Subpages cleanup: Complete Monster

Go To

During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.

Specific issues include:

  • Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
  • A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
  • Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
  • Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
  • Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.

It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:

Complete Monster Cleanup Thread

Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.

IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.

When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "[tup] to everyone I missed").

No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.

We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.

What is the Work

Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.

Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?

This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.

Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?

Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.

Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?

Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard

Final Verdict?

Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

I've read Bokura no Hikari Club, the Prequel and Interquel to Litchi Hikari Club. Zera keeps, he show his Freudian Excuse...which is utterly hollow. Zera' excuse in a nutshell.

Nothing new in crimes. Some details as revealed. Like that he killed the student by exposing his eyes to strong light, burning his eyelids.

The Dragon however...I might do a EP for him. His yandere obsession is made worse for the interquel.

Who is Jaibo?

Real name: Ameya.

Jaibo was a guy obsessively attracted to Tsunegawa, later know as Zena. Jaibo was infamous for having apparently having drugged a student and a disturbing tendency to constantly vivisect animals, as show with a frog and a cat who got close to Tsunegawa.

Jaibo basically become Tsunegawa' right hand and boyfriend/sextoy. He basically was the last codifier on Zena corruption of the club. Being the one that create the name Zena in first place (...from Gelatine Paper. Zena' name would be Gela- if it was fully translated. LOL).

When Zena demmanded the eye of a member and Niko offered himself (he saying that he was forced was a case of Unreliable Narrator. Just Neo Fascist teen things). Jaibo actively "mistook" the eye where he was going to put the anesthesia, so Niko would be forced to undergo the operation of extraction in pain because Zena didn't gave a fuck. Just For the Evulz.

The events of the first chapters of the original series happen. Jaibo kills his history teacher and more fucked up stuff.

Jaibo then starts to realize that he is getting old and is losing his pretty boy looks. Realizing that he is going to lose Zena.

Jaibo then decides to betray the club and kill Zena. He burns the Lichi field to blame Tamiya, but Niko comes.and bring him. However, Zena plans on executing both.

At the finale. Jaibo appears to betray Zena, kill Tamiya and confess his "love" before trying to kill. Only to get killed for rageful Lichi.

Heinous Standard?

As Zera' The Dragon. He's right with him in many crimes. He's the most violent member of the club.

Both have enough crimes of their own to count.

Mitigating Traits?

Now this is the thing. He loved Zena. Issue is, Jaibo is perfectly fine with killing him after realizing that he's gonna leave him.

This is a Voldemort/Bellatrix situation. With a Psycho Supporter who really likes the Glorious Leader.

Verdict?

I leave this to the people here.

[tup] Obsession rather than actual love, Jaibo is a keeper to me.

Also about the Blazblue's spin-offs, I don't think those are problematic. As far as I can tell, most of the bad guys are absent in those stories with the exception being Terumi and I think heinousness won't be a problem considering they take place in different time periods, might even be different timelines.

Also, given that I'm mentioning the crimes of the prequel too, how it would look?

Like this or how? Because I'm inclusing their characterization in both mangas.

  • Litchi Hikari Club and Our Hikari Club prequel: While all members of the Hikaru Club are youthful monsters, its Glorious Leader and his right hand are the worst.
    • Zena, real name Tsunegawa, is the charismatic leader of the Hikaru Club. Cold even as a children, Tsunegawa was abandoned for his father, leading him to believe that love was worthless. Taking control of the Hikaru Club by using his strong personality, Tsunegawa slowly corrupts it into his Cult of Personality. After a street diviner prophesy that he would either die at foutheen or rule the world at thirteen, Tsunegawa starts to dream of conquering the world, explicitly reorganizating the Hikari club using the Nazis as inspiration and starts calling himself Zena after meeting Jaibo. Introduced executing a student spying them by burning his eyes and chaining his history teacher, leaving her to be killed for Jaibo. Zena completes the creation of the android Litchi, powered for the fruit of the same name, and orders it to kidnap attractive female teenagers to use them as objects of worship without any care for them, going so far as allowing them to starve. After the original founder of the club and other member free most of the girls, Zena orders the former leader to execute his friend by threatening his little sister, whom he later rapes with a tube pipe. He kills a traitor by ordering Litchi to break his back and after the litchi fields are burned, Zena orders the execution of the suspects even if one was completely loyal to him. Becoming more paranoiac as his birthday is approaching, Zena plans on drowing his prisioner to—in his mind—save his own life. Betrayed for his followers, Zena laughts at the death of his lover before being killed for Litchi.
    • Jaibo write up

Off to the drafts:

  • Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle: Madison Lee is a former Angel who becomes treacherous and rogue because rather than take orders from Charles "Charlie" Townsend and work with her team, she wanted all the glory for herself. Teaming up with turncoat US Marshal Ray Carter, Madison plots with him to steal the two rings needed to access the HALO list which contains the names of everyone in the Federal Witness Protection Program and arranges to meet with four different crime families to sell it off to the highest bidder. To obtain the ring that Carter doesn't have, Madison murders the agent who possesses it along with several other ones too. She has volatile mob boss Seamus O'Grady (who has a personal history with Angel Dylan Sanders) released from prison so his gang can not only work for her, but target and murder another witness and then try to kill a second one, teenager Max Petroni. Once Carter arranges for the gangs to meet and gives Madison the rings back, she shoots him dead when he calls her "partner". While fighting Dylan and fellow Angels Natalie Cook and Alex Munday near the climax, she blows up the roof they're on (killing any of O'Grady's surviving men) and then spitefully tries to escape by throwing a grenade into a crowd of people at a Hollywood premiere.

Going to the drafts:

  • BlazBlue: Alter Memory: Hazama/Yuuki Terumi continues to be a monstrous sadist. He burned down the church taking care of the young Ragna, Jin, and Saya and dismembered Ragna by possessing his younger brother. Using his high position in the NOL, he orders Tsubaki to assassinate her best friend Noel. Maniuplating Tsubaki's jealousy, he goads her in the fight proper despite the Izayoi's hurtful side-effects. After having an entire military branch killed to supply life-force energy to the Monolith, Hazama/Terumi encounters Noel and Makoto and severely tortures the latter in order to top off a Mind Rape of the former. Having threatened the world through his own failed experiment, the Black Beast, and planning to do it again for his selfish designs with the Kusanagi, Hazama/Terumi still proves to be an irredeemable monster despite the Compressed Adaptation.

Here's my writeup for the Kekkaishi's baddies. Excuse the length of some of them but I'll try to figure out the way of trimming them soon enough unless if you found this lengths to be acceptable. I'll sort them out from their first appearance to the last one:

  • ''Kekkaishi: Yoshimori, Tokine, their families and their companions are fighting against the demons known as the Ayakashi or evil organizations that want to overtake a holyland known as the Karasumori. However, some of the people that they had encountered sticks as the most monstrous of them all:
    • Kaguro(u) is the most sadistic and depraved member of the Kokuburou. Prior joining Kokuburou, he is known as Genichiro Kuroda who massacres several swordsmen in order to become stronger. After joining the Kokuburou, Kagurou and his men attempts to negotiate with the powerful exorcists who protect Karasumori known as Kekkaishis by intimidating the children and injure some of the school staff in order to make them surrender territory to Kokuburou. When the Kekkaishis refuses to surrender, Kagurou brutally one shots one of the Kekkaishi, Gen Shishio, and then kills some of his subordinates who took one of the Kekkaishi as a hostage during the fight against the Kekkaishi because their "lack of aesthetic" and falsifying their death reports after the battle is done. During the second fight, he then taunts and brutally kills Gen Shishio by impaling him after Gen rejects his offers and after returning to Kokuburou's lair, he then massacres the Kokuburou's scientist, Aihi's, minions and then proceeds to taunt her about her relationship with humans before he impales Aihi and leaving her to die. In the end, Kagurou is an irredeemable beast of a man who loves to torture and kill their enemies in order to gain more power.
    • Mudou is the former member of the Urukai who initially appears as a benevolent mentor of one of the Urukai members, Masamori Sumimura. However, he reveals himself to be something worse after leaving his position in the Urukai. Seeking an ultimate power in order to achieve perfection, he slaughters some of the young recruits in the Urukai by stealing their souls with his balls and then proceeds to do the same in the present in one of the God's Realm. After he went into said realm, he then proceeds to massacres the God's servant and then tries to found the master of the land, Tan'yuu, while destroying everything in his path. After Tan'yuu is captured by Mudou, Mudou then began to mentally torture him under the pretense of judging him for his sins while revealed himself that he wants to consume Tan'yuu's soul and admitting himself that he had been killing countless of humans towards Masamori's younger brother, Yoshimori. Seemingly entertained when Masamori and Yoshimori argued with each other, Mudou then gives Masamori a sadistic choice regarding if Yoshimori or him will live. Due to Mudou's horrible actions, Tan'yuu forces himself to reset his world in order to restore the damages that Mudou has done to his world.
    • Ichirou Ougi is one of the twelve higher ups from the Urukai who also comes from a prestigious family who controls wind techniques. Prior to the main story, he and his younger brothers were envious of their youngest brother's inheritance which resulted on Ichirou devises a body combining spell towards his younger brothers in order to get a higher position. After one of the Urukai members, Masamori Sumimura, got promoted, Ichirou then devises a scheme behind the scenes such as conspiring with the Kokuburou by giving them some information and then sending some box towards other children in the Urukai training facility which resulted on them getting captured in said box and were replaced by the Ayakashi that attacks the Night Troop. In addition, he is also responsible for the revival of a huge and destructive Ayakashi known as the Kurokabuto. After being found out by one of the members of the Urukai, Ichirou then tries to decapitate said member and change his strategy to attack the Holyland known as Shinyuuchis across Japan in order to incriminate Masamori and his family by using a picture of his mother. It was revealed that he was abusive towards one of his younger brother, Rokurou, as when Ichirou got wounded in the fight, he then transfers some of his wounds towards Rokurou which causes him physical pain. In the end, Ichirou is a literal monster who is mostly motivated by envy.
    • Tsukihisa Oumi, or better known as Yumeji Hisaomi, is one of the members of the twelve higher ups of the Urukai and is the fake younger brother of Urukai's leader, Sousui. During his meeting with Sousui and his wife, Suigetsu, in the past, he then brainwashed Sousui by turning him into his loyal older brother known as Nichinaga Oumi and turns Suigetsu into his personal log-keeper. After the two brothers found the Urukai together, he then pioneered a brutal brainwashing program and in addition, it was also revealed that he and his brother bodyjacks other people's bodies for centuries in order to survive. After Nichinaga recovers from Yumeji's mind control and rebelling against Yumeji, Yumeji then participates in a war against each other and in order to win the war, Yumeji destroyed several Shinyuuchis across Japan and orders his subordinates to take the entire town as a hostage. When Masamori becomes suspicious towards Yumeji, the latter then tries to brainwash Masamori and after he was killed by one of Nichinaga's subordinates, he then bodyjacks said subordinate and imprisons Nichinaga's loved ones while impaling Nichinaga's new body. He then taunts Nichinaga about nothing will change after Masamori reforming the Urukai and then tries to bring Nichinaga's body as a proof of the rebellion and if the Urukai doubted his decision, he will simply uses a bomb or a spirit reservoir in order to decimate them. Despite his polite facade towards other people, Yumeji is a person who tries to satiate his pride and ego to win a petty rivalry against his younger brother

Send this shit to the drafts... Although I don't know how to trim it due to the crimes they had committed in the series so yeah... Also @ACW, while I organize the tree up from the first appearance, it's up to you to decide man

[tup] Terumi and Jaibo.

  • Black Mirror: Men Against Fire: Arquette is an ardent supporter of the MASS system and its goal to exterminate the Roaches by changing their appearance into grotesque mutants so soldiers would not hesitate to pull the trigger, despite acknowledging that they are civilians, including innocent children. A military psychologist who uses his position to direct genocidal attacks against the Roaches, Arquette is xenophobic enough to claim that the eugenics program is completely justified since the Roaches have "shit in their DNA". When Stripe begins to discover the truth behind the MASS system, Arquette imprisons him and gives him the choice to either have his memories erased and continue massacring Roaches or stay locked up and have his MASS system configured to replay the footage of him killing Roaches with their appearances intact in an eternal loop.
  • Ebola Syndrome: Kai is a childish sociopath born with the gift of being an asymptomatic carrier of the Ebola virus. Introduced killing the members of a family after having been found having sex with the wife of his boss, Kai pours gasoline on the daughter and tries to burn her alive. Travelling to South Africa to avoid capture, Kai is employed by a Chinese restaurant and takes the opportunity to rape a dying Zulu woman, smashing her head with a rock when she vomits on him. Contracting the virus and becoming a male Typhoid Mary, Kai murders his new boss, his wife and a witness, dismembering their bodies and turning them into hamburguers to be sold to the clients, spreading the virus all over South Africa before returing to Hong Kong, where Kai begins another viral outbreak. Initially appearing to have reintegrated himself into society by starting a new life with his ex-girlfriend Har and her daughter, Kai takes the girl as his hostage when Har discovers his condition and cuts himself to infect even more people.
