During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
I have no issue.
Even though I haven't watched the show, I've cut a Jerkass Woobie entry on him several months ago on the grounds that his CM status disqualified him from that trope.
Almost forgot,
Scar.

IPP Wick Check created.Okay, so here's my write-up for Liege Maximo:
- Alignment
: In this unlicensed continuation of The Transformers written by Simon Furman himself, the Liege Maximo is the final threat that the Autobots and Decepticons had to face. One of the original Transformers created by Primus, the Liege Maximo coveted its divinely power and wished to become a god equal to its creator. After creating the Decepticons, the Liege Maximo left Cybertron and formed the Cybertronian empire; who were responsible for wiping out countless species during their conquests. The worlds they conquered were added to the Hub, which would open a portal that would ascend the Liege Maximo to godhood while destroying the universe in the process. After being discovered by an Autobot scout ship, the Liege Maximo ordered its fleet to destroy the Autobots and Decepticons before they could intervene with its plans. It harvested the sparks of its own followers to open the portal, and killed several more Transformers who stood in its way. Utterly indifferent to lives that suffered at its hands, the Liege Maximo embraced its dark nature on its path to godhood.
Regarding how Joffrey doesn't seems to care about Robert after his death, i want to note that in the books Tywin mentions his wife only once which was after he had been insulted by Tyrion demanding Casterly Rock. In this way:
"Why? You ask that? You, who killed your mother to come into the world? You are an ill-made, spiteful little creature full of envy, lust, and low cunning. Men's laws give you the right to bear my name and display my colors since I cannot prove that you are not mine. And to teach me humility, the gods have condemned me to watch you waddle about wearing that proud lion that was my father's sigil and his father's before him. But neither gods nor men will ever compel me to let you turn Casterly Rock into your whorehouse."
Personally, i don't care what will happen to Show!Joffery. Only character who bothers me is Aerys.
There is much more humanization of Tywin in the show, and in the books and in World of Ice and Fire, i is made explicitly clear Tywin loved Joanna. All that how he was never the same after she died and so forth.
Tywin's love for Joanna is a very, very key part of his character in ways Robert isn't for Joff.

Tywin's love for Joanna is why he hates Tyrion as he blames him for Joanna's death since she died giving birth to Tyrion

My sandbox of EPs and other stuffYes on the first 2; could go either way on the third.
Speaking of, everyone's fine with this
◊, right?
Add him there and move on.
Anyway yep to the first two black mask pics (Third I'm neutral on ) and joker (a classic and iconic scence right there).

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Yes to the first 2 Black Mask and Joker images. Abstain on the third Black Mask one.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadOh, and while we could probably easily find images of Joker from Emperor Joker or Killing Joke, I'm against that. Even though the actions themselves are on Joker's CM entry (which I'm fine with), he doesn't count for the works themselves. He has a Pet the Dog moment with Harley in the former, and the latter speaks for itself.
to everyone I’ve missed except for the serial killer. And yeah, add Joffrey to the never again list.
Oh, as for the Hero Factory potential candidates, I am unsure on the first two, as I didn’t find any truly heinous crime for Nebula, and while Witch Doctor enslaves an innocent animal race and is not only perfectly aware that extracting the quaza would destroy the planet, but is willing to allow it to get what he wants, i’m not sure if he’ll be considered heinous for the trope, if you guys think Witch Doctor’s worth a shot, feel free to let me know. HOWEVER, I have a good feeling that Core Hunter definitely counts, so look forward to an effort post on him.
I think the Witch Doctor is worth an EP. being aware that your crimes can destroy the planet but uncaring about it is still very heinous

My sandbox of EPs and other stuffYeah it's been awhile but I don't remeber Nebula being too bad. He ultimately struck me as more a coward than a true CM.
I wouldn't mind seeing an argument for witch doctor if you wanna make it. Him being aware it'll destroy the planet but not caring would be enough IMO. Though core is a much stronger keeper.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
I would do Core first since he's much easier case to make.

Your choice. You could go order that they appeared into simplify things
Edit :
Also Yeah this is a good idea too. Do the easy one first and the tricky one after it.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."- Ultraman X The Movie: Here Comes! Our Ultraman: Zaigorg ("Devil/Enma/Ruler of Hell Beast") is an ancient demon and the Satan equal of the X Universe. Emerging from Hell in ancient times, Zaigorg would bring bring about Hell on Earth until finally defeated and sealed away. Upon his release in modern times, Zaigorg instantly attacks the nearest group of humans in sight, including the child Yuuto, and slowly approach a helpless woman to crush her to death. When X tries to stop him, Zaigorg beats him down and obliterates the entire area with the finishing blow while sealing Daichi's ability to become X so he can watch the rest of his rampage helpless to stop him. Arriving in the city, Zaigorg would rampage alongside clones of Antlar and Fire Golza, ending with trying to slowly collapse a building underneath the feet of the civilians trapped inside. Getting the drop on Ultraman and Tiga, Zaigorg would attempt to suck the life out of them and use their stolen energy unleash clones of Tsurugi Demaaga on five major cities around the globe with the intent to once more turn into into Hell. Zaigorg is the devil himself, and his only motivation for any of his crimes is his own sadistic pleasure.

And so that has thankfully blown over.
Also sure let's add joff to the never again list and move on.
