During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

...
I know, I'm watering it down right now.
I rewrote Ghetsis' entry. Pretty much had to remove the entire paragraph though since nearly all of it was garbage, Kinda suprised someone did that as it was super petty.
Edit:
Hearteater. Sorry missed that.

Also got some bad and possibly good news about one of my favourite and nostalgic singers/actresses, that scared me right out of my seat. Demi Lovato's been rushed to a hospital over an overdose, news says she's in stable condition, but I don't wanna jinx it!

Same as above.
I'm giving you people a heads up, a Live-Action Bleach movie is in theaters right now.
I don't think I'm going to see it though.
Also, I created a page for Nightwatch (1994) a few months ago; the Foreign Remake of that film, made in 1997 under the same name, has Inspector Thomas Cray.
"I'll show you the Dark Side." CM actors and killsYes to DD and Hearteater, a welcome back and hope you're feeling well to Polar and a comment on the humorous journey I just got to go through looking at the history of Ghetsis' Love to Hate entry.
DD and welcome back Polar.
I decided to take a look at the Mr. Robot writeups I did last year and honestly they are terrible, as they barely focus on what is so heinous that they do (the Whiterose writeup is too short and the Irving one way too long)
- Whiterose, real name Zhi Zhang, is the leader of the Dark Army and a well-known internet urban legend/myth, many believing that she doesn't even exist. Before the series even begins, Whiterose is behind alot of murders, but one is the former CEO of E Corp, Phillip Moore, crashing his airplane and making it look like an accident. Although mostly coming across as nothing more than the archenemy of E Corp, Whiterose slowly becomes more sinister as she has some of her henchmen shoot a bunch of FBI Agents investigating, before ordering them to commit suicide. Later in season 2, Zhang threatens to kill the new CEO of E Corp, Phillip Price, and gloats about killing Moore as well, just to show that he should be careful with what he's doing, often threatening to kill Price's favorite employee Angela. Throughout the series, Whiterose seems to plan something called Stage 2, which is unknown what it is and if it's going to be done, until it's finally revealed in season 3; a bunch of E Corp buildings are blown up by her and three other associates, killing thousands and thousands of innocent people, just to teach Price "a lesson". In the final season 3 episode "shutdown -r", Whiterose has Irving kidnap Elliot and his sister Darlene, and at the end, she orders her henchmen to kill them, only to order her second hitman León to kill all of them and spare Elliot and Darlene, just because they might be valuable, before forcing her lover Grant to commit suicide, because she thinks he isn't worthy of seeing the final results of the organization's work. Although Whiterose is still an enigmatic figure and has yet to face a punishment, so far Whiterose has proven herself as nothing but overly prideful and sadistic, becoming the true Big Bad of the series shows this, as there is no other villain who comes close to her amount of mass murder and how careless she is about doing such things.
- Irving is the psychotic yet falsely affable hitman for Whiterose (along with León), but while León genuinely cares for Elliot, Irving has no redeeming qualities. At first glance appearing as a slightly goofy, Adorkable man, Irving eventually becomes a Psycho for Hire, fully participating and financing the events of Stage 2, and while other participators ([[spoilerTyrell Wellick]], Grant, and Mr. Robot himself) showed some sort of remorse for the murders or may not even have known about the final effects of the project, Irving was fully aware and still carried it out. At the final episode of season 3, "shutdown -r", Irving brutally axes the Dark Army mole Santiago, and then gets the FBI Agent Dominique Di Pierro to replace him, psychologically tormenting her by threatening to kill her family.
Better? Worse? Could use some work? Thoughts?
