During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Flag Eggnog and Husner.
Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
To Egghead and Husnetter.
Heavy Object has 5 keepers thus far, and I'm taking up the honor of doing Egghead's entry at some point.
Who's to say this line from him can be on the quotes page? "I'll kill them, those reports who mock me, those nobles who dare laugh behind my back, that Vanderbilt bitch! I'll KILL THEM ALL!!"

I regret to inform you that that line's actually made up; I took it off his TV Tropes character page, not knowing that it was fake. This is the actual quote:
- "I'll kill you! I'll kill every last person who mocks me!! Grab your guns and follow me. First is the Vanderbilt girl with her evidence! Once that's over and my position is stable, I can start a war with the Information Alliance... I'll kill them aaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllll"

General Khan, the Big Bad of an action B-movie I found on Netflix named Black Site Delta. Dude had a rape victim stoned to death, slaughtered his way through a military compound, shot one of his men for looking at him funny, and ultimately sends a nuke to obliterate New York. His motive? Avenging the deaths of his family at the hands of American bombers. I was pissed.
Saionji, Brotonia, Husnet and Flag.
@acw: I was going through Stephen King and noticed that Tak from the Novel Desperation isn't there despite being approved months ago and is on the Ymmv page. Did something happen or is this an error.
EDIT : I also took the Liberty of adding tweaked Paplaptine to the drafts. For you to take away.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."So uh speaking of The Dirty Dozen since Scraggle got a villain approved from a somewhat sequel. I found this commented out on the ymmv page.
Complete Monster: Maggot is a racist sexist murderer who uses his interpenetration of scripture to justify his motives and almost got the whole team killed, just to sadistically murder one of officers' mistresses and tried to kill his own team mate. Though oddly enough, he is one of the few example that was used with some comic relief (At least at earlier.) and for awhile seemed to be built up as just another one of the team members at first.
Haven't watched it yet. So tgoughts ?

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I was actually thinking about making an EP for Queen Brotonia a while ago but decided against it because my first My Little Pony candidate was downvoted and it seemed like people were a bit tired of talking about characters from that show.
I can confirm Recall the Time of No Return is a well-written, well-drawn story and not one of these grimdark fanfics that relies on violence and shock value to draw in an audience. Therefore
for Queen Brotonia.

When acw will get it locked. He'll also have the link put on the video game page.
Uh somone added this to the complete monster quotes page.
I'm pretty sure there aren't any daleks listed at all considering there Always Chaotic Evil defined and there was literally an episode dedicated to the fact that they have systems that make sure they can't be good.

Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
Here's our Egghead:
Prince Flag Eggnog of the Legitimacy Kingdom's Warta District is a loud-mouthed miscreant widely despised by his people, due to his rampant gaffes, which usually prompts him to start a war to cover it up. When the Colorful Vanilla Drug is reported to have resulted in a war, he claims the drug wars are fake and are just fabricated by conspiracy theorists to blame the government, which only served to call for his resignation. In the past he exploited a century long conflict between the Winchell and Vanderbilt families for his own gain by engineering 21 recent civil wars to cover the same sort of gaffes he made. In the present, he arranged Azureyfear Winchell to massacre Lady Vanderbilt and 100,000+ people aboard the LK Ship Rose & Lily, which he also happens to be on. He also collaborated with the Information Alliance's Martini Sisters to gain and exploit the information on the two families to manipulate an even bigger conflict to cover another gaffe. Finally when things start going downhill for him, Flag drew a gun and attempted to put Lady Vanderbilt, his Information Alliance Contact, the military, the press, and everyone who dared mock him to the slaughter. Although he claimed his uncontrollable gaffes and war cover ups were beneficial to his country, he's nothing more than an incompetent, cowardly, and deluded traitor with an elitist viewpoint, who will bribe or kill anyone when things don't go his way.
