During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."@Scraggle
Yeah, if I recall, when I effort posted the traitor from The Prism, you said you'd give a yes but believe that the candidates should be looked over again. I agreed, but it kinda went nowhere after that.
@43110
Was just double checking since it's a fanwork but still a tabletop game.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Here's the final Jeeg related candidate, though it isn't a part of the Jeeg franchise, as I chose this because it was related.
What Is the Work?
They Call Me Jeeg is a 2015 Italian movie that’s like a cross between Hancock, Unbreakable, and Don Quixote.
Enzo Ceccotti is a lonely, misanthropic crook who, while running away from the police, accidentally falls into some radioactive waste hidden in the Tiber waters. He comes out with superhuman strength and the ability to shrug off all wounds, and can even survive falling from deadly heights. After the death of a gangster friend of his, he is tasked with taking care of his friend’s daughter Alessia, a girl with an apparent psychological disorder who escapes reality by continuously watching the original Steel Jeeg anime and relating everything to it. She thinks that Enzo is Hiroshi Shiba, and craziness ensues, especially when Enzo runs into a formidable foe.
Who Is he?
Fabio Cannizzaro, aka "The Gypsy", is the main villain of the film, and a psychotic gangster who’ll do anything for fame and attention.
What has he done?
Previously a contestant on Big Brother, Fabio became a gangster boss who deal drugs in order to make money. Unfortunately for him, he can’t compete with Nunzia Lo Cosimo, a Camorra head whose posse are famous around town for causing explosives and dealing drugs, thus getting all the media attention. His first scene has him beating one of his men to death with a white iPhone he didn’t want, then using hand sanitizer to clean his bloody hands before requesting a black iPhone. Buying cocaine from Cosimo and promising her some more in return, Fabio has Sergio trade it to some drug mule brothers, with the latter bringing along Enzo. Everything goes wrong, resulting in the brothers and Sergio dying, but Enzo surviving thanks to his inability to die from falling.
With Cosimo wondering where her cocaine is, Fabio must either get the cocaine back or pay Nunzia off; of course Fabio decides the latter option, but has only a set amount of time to do so. Meanwhile, Enzo starts making both the news and Youtube when a video is uploaded to the Internet showcasing him wearing a mask while stealing an ATM using his newfound strength. Fabio starts showing signs of jealousy in this masked man. Wondering where Sergio has gone to (the morgue, but they don’t know that yet), Fabio decides to raid his apartment, only to find his daughter Alessia. When a masked Enzo arrives to save her, Fabio has his men kill her, and when that fails, he holds her at knifepoint. Alessia breaks his grasp on her, and he ends up slicing one of Enzo’s toes off before making a getaway.
Later, Fabio tries to rob an armored truck, but is too late when Enzo ends up attacking it. It’s at this point when Fabio’s gang begin to question his leadership skills, with his best soldier requesting not only to leave and start his own gang, but to take money from a local loan-shark in order to pay the debt, and heads out the door. Because he aspires to be a famous and powerful crime boss and feels insulted by both his soldier's insolence and the thought of resorting to taking money from a loan-shark, Fabio responds by having the soldier mauled to death by his Rottweilers, gazing upon the carnage with a look of indifference. However, Fabio himself nonetheless eventually borrows money from the loan-shark, a Brazilian transvestite named Marcellone, whom he also loves having sex with. While meeting with Marcellone, Fabio is attacked by Cosimo and her gang as they tape his wrists together, put soap in his mouth, pour gasoline on him, and put a lighter over him… only to reveal that they were just kidding, and that it’s just a warning that his deadline’s coming closer. Pissed, Marcellone starts a shootout that results in him and Fabio killing some of Cosimo’s goons, with her the only escaping survivor. Fabio then angrily shoots Marcello for almost getting him killed.
When all but one of his gang members are killed by Cosimo in retaliation, Fabio notices more publicity given towards Enzo after he stops a trolley with his strength, with the public now knowing who he really is. Becoming more unhinged as his empire is collapsing around him, Fabio has his assistant Tazzina kidnap Alessia and Enzo and threaten to kill the captive Alessia unless Enzo reveals how he obtained his powers, hoping to gain the same powers and become noticed. He even talks to Enzo about how he wants to blow up something like Parliament, hoping to outdo Cosimo's gang in infamy. Enzo takes Fabio to the Tiber quay to show him how he got his powers, but the two are interrupted not only by Alessia—who managed to kill Tazzina and escape—but also Cosimo and her gang, telling Fabio that time’s up. Fabio uses Alessia has a Human Shield, causing her to get shot and bleed to death. Fabio himself is shot, burnt, and ends up falling into the Tiber quay.
Movie over, right?
Well, Fabio emerges from the water the next morning half-burnt, but discovers that he now possesses Enzo’s powers. Taking advantage of them, he heads to Cosimo’s hideout, sets up his iPhone to record mode, activates some Italian opera background music, and films himself brutally killing Cosimo’s henchmen, concluding with Fabio cracking Cosimo’s back until she dies via hugging her to death. He then finds the gang’s stash of weapons and explosives. Uploading the film to Youtube, Fabio tells the world that there’s going to be a big surprise coming in an hour or so, setting up the climax, and his ultimate attempt at evil.
Fabio plans to use Cosimo’s explosives to blow up Stadio Olimpico, which is currently filled to its max capacity (around 60,000+ people) during a game of Football. Setting the bomb for 15 minutes, Enzo gets into a fistfight with Fabio, both sharing the same strength. After a lengthy car chase involving Enzo playing keep-away with the bomb, Fabio gets the bomb and sets the time to 15 seconds, willing to kill just about anyone at this point, even if they’re miles away from the stadium. Unable to defuse the bomb, Enzo grabs both it and Fabio and jumps off the bridge they’re on and into the Tiber. The bomb goes off, killing Fabio for good, but Enzo manages to escape and fake his death.
Redeeming Qualities?
Not really. He doesn’t show care for his family members. He mentions his father dying, but it’s not in a “I miss my dead dad” sort of way, instead it’s “I don’t want to die here like my father”, and that’s it. When he sees the corpses of his gang, he’s mainly scared and shocked at the sudden death of his army rather than feeling saddened for their losses; really, he’s just a coward who doesn’t want to fight by himself, usually preferring backup.
He’s very comedic, dancing with Cosimo’s corpse after killing her, but all of that serves as a way to enhance his evilness.
Heinousness?
While Cosimo’s gang are a troupe of anarchists who set up explosions across town, they believe that what they do is a good cause against various politicians and law enforcement, and are wanting to give hope to the people of Italy, wanting to help poor people in trouble. And while he’s constantly under their shadow throughout the first half of the movie, Fabio still has fewer redeeming moments in comparison.
Despite how wimpy and silly Fabio is at first (he wears a wig for crying out loud!), he’s later shown to be very violent and actually poses a threat near the end, even before he acquires his powers. And the fact that he’s willing to kill thousands of people all for the sake of being noticed by not just the public, but the world as well.
Conclusion
I think he’s a keeper, but I'll have you guys decide. Fabio starts the movie off as a low-life, unstable gangster leader and ends the film a super-powered psycho willing to kill thousands for media attention. He kind reminds me of Zorg: a comedic wuss who, while not looking like much, is later shown to be evil to the core, and when push comes to shove, they can be very threatening and serious.
