During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

I don't know. There might be one that was overlooked or one from Beast Morphers. We'll just have to wait and see.

That's right he told me about that. I can't wait for that. SPD is my favorite season.
I'll switch yes if it was her plan. Because I heard that guy was more of the one in charge that episode and that it was his plan. Also if the effect it could have is made clear.

I'll be honest, as long as Drakon and Odius come from completely different continuities then comparing the two might be a little iffy. I mean as long as they stick to their own universe or completely different setting then it's fine if one is overshadowed by the other. To me, it's how they stand out to their own setting, like a person who kills five people in a happy community can count while a person who did the same thing in gang turf city wouldn't because of setting.
Also I'll tell you know that some candidates who got down-voted can usually be re-propose and get approved that time. You just need to know how to present a better argument.

Allow me, take my hand and never let go, promise? - GiselleLet's see. Odius supplies Draven's mega arrows with enough power to break dimensional barriers and gigantifies Draven, but that's it.
"Also if the effect it could have is made clear." He supplies robot clones of rangers to take over the universe. He even says that "[his] robot army is [...] big enough to take over every dimension."

Oh it's a different continuity. I got confused. I don't know where, but I read somewhere it was the same. My mistake, I retract that point. I still I want to know if it was her plan and if it's potential effects are made clear in the show.
Okay I'll switch to a weak yes on her then.

I think Odius and Drakkon should be from separate continuities since Drakkon's MMPR universe is an alternate retelling and the original MMPR universe is the Ninja Steel universe. (There are at least three dimensions according to Dimensions in Danger, and RPM and Dino Charge are stated to be the only seasons in their own dimensions.)

I'm sorry. I got my facts wrong. It won't happen again. And again welcome to the thread.
Edit:
Wait for a few more upvotes. It takes five more upvotes then downvotes for a candidate to pass. I get that your exited, but just be patient. If she passes or not will be clear soon.

Diego
Abstain on the PR trio because the EP's aren't detailed enough. I'll PM you one of mine to show what we're looking for.
- The Dead One: Tezcatlipoca is the Aztec God of Human Sacrifice, who moulded Aztec society into a brutal empire that ripped hundreds of people's hearts out at a time. After being forced to sleep for centuries by the fall of his empire, he declared a young Juan Diego de la Muerte his chosen agent to bring him back to power across the Earth. Killing the adult Diego in a car crash, he resurrects him a year later, using him as a tether on Earth to kill the last three members of the bloodline that thwarted him and tormenting him with visions of brutal violence along the way. After killing two of his targets, Tezcatlipoca tries to kill Diego's girlfriend, mind controlling Diego himself to do the deed when he tries to stop him.
Man, poor Tezcatlipoca. If you didn't know, he was equated with Satan by the Spanish, who wished to convert the Aztecs to Christianity, and thus h'es remembered in popular culture as their God of Evil when he was actually a lot more complex than that.
Abstain on all of the three Power Rangers candidate albeit leaning on tentative no especially on Odius' case.
Anyways, belated writeups ahoy!:
- Zyword by Tamayo Akiyama: The Goddesses of Chaos were the creators of the dimension known as Zyword and was worshiped by its inhabitants as the benevolent goddesses of the land. However, it was revealed that they were responsible of all the mishaps that happened in the manga such as the instability of Zyword dimension. When the heroine, Lunatia Araimel, was 5 years old, the Goddesses quarantined several people because of their hatred of people with tainted blood. When Lunatia develops the hatred with the Goddesses, they gave her their "blessings" which would resulted on Lunatia getting sacrificed. In the present day, it was revealed that the Goddesses betray the inhabitants of Zyword an then inflicts the curse of the people of Araimel which causes them to die in an eternal sleep. One of the three Goddesses, Arienna, was revealed to be the person who turned the soldiers of Valstoke into monstrous beings and another goddess named Shervia manipulated an innocent person to murders two of her younger siblings in order to kidnap the cured Valstoke Soldier, Rain, and then inflicts Lunatia's childhood friend, Roddy, with a manipulative spell and it was also revealed that when Lunatia was young, Shervia beheads the Queen of the Fairy World which resulted on the world facing its imminent destruction.
- Cardinal Syn: Syn is the mysterious woman who is behind the idea of the bloody tournament between each clan of the Bloodlands and the winner of said tournament will become the ruler of Bloodlands. However, when one of the winner of the tournament tries to claim the prize, it was revealed that Syn betrays him by murdering him and won't let the other contestants win the tournament. In the other stories, it was revealed that Syn kept two people as a prisoner and then brutally mutilates them and stitches their bodies together which resulted on them becoming a fighter that worships her and then massacres several knights in one of the fighter's backstory. In her story when she wins the fight, she then uses her powers which resulted on Bloodlands getting destroyed and dragons flying away from the area.
- F-Zero: Deathborn is the recent of the Underworld F-Zero Grand Prix who wanted due to being responsible of the Great Incident which was revealed that he banishes the people who were involved in said incident on the voids of space. Introduced by strangling Black Shadow and threatens to eliminate him if he doesn't win the race, Deathborn then returns to executes Black Shadow with an agony beam when the latter loses the race. It was revealed that he intends to retrieve the Grand Prix belt in order to wipe all of the life in the galaxy and determine the fate of all life as he sees fit.
Aaaaand send this to the drafts. Thoughts?

"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."

Switching to Abstain(Was doing the case by case thing). But tentative yes to Odius, not sure if comparing to Drakon is quite fair as, if my memory serves right He came from an Alternate Continuity.
Things are really about to get Fun around here
