During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

For those unconvinced on Ross, I just want to say I'm of the belief that if you team up with another heinous villain, especially in assisting in their more heinous acts, I'd say you'd share in the heinousness and that's what I see in the Red Hulk and the Red Skull in this situation.

"It's like...a cliff, and if I do it, I'm just gonna...fall." "I think we're already falling."
I guess it would be on the same situation with Soth and Sadono from Splinter Cell. I wonder who are the other C Ms that team up with other villains that has a pretty heinous plans. Ali Al Saachez could count I guess?
Yes but in particular, the Red Hulk aides in one of the Red Skulls worst crimes in the series (the chemical attack) and unlike the other of Red Skulls supervillain mooks in that situation, there's solid evidence that Ross isn't brainwashed in that situation.
"It's like...a cliff, and if I do it, I'm just gonna...fall." "I think we're already falling."Alright lets see catching up:
Abstain on Ross, Yes to Harada and Hell no to the Arthurian Ones.
Though it makes me wonder if we do have any adaptions of Arthurian villains listed.
@acw: I think you misunderstood what I meant. Zanza will be totally spoiled on the ymmv page but kept uncovered on the Main Xeno page

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Honestly, I say we cut out spoilers entirely from the Xeno page. No need for any of them considering the twists of the game have fallen firmly into It Was His Sled territory by now anyways.

Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
Effort-post time. As I promised, I said id look into whther D counted and I think so. So here it is
What is the work ?
Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (roughly Beast Power Squadron Dinosaur Ranger) is the 37th program in the Super Sentai franchise, airing from 2013 to 2014. It is the third dinosaur-themed installment in the franchise, following Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (1992) and Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger (2003).
A long time ago, in the age of the dinosaurs, the Earth came under attack by an alien force known as the Deboss Army. However, they were defeated by a team of dinosaurs given supernatural powers, and sealed within the polar ice caps. Torin, the divine mentor of the heroes, stored the souls of these brave dinosaur warriors in capsules so that their power could be called upon if the threat of the Deboss ever returned. Now in the modern age, a new team of humans are scouted by Torin to fight against the revived Deboss Army. Defeating their partner dinosaurs in single combat to earn their trust and respect, these chosen are granted their awesome prehistoric power and the ability to become the new generation of heroes, the Kyoryuger!
Who is the villain and what has he done /
D or Deathryuger played by Mamoru Miyano (i.e. Light yagami and Ultraman Zero himself) is the Big Bad of the movie Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Gaburincho of Music was one of the first deboss knights created a 100 million years ago and wreaked havoc on ancient earth. Attempting to control tobospino (the spinosaurus mech spirit), he drove it insane in an attempt to destroy the other dinosaurs. However a member of ancient superhuman race using a song was able to calm down Tobaspino and defeated D with both trapped in a deep sleep.
In the movie proper Chaos (The Dragon to Deboss) revives D and gives him fake Kyoryuger powers transforming him into Deathryuger. Now seeking revenge, he plots to eradicate all life on earth. He has two of his generals crash a concert where a friend of Daigo (the red ranger) called Meeko is performing. Kidnapping Meeko, a descendant of the priestess who sealed away and later ditching the other members of the Deboss army, he plans on using her voice to revive Tobaspino and then use her as a living battery, draining her life force and using that to create an eradication attack that will wipe out all life on the planet. Later ditching the rest of the Deboss army as this is his plan on his own.
The kyoryugurs battle D with Daigo entering his Mech, and in the ensuing fight, D is mortally wounded and sent out of it and plunges to his death and helps revivie Meeko who helps with the rest of the Kyorygers to shut down his eradiction attack (which is basically a Colony Drop of energy).
Later returning in Brave 39: Full Array! The Ten Great Kyoryu Powers. He was one of various monsters and generals that were killed in tis season and sent to hell (more specifically Deboss hell) . Escaping from hell, he gathers and absorbs a ton of restoration water(used to reveive fallen monsters0 and while it makes him powerful in order to need to use the Deathrygyer powers it has the side effect of making him unstable to the point that he nees to constantly drink it or start to die.
Brainwashing Meeko, he plans on using her as his personal necromancer, reving all the fellen monsters from this season whoose remains have sunk into the ground) and using them to conquer the planet .
Long story short, hes defated and Meeko gets freed from his mind control but uses some of his last powers to grow giant in an attempt to explode and take out the entire planet with logic of hes going out, hes taking of everyone with him. Luckily there able to deafeat him before he’s able to complete the process and save the day.
Freudian excuse ?
Nope. Was already evil when he got sealed away and just cares about revenge.
Other mitigating or redeeming factors?
Nope on the redeeming front. Hes a selfish prick and even ditches the rest of the deboss army showing no loyalty to them. Hes also one of the only villains in this season to be played 100% seriously unlike the others who tend to be played for laughs due to the Lighter and Softer nature of this season.
Agency : Yeah he has it. While its true that members of the deboss army are created from the cells of deboss himself. That does not mean they lack agency as multiple members who were created the same way like torin, Luckyuro and Candelilla have Heel–Face Turn ‘s while other members who don’t turn good have redeeming qualities.
Heisnosuness standerd ?
Id say pass here as for a Monster of the Week / Movie villain with screentime of like an hour in total, the fact he attempts to wipe out all life on earth not once but twice is actually quite impressive as he’s punching way above his weight for his tier as the other motws tend to just have a few attempted victims compared to him with a much higher attempted count. The fact that hes working on his own and isn't taking orders from anyone unlike the others also helps.
Not as bad as Deboss himself but hes the Big Bad with tons of screentime and lots more power putting him on a much larger tier.
So D does the best with whats he got being worse than every recurring villain in this season except Deboss himself and all on his own.
Conclusion ?
