During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. " to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Who are you talking about, this George Washington candidate, or Pericles?
Then there's nothing to worry about. I only wrote an extra post because I made it look like I didn't know the real reason for him being a non-keeper. I used to be a pretty bad perpetrator of Poor Communication Kills, especially in high school, so I'm very self-conscious about not giving anyone the wrong idea about anything nowadays, and I like to demonstrate how much I've improved since then.
I'm going to say that yes, the entries should be in folders, simply because even compared to Fullmetal Alchemist, there are a lot of entries on that page, and it might get too long if they're all plainly listed without using that format.

Pericles.
Ok let's vote.
Does A Song of Ice and Fire needs to have its entries under folder?
Fullmetal Alchemist's aren't.
Washington, then.
(Annoyed grunt)I don't see a problem with folders on the ASOIAF page. It has a lot of entries in both folders. FMA only has a lot of entries in one continuity so folders aren't as necessary.
Agreeing with Tommy.
(Annoyed grunt)
I'm fine with keeping the folders. Especially for people who've only read/watched one and don't want to be spoiled for the other.

Speaking off which. Weren't we adding some to Kamen Rider to simply things. I think making a folder for each section would be best. Example : Showa, Film, etc
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Btw... Just wanna say something. Before the likes of Hegel or 110011 brings these examples. I'm just gonna bring these because why not:
From AdventureQuest Worlds:
- Chaos Dragonlord Vath not only enslaved the dwarves, but also his own dragon. He doesn't care how much pain and suffering he's causing the dwarves in the slightest and doesn't even care if they starve to death, as long as they can forge enough Chaos Gemeralds to keep him happy. Worse yet, Vath even threatens to enslave the rest of Lore and will throw the bodies of anyone who tries to foil his plans down to the dwarves as a demonstration of what happens to those who oppose his might.
- Chaos Lord Krellenos chaorrupted his brother Antiphuus and allowed his kin to blame the Horcs for his death. He proceeded to steal an Arashtite ore of the Accord of the Dark Sun from the Ravine Temple to chaorrupt friends and family alike, doing so to his family and to the Horcs as well.He began using the chaorrupted generals of both sides of the Alliance to try to shatter said Alliance and get the Hero blamed for it all. Krellenos proved willing to sacrifice anything — even family — for Chaos power all while starting a huge war.
From Slayers:
- Hellmaster Phibrizzo from the second season and eighth Light Novel, the oldest of the Mazoku, wants to destroy all reality. This is pretty standard for Mazoku, but Phibrizzo shows sheer joy by which he conducts his manipulations and when he tortures and kills his enemies. There are few other villains in Slayers who take such unmitigated delight in causing suffering, especially when Phibrizzo seems to target loved ones to give as much pain as he can to his targets.
Yes, they were approved by the thread and I think it was Lighty who wrote them. But I want to say this: Let me put that on my list for rewrites and effortpost to do in later future. Same with Minos from Sora no Otoshimono I think because I feel there was something forgotten. And yes, to me, these examples are like Scraggle's passion project on rewriting TAO from Wildstorm Universe despite Lighty originally writing the entry to make it look presentable. But even then, I would love to rewrite these examples at a later future especially Adventure Quest ones.
And speaking of Slayers... Lighty, thoughts on Shabranigdo?
As for folders, I agree with Tommy on this matter. And speaking of folders, I think I'm cool if Dn D also getting a folder treatment but it's because it feels rather long. That and I think there are many entries with different works

"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Also, I think I ignore Newton's post. Hmmmm... I don't mind cutting Kvar if that's the case. Don't know the work so can't comment on that.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Uh I'll abstain on Kvar since I havent played it.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Shabranigdo was literally created by the Lord of Nightmares to be pure evil. No agency whatsoever.
And surprise, surprise. Netflix axed The Punisher and Jessica Jones.
Apparently Season 3 of Jessica Jones will still air, but after that, no more Netflix!Marvel shows.
I write stories and shiz. You can read them here.Well I guess its time to take a bow. Its officaly the end of an era.
Oh well at least Daredevil, Luke Cage and Punisher got a good send off so its not the worst way to go.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Meh...season 2 was bad, anyway.
That's a shame. I really liked The Punisher. Jessica Jones was an okay so too.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadOH COME ON! Seriously Netflix?! You’re gonna axe off The Punisher and Jessica Jones as well?! GAH!
Speaking of which, was Punisher season 2 discussed, I don’t think I recall.
No one counted from Season 2.
I write stories and shiz. You can read them here.Nobody counts.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Ok, thought so. Jigsaw did not even cane close to closing. And I think the Schultzs were heinous enough, but don’t count because they genuinely love each other.

Does anyone count from The Punisher?
The show? No, not at all.
From season 2 no, but didn't Rawlins count from season 1?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM Drafts
We don't need a lengthy conversation over a nonkeeper.
