowing one of his men to molest Kaoru Mikoshiba. Infiltrating a large commercial building with his crew, they plant grenades filled with poison gas in three different locations, resulting in countless civilian casualties. Going after Kaoru in her own home, he leaves his female companion behind even after she inadvertently saved him and uses a civilian as a Human Shield in a last attempt to save his own skin.
- Silent Hill:
- The Silent Hill Experience: Hunger: Dr. Aickmann is a histrionic sexual deviant working at Brookhaven Hospital who fully supports Whately's plans of bringing Samael to the human world. Contracted by Whately to be his human accomplice, Aickmann helps him with kidnapping fertile young women and impregnating them with the seed of Samael, in hopes that they would give birth to the demonic god and his brethren. After a woman had been chosen to be the incubator, Aickmann goes on a homicidal rampage, killing a nurse and a number of other people, keeping their eyes around his operating suite as macabre trophies.
- Sinner's Reward: Michael "Mad Dog" Stanton is the abusive father of Jack "The Pup" Stanton who despite only appearing in flashbacks, proved himself to be the one responsible for Jack's misfortunes. A man whose idea of family tradition is contract killing, Michael was a hitman who wanted his son to follow in his footsteps to satisfy his strong belief in A Real Man Is a Killer. Casually shooting the neighbor's cat in front of Jack, Michael forced him to kill his own dog when he was only eight, beating him for hesitating and telling him that he should just quit being a "little pussy" and shoot "that goddamn mutt". After Jack killed the dog, Michael praised him for shooting him "straight through the fuckin' eye" and then simply ordered him to clean up the mess. Succeeding in turning his son into another murderer, Jack was eventually Driven to Suicide to atone for his crimes and escape from his father's influence over him.
I have beaten Devil May Cry 5. Oh boy. Game of the Year and maybe best game since Nie R Automata there. PM me if you fancy. I'm most interested in Lighty's views since we're working together on this one.
I have also seen Captain Marvel. It's as good as most other MCU films, so I can recommend it easily.
Hope you all been well. Did I miss anything special?
So I finally got to reading BloodRayne comic's after getting an english version of the ones I was looking for. For those who don't know Bloodrayne is a short lived video game series focusing on a damphir assassin dubbed "Rayne". She works for the Brimstone Society in fighting the evil and supernatural, making it a point to kill her evil vampire master father Kagan.
The first game has her fighting an nazi organization called Gegengeist Gruppe, which is basically a Ghostapo group lead by first Big Bad Jurgen Wulf. There's also a short lived series of comics that dwell on Rayne's past and bridge the gap between games with Rayne's adventures for Brimstone.
Enter the oh so subtle villain Bathroy "The Butcheress" Mengele.
Who is she and what does she do ?
Bathory Mengele is a proud descendent of Elizabeth Bathory herself and a infamously vicious member of Gegengeist Gruppe. Appearing as a secondary antagonist, Mengele gets involved when Gegengeist Gruppe seek the parts of Beliar the first devil, and end up awakening a parasitic and demonic creatures called Daemites. Mengele became fascinated with these creatures and decided to use them to empower Gegengeist Gruppe; she takes a particular interest in how they slowly and painfully feed on, infect and kill their hosts, making a bad habit of feeding her men to them to the point were they become recurring enemies in the game. Mengele seems to have more interest in feeding these monsters and watching how they torture and kill their victims than she does actually advancing her organizations goals. When Rayne confronts Mengele, the latter is seen feeding some poor sap (insofar as you can call a nazi a poor sap) while enthusiastically describing what they do to their victims. Just before her boss fight, Mengele states she is considering them setting the Daemites loose on Rayne's country. Fight ends with Rayne knocking Mengele into the pit as the Daemites feed on her, and Rayne sets them all on fire...
Then come the comic we find out Mengele is alive and well decades later and still youthful (and no, she is not a vampire). Not only that but she got involved with the Kagan Cult and plans to usurp them and their plans for vampire world domination. Mengele is also the leader of an army of nazi zombies because of course she is! Rayne tracks Mengele down to her castle after repressed childhood memories awaken within her.
When Rayne confronts Mengele again, we see that she continues her supposed family tradition in bathing in the blood of virgins. In fact it turns out when Rayne was a kid, she was abducted with dozens of other teenage and young girls, kept in cages to butcher and collect their blood. When Mengele realized Rayne was a damphir she wanted to test the Daemite parasites on her to see how it will effect her. Rayne managed to escape but her immune system killed the larvae she was infected with, explaining her repressed memories. In the present, Mengele guts Rayne with a bone saw and leaves her to fight the zombies, alongside her evil sister Ferrill (who was also captured). It turns out the place has been rigged with a trap set to blow up the castle which Rayne does while Mengele is taking one of her baths, leaving her castle a burning wreck and raining dead nazis.
Redeeming Qualities or Freudian Excuse ?
None in site. Her defining characteristics is wanton sadism and being proud to be a descendent of Bathory.
Heinous Standard
Besides the fact she has to compete with Kagan, and considering how Crapsack this world is; the Bloodrayne games are a Stealth Sequel to the more obscure Nocturne which also has a sequel/spinoff trilogy consisting of the Blair Witch video games which also throws Hecaitomix into the equation. Kagan is a Serial Rapist and Serial Killer, Abusive Parent par excellence who brings about the vampire and demon apocalypse; Hecaitomix is an omnicidal demon which corrupted a spiritual world into one of demons and has centuries long a sweet tooth for children.
With Mengele, besides her being regarded as one of, if not the worst and most sadistic of the Ghostapo (behind Jurgen Wulf perhaps) with her penchant of senselessly killing innocent people and her own officers in a cruel manner such as Daimite infection - she mentions considering setting them loose on America but a quick mention probably wouldn't be anything special. What does cross the threshold at least for me, is like the famous legends of her ancestor, Mengele baths in the blood of virgin girls, preferring teenagers and young children (Rayne at least was a kid considering this was before the first game were she was 15-17 years old. We see this in flashbacks in the comics and something she continues throughout the decades too.
I'm waiting for the rest of the comic order to see if anyone else counts but Mengele only appear in one issue, so I figured she'd go first.

"It's like...a cliff, and if I do it, I'm just gonna...fall." "I think we're already falling."
Herod.
For the record I was also considering Wulf but he doesn't do anything that spectacular compared to Kagan IMO; and Ephemra is one person I might keep an eye on for the comics since it appears she's the de facto antagonist in the ones I checked out but...she was raised by Kagan. I also considered Nocturne itself but one of the most heinous villains doesn't count and another one appears in literally one scene.
"It's like...a cliff, and if I do it, I'm just gonna...fall." "I think we're already falling."Anyway heres Telleridge.
- Telleridge is the power hungry leader of the masters of the Path. Under the machinations of Willon, Telleridge happily leads the kidnapping, torture and sacrifice of the order bearers in order to gain their powers through their deaths and upon kidnapping Tier, Telleridge has him mentally and physically tortured. Telleridge also uses his daughter Myrceria as a way to gain the trust of his victims and after she sides with Tier, Telleridge heartlessly has her tortured to death out of petty spite.
Bathory
Yep.
Tel is from Raven's Shadow well Lelian is from Raven's Strike. Willon is in both, though we only learn who he truly is in the second book.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."

Herod can possibly live a normal life, but instead he chooses to be an asshole murderer because he enjoys being one.
