During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Dragon, Nero, Traitor.
- Toriko: Joie, leader of the organization NEO and The Dragon to the seeming Big Bad is known as The Dark Chef for good reason. A Food Spirit summoned into the body of the deceased Goddess of Chefs Froese, Joie brainwashes multiple high-ranking figures in the world to force them to join NEO, and has multiple individuals who can stand in his way killed, while also having a monster known as the Four Beast released from its sealing and sending it to the Human World where it could potentially devour millions, if not billions, of innocent people. Joie participates in the "cooking" of Earth and helps deliver countless people to the monstrous Appetite Demon NEO, and when facing off against Froese's adopted son Midots, Joie takes advantage of having Froese's body to mentally torture Midora while trying to kill him and the rest of the good guys.
- Cyric is the Prince of Lies. In the aftermath of the Time of Troubles, when the three prime gods of evil died, Cyric was raised to godhood for his evil in order to replace them. Cyric proceeded to prove his cruelty by murdering and oppressing other gods, sending his servants to steal faithful worshipers from the afterlife to torture in his realm, and instituting cruel punishments on the dead. Cyric invented new ways to drive beings mad, even succumbing to them himself for a time. Even after regaining his sanity, Cyric gleefully murdered his enemy Mystra, the Goddess of Magic, inflicting the hideous Spellplague that scarred the face of Faerun forever and claimed many lives.
- Lolth, the Demon Queen of Spiders, is the goddess of the Drow, of spiders and of chaos. Once a member of the Elven pantheon, the Seldarine, and named Araunshee, Lolth betrayed the Seldarine out of growing malice, discontent, and lust for power. She betrayed her husband, the chief elven God Corellon Larethian, to his enemy, the Orc God Gruumsh, and tried to help the destruction of the Seldarine. When she failed, Lolth fled to the Demonweb Pits and led her chosen race, the Drow, into the Underdark, becoming a twisted and cruel goddess. Lolth would soon trick her own grandson into absorbing the essence of a demon lord to corrupt him into serving Lolth as her champion forever. Lolth had the Drow establish a society built on sadism and backstabbing, solely for her own pleasure, with cruel edicts consisting of demands for the sacrifice of every newborn male child at birth and demands for her priestesses to carve out the hearts of males they grow too fond of. What sets Lolth apart from other evil gods is that she cares nothing for her race or her worshipers, viewing them as merely tools for power. For her own amusement, she will capriciously withhold her favor from loyal Drow just for the pleasure of seeing them die. Lolth has nothing less than genocidal fury towards all surface elves and routinely directs her followers to murder them. After becoming more powerful, Lolth proceeded to purge the Drow pantheon of other deities, ending her victory by seemingly murdering her own children, Eilistraee and Vhaeraun, with savage glee.
- Brighton Rock: Pinkie Brown in the 2010 Film of the Book is a cruel, 17-year-old sociopath who is seen committing murder by a young woman. With her unaware of his identity, and so she will not testify against him, Pinkie seduces and marries her, killing again to cover his tracks. When he realizes a journalist is on his trail, Pinkie decides his wife is a liability and tries to force her into a Suicide Pact where she will die and he skips out on his end. When said journalist and a member of Pinkie's gang attempt to save her, Pinkie simply tries to murder all of them.
- La Colonia: Paul Schäfer, the leader of a German cult that immigrated to Chile, kills anybody who tries to escape their compound via Booby Trap. The Greater-Scope Villain, Augusto Pinochet. contracts Schäfer to use the compound as an extrajudicial prison. Schäfer agrees, and institutes a system of psychological torture and human experimentation on any prisoners he gets a hold of. His cult fares no better, as he works them all day in the hot sun without any water. Meanwhile, he molests their young boys while simultaneously claiming that Sex Is Evil and the genders should be kept separate at all times.
- The Hitman (1991): Ronny "Del" Delaney is the corrupt partner of the hero Cliff Garret who guns Garret down on a drug bust to cover his own dirty dealings, and then guns down the surviving criminals to keep his cover. When Garret, believed dead, infiltrates the mob as a supposed hitman, Del plays two mob outfits against each other before slaughtering any survivors to gain control himself. When he discovers Garret is alive, Del takes a little boy that Garret had befriended and ties him up with an explosive under his chair before attempting to detonate it to kill the boy and Garret together.
- Mortal Kombat: Shang Tsung is an Evil Sorcerer who drains the souls of his victims and seeks to destroy Earthrealm for Shao Kahn, Emperor of Outworld. Starting the film by killing hero Liu Kang's younger brother and draining his soul, Shang Tsung manipulates the heroes into joining Mortal Kombat so he can see a victory for his side and finally see humanity destroyed. During his tenure as tournament grandmaster, Shang Tsung frequently drains the souls of defeated fighters, even still-living men from his own side, that he absorbs into himself, the souls suffering perpetual torment. When he realizes he may lose the tournament, Shang Tsung proves himself a dishonorable coward by doing everything he can to avoid fighting Liu Kang and trying to challenge weaker fighters in his place before relying on using Liu Kang's brother's form to break him mentally.
- The Sacred Star of Milos: "Melvin Voyager", actually Security Chief Atlas, is a power-hungry, sociopathic Cretan soldier, who starts off by denouncing his vows to protect the Crichton family by brutally murdering the female protagonist Julia's parents and then rips the skin of Julia's brother's Ashleigh's face in order to steal his identity. This was done so that Atlas could easily manipulate the rebel group, Bats, into making a transmutation circle for him by promising Creta enough power to rival other nations. Ashleigh, in turn, ended up becoming a vengeful Knight Templar, seeking revenge for Milos after losing his faith for its people. After showing his true colors, Atlas murders Bats' leader, Miranda, so that he can use her blood to activate the circle. He then proceeds to murder his co-conspirator, Raul, as well when it turns out there is not enough sacrificial blood. After succeeding in activating the circle, Atlas sacrifices dozens of Amestrian soldiers by feeding them to Milos's machinery to create a Philosopher's Stone for himself. A textbook sociopath who abandoned his honor and home country for power, Atlas stood out as one of the most vile villains in the Brotherhood canon.
- Victor Paul Gitano, from season 7's "Fault", was a sadistic pedophile who lured kids in, regardless of gender, then raped, tortured, and killed them, He had previously molested a 9-year-old-girl, and had also raped and tortured a 12-year-old boy. When trying to hunt Gitano down, things don't quite go as planned. Not only does he kill one of the two kids he had with him in a subway station full of people by slashing the 9-year-old's throat, but he almost killed Benson the same way. Then, when they corner Gitano in a warehouse, he manages to get behind Stabler and hold him at gunpoint with a shotgun. Gitano, despite knowing he'd get caught or killed at this point, outright boasts that he killed the other child he had, who was only 7, and bragged that she was a "slut" and a "real little whore" before killing her, even though he never got the chance to molest her. In addition, as a teenager, Gitano claimed to have sexually assaulted over a dozen children, all strangers.
- Belisarius Series: Venandakatra the Vile is the first cousin of the Emperor of the Malwa and a depraved hedonistic sadist, hated even among the other Malwa. Venandakatra's tactics involve throwing his soldiers at the enemy until the enemy runs out of defenses before he runs out of men, and when he takes a city he subjects it to horrific massacres, with women taken as spoils and civilians massacred in huge numbers, often by his favorite execution method, impalement on short stakes. When he and Belisarius conquer one city, Venandakatra has a rebel leader with his family brought to Belisarius for rape and torture; Belisarius has them killed swiftly to spare them the fate. Venandakatra is also a pedophile who brutalizes little girls he inducts into his harem, requiring frequent replacements when he kills them, disgusting even the Malwa spymaster Nanda Lal. When he is placed in charge of a section of the empire, Venandakatra's excesses eventually drive it into open revolt. When his chief holding is under siege, Venandakatra has a commander who contradicts him blasted out of a cannon and forces his slaves to carry him to his palace, threatening to impale him should even one of them stumble. When they delay in getting him to safety, he orders them impaled on the spot, only to find out his troops have deserted him, leaving him to the mercies of his greatest enemy.
- Alien Nation:
- Koulak, a sadistic Overseer guard from the episode "The Game", is infamous for having created a special "game." Since salt is corrosive to the skin of his species, Koulak designs a device that randomly fires out steam, water or salt water, forcing "players" to press buttons that blast them, with none knowing what will hit them until it's too late. Reveling in his authority, Koulak frequently taunted the series's hero, George, then known as Stangya, with the knowledge his turn would come to join the game, even selecting George's brother to play, resulting in his death. Upon the arrival on earth, Koulak becomes a crime boss who continues his game in illegal underground betting rings, forcing those who owe him money to play, or just abducting others off the streets. In a series focusing on tolerance and equality, Koulak stands apart as the darkest the Overlords had to offer.
- Body and Soul: In this Made-for-TV Movie, Chorboke, The Keeper Of Hell or The Dark One, was a Mad Scientist who is sadistic, even by the standards of the Overseers. Seeking to create the "perfect slave", Chorboke killed thousands on his operating tables. After the Day of Descent, Chorboke was thought dead, but participated in a secret government program and escaped after murdering the head of the program and using plastic surgery to steal his identity. Continuing his surgeries, Chorboke murders any connection to him and attempts to test Tectonese weapons to sell them to the highest bidder, not caring that these could be magnitudes deadlier than the atomic bomb. When he and George end up in mortal combat, Chorboke sneers that his one regret is he was never able to subject George to his table like so many other innocent victims.
- Lexx: His Divine Shadow is the one survivor of the Insect Civilization possessing human bodies, and starts the series by annihilating the Brunnen-G species and taking over the Light Universe. Running a nightmarish regime where executions and harvesting of people for their meat is commonplace, His Divine Shadow commissions the creation of the Lexx, a planet destroying superweapon with intent to annihilate everything outside of his domain. Upon his seeming death, His Shadow initiates the Cleansing where every living being in his domain is killed and their meat sent to feed his true form, Giga Shadow. Returning to life, His Divine Shadow proclaims he will annihilate humanity and create a new insect empire, obsessed with his own glory and magnificence.
- New Tricks: In their reinvestigations UCOS have faced a variety of criminals, but these stand out:
- Ricky Hanson, the series' only recurring antagonist and the personal Arch-Enemy of Jack Halford, was a mid-level London Gangster described by Jack as "the biggest thieving, murdering, lying piece of shyte I've ever laid eyes upon." Starting out in the 1980s, Hanson took over the "Twenty-Fours" to use them as a front for his drug ring. When Ray Harris tipped him off that two members were really student activists, Hanson personally murdered them, then had their bodies hidden under Harris's conservatory, incriminating him. By 1996, Jack and Sandra Pullman were investigating Hanson for three murders, including his own brother. Realising they were getting too close, Hanson ran over Jack's wife Mary, laughing as he did; it took two years for Mary's wounds to kill her. When his son, Luke, was wrongly accused of arson to save himself, Ricky left Luke to be sentenced to nine years in prison, and also stole Luke's girlfriend Lysette Perry. In the season 3 finale "Congratulations", Ricky confessed to Jack he killed Mary, tormenting him with the details of the event. Losing it, Jack attempted to kill Ricky; failing in the season 4 premier "Casualty", Ricky tried to slowly run him over but was forced to flee. Sneaking into Jack's hospital, Hanson assaulted the nurse then almost smothered Jack. Interrupted by Brian Lane, Hanson tried to strangle him. In season 6's "The Last Laugh", when the reinvestigation into the student's disappearance led back to him, Hanson set his goons on Gerry's informant Polish George. When their uncharacteristic mercy tipped Gerry that Polish had dirt on Hanson, Polish let slip that Lysette is Hanson's daughter. Learning that his father never told him he was with his half-sister broke Hanson's hold over Luke, leading to him finally being put away. Arrogant, coarse and brutish, Hanson was nothing more than a cruel thug, if an intelligent one.
- Alex Close, from season 7's "Dark Chocolate", was an immoral small-time businessman, whose companies operated through the exploitation and overwork of illegal immigrants. Close proved to be an even more vile man, as he was also a Serial Rapist who used his business's contracts to find victims. In 1992, he raped Jean Saunders at the chocolate factory where she worked, and then a few months later raped Eileen Harrison, permanently traumatising her. Close got around the mass DNA screening by forcing someone else to go in his place. When in 2001 his abuse of illegal immigrants was exposed, Close fled the country to Poland. Returning nine years later, he started a new business, this time using Polish immigrants, and immediately resumed his spree by attempting to get a bakery contract so he could rape his next target. When he failed, the undeterred Close resorted to regularly going as a customer, until he knew the layout well enough to rape Helen Vestry.
- George Mackie, from season 7's "Where There's Smoke", was a talented fire investigator respected for his dedication and knowledge. However, he was secretly also a serial arsonist, later claiming to having started sixty-four separate fires. He would place homemade firebombs in his targets, then after the fire burned out, he would turn up to analyze it and bask in the praise he received for his "insight". In 1996, one of Mackie's bombs caused the Union club to burn to the ground, killing four people, including the club's owner, and causing seven hospitalizations. Shortly afterwards, Mackie retired and thus the fires stopped. UCOS's reinvestigation of the Union fire inadvertently inspired Mackie to come out of retirement. Breaking into David Swallow's house, he set up another bomb; Swallow was himself a survivor of the Union Club fire who had been left with third-degree burns over half his body. Mackie then set another bomb in Stuart Russel's house, this one nearly killing Jack, Brian and Gerry along with Russel. Underneath all his charm and seeming helpfulness, at heart Mackie was nothing more than a shameless Attention Whore, happy to commit wanton destruction and kill innocent people just to stroke his own ego.
- Annabel Skinner, from season 10's "The Little Brother", was a former associate of the notorious Larry Goftmon. To steal Florence Epstein's money, she seduced Florence's husband Jonathan until he was so under her spell he agreed to murder Florence and steal her money. They tortured her bank details out of her, before bludgeoning Florence to death with a hammer. No longer needing him, Annabel turned Jonathan over to the police. However, Goftmon double-crossed her and ran off with the money. Desiring vengeance, not just against Goftmon but also the accountant Peter Sale—despite him being unaware of their plan and being cheated himself—she violently murdered Sale's sister Margaret Kirby and stole her identity. After six years of searching she found Goftmon, but couldn't find Sale. Devising a plan, she set up a trail directing towards him and got acquainted with Esther Lane. Playing the role of a caring sister who wanted to tell her brother he was an uncle, she thus sent Brian on the trail to find Sale. Skinner then tipped the police about Gofton's new alias, before strangling him and leaving the body for Brian to find. Finally finding Sale, Skinner disabled the police officer who was guarding him and tried to murder him. When Brian interrupted her, she tried to strangle him too. A manipulative violent sociopath, Skinner even described herself as "fundamentally nasty".
- Fury (MAX): Colonel Rudi Gagarin is a former Russian Special Forces officer and trainer who has known, and fought with, Nick Fury for several decades. Desiring nothing but war, which he absolutely loves, Gagarin manipulates General Makawao of Napoleon Island into starting a war with the United States, through such actions as renaming the island "The Peoples Republic of Napoleon Island. Later on, Makawao agrees to go on TV and admit the whole scheme in exchange for Fury and his 3 S.H.I.E.L.D. agents finding his daughters, Gagarin shoots and kills Makawao live on TV before he can admit anything. The US does indeed launch airstrikes against Napoleon Island, resulting in the deaths of nearly 1,000 people, about twice as many injuries, and the devastation of the island. In addition, while Fury himself is a Blood Knight, there is a major difference between him and Gagarin: Fury is A Father to His Men and hates that the 3 agents got killed. Gagarin, on the other hand, when one of the Napoleon Island soldiers fails him, has Fuckface, who had been hideously deformed—including losing an eye—from a shark accident, rape him and snap his neck, threatening that this will be the fate of any others who let him down.
- The Orphanage of Fear that Miyo Takano is sent to following the deaths of her parents is led by the seemingly kind Staff Leader, who reveals himself as a sadistic disciplinarian by pretending to console Takano, only to immediately slap her in the face. Reveling in the brutalization of children, the Staff Leader rules the Orphanage with an iron fist, dishing out punishments to those he deems "disobedient." His crimes range from being extremely petty—such as forcing a boy to eat ink after he accidentally spilled some—to downright cruel. When Takano and three other kids attempted to escape the Orphanage, he sentences them to grotesque punishments with Eriko—the ringleader of the operation as well as Takano's only friend— receiving the worst one. She is sent to the chicken coop wherein she is pecked to death by the ravenous chickens. Takano herself is then made to clean an outhouse with her tongue. Despite being relatively minor in the series, the Staff Leader left a lasting impact on Takano's life, ultimately warping her mind, and making her the psychopathic, Godhood-obsessed mastermind she is now.
- Nomura is, despite her limited screentime, the overarching villain of the series. A representative of the secret organization Tokyo, Nomura sought to topple the Old Koizumi faction. A skilled manipulator, Nomura tricks a despondent Miyo Takano into aiding her with her goals, claiming that she'd back her research in return. Working behind the scenes, Nomura masterminds the Great Hinamizawa Disaster, a catastrophic event in which a special forces unit is deceived into massacring over 2,000 people via improvised gas chambers. She then creates a cover up story, citing that sulfide gas spread throughout the town, killing everyone. Viewing Takano as only a tool, she attempts to dispose of her as to severe any loose ends, and ultimately leaves her to take all of the blame.
- Teppei Ho(u)jo(u), while not on the same scale as other antagonists, more than makes up for it by being as despicable as possible. Teppei is made to care for his niece and nephew—Satoko and Satoshi respectively—after the deaths of their parents. A Child Hater to repulsive levels, Teppei subjects Satoko to a chilling series of abuse designed to humiliate and demean her. From forcing her to strip naked and using her as a table, to psychologically tormenting her, it's all but stated that he would indulge in sexually abusing her if she were older. Teppei commits embezzlement and fraud through badger games; uses his lover as a means of swindling men out of their money; and he takes sadistic delight from the ruination of their lives. Not above threatening people, Teppei murders Rika in one of the alternate worlds when she attempted to intrude. Selfish, cruel, and deplorable beyond belief, Teppei even manages to earn Miyo Takano's seething hatred.
- Harry Skinner is the leader of a Neo-Nazi gang in post-apocalyptic Britain, along with his sister and his grandmother. His group is responsible for capturing stragglers and selling them to neighboring tribes to be fed to werewolves in exchange for good weapons. He becomes obsessed with heroine Rowan Morrigan and thinks she is sending him messages to become his lover, driving him to allow Rowan to kill his sister and later killing a man that Rowan had just saved out of jealousy. He feeds his grandmother to a werewolf as well after beating her senseless, and tosses a baby that he had initially saved into a werewolf pit after suspecting it to be racially impure.
- Sister Sigrid is an Alpha werewolf who leads her own pack in the war against mankind and maintains power by ripping any challengers to her position limb from limb. Harboring a deep hatred for humans and being a lover of Human Sacrifice in particular, she kidnaps Rowan's adopted daughter Keira in order to sacrifice her as part of a great prophecy that she claims was given to her by the great wolf god Luna, and would bring about the total extinction of humanity. Despite claiming to care for her followers, she has no problems using wolf cubs as foot soldiers against the "Grey Witch" and instructs her men to crash their own ship to allow their Alpha to escape.

There doesn't seem to be any contention, so allow me to take care of Nero and touch up Nyarly's entry a bit at the same time...
- Fall of Cthulhu series (Boom! Comics)
- Fall of Cthulhu: Nyarlathotep himself seamlessly arranges every single wrong in the comic for the purpose of unleashing his master Azathoth unto the universe. Having spent centuries walking among mankind among disasters and people he's driven to madness, Nyarlathotep spends hundreds of years arranging for the events of the Godwar between him and Nodens, intending to raise Cthulhu and use the ensuing chaos to draw forth Azathoth. To this end, Nyarlathotep, under the guise of "Mr. Arkham," gradually drives the town of Arkham into increasing insanity, ruining the life of Cy Morgan before having him tortured and leaving his insane form as almost an afterthought. Bringing his followers into the world one-by-one through the deaths of others, Nyarlathotep in particular has a seven-year-old child driven to homicidal insanity before having his form mutated and infested by one of his followers after having both his parents killed. Among his other cruel actions, Nyarlathotep hypnotizes the residents of a bar to burn themselves alive; hideously deforms the face of sheriff Raymond Dirk and threatens to torture master thief Lucifer; and has the brain of his human follower Connor painfully extracted and set up to look in a mirror until he's driven to insanity, unable to move or die. The exemplary point of Nyarlathotep's manipulations is outlined in the prequel comic Nemesis, where, solely to eliminate worship of a rival god, Nyarlathotep drives the population of Atlantis to frenzy through his followers and influence, has their king driven to savagery and eventually publicly executed by his own brother, and then sacrifices the entire city to the Deep Ones on a whim, keeping the sole survivor trapped in the form of a cat he dubs Nemesis to stand by him forever. Nyarlathotep perpetuates torture, suicide, and insanity around him wherever he goes, relishing chaos itself and striving for nothing less than to drive all humanity insane for kicks before eradicating them.
- The Calling: Cthulhu Chronicles: Abisso Nero is a reclusive fashion mogul who is in actuality the leader of a nebulous cult striving to free Cthulhu and end the universe by folding eleven dimensions into one. To this end, Nero and his cult abduct and indoctrinate children who have been "Chosen," using their bodies to unleash latent psychic energy to tear a hole in reality through the other members of his cult - all hooked on a conduit disguised as a miracle drug called Briten. The last attempt at this resulted in nearly two-thousand fatalities. Undeterred, Nero has his messenger Henry MacNamara killed and forcefully recruits another young child named Gregor - slaughtering his mother in front of him - and trying to use him in yet another attempt to destroy the universe, the final result which results in the torturous death of every member of his cult. Not even his own family is safe from his machinations; it's revealed that years before, Nero arranged the kidnapping of his own son Stefano and had him forcibly indoctrinated overseas for two years. Nero proves that even in a universe of nightmarish, eldritch horrors, humanity can be every bit as vile as the horrific gods they worship.

Looks very good, just a few minor things. For Alex Close, you have it potted Serial Rapist twice. For George Mackie it says "first degree burns" not "third degree", and for Annabel Skinner its got a d missing in "leaving the body for Brian to fin.. ".

Bison rewrite. Current entry.
- M. Bison is responsible for much of the evil in the franchise. Dictator of Shadaloo, Bison aspires for world domination and ultimate power. Once a talented martial artist, he killed his mentor and received the Psycho Power, kicking off his evil campaign. His atrocities include killing Chun-Li's father, Juri's parents, and leading to Charlie Nash's death and mutilation. He also kidnapped teenage girls and had his scientists brainwash them to be loyal assassins called Dolls. In an attempt to get a new vessel for his ailing body, M. Bison set his sights on Ryu. On one occasion, Bison forced Ryu to fight his best friend and rival, Ken, and, after beating Ryu himself, Bison subjected him to Psycho Power exposure to gain a grip on his mind, a move that even horrified Saget. A sociopathic Social Darwinist, Bison can and will dispose of allies who do not serve their purpose, such as Seth and rebellious Dolls. M. Bison is a man whose relentless ambition lets him do whatever he pleases to live on and fulfill his goals.
New entry.
- M. Bison is responsible for much of the evil in the franchise. Dictator of Shadaloo, Bison aspires for world domination and ultimate power. Once a talented martial artist, he killed his mentor and willingly cast away the good side of his soul, which became Rose, to pioneer the sinister Psycho Power. M.Bison killed Chun-Li's father, Dorai, during a mission to uncover the drug-trafficking arm of Shadaloo, something he taunts her about. Additionally, M. Bison killed Juri's parents, too, since her father was a lawyer in charge of prosecuting organized crime operations, after having Shadaloo kidnap the whole family, and her left eye was gravely wounded. He also kidnapped teenage girls and had his scientists brainwash them to be loyal assassins called Dolls. When Cammy rallies the Dolls against them, Bison calls them expendable and, because of their link to him, they will die if he does. In an attempt to get a new vessel for his ailing body, M. Bison set his sights on Ryu. On one occasion, Bison forced Ryu to fight his best friend and rival, Ken, and, after beating Ryu himself, Bison subjected him to Psycho Power exposure to gain a grip on his mind, a move that horrified even Saget. In a different instance, Charlie Nash confronts Bison near a waterfall buts gets shot and sent down, Bison uncaring, which confirms Shadaloo's corruption has reached even the military. Bison uses manipulation, threats, and coercion by force to move his plans along, resulting in unwilling participants or more victims on his list. Finally, allowing F.A.N.G. to head it, Bison intends to use seven Black Moons, a powerful satellites capable of causing havoc via electromagnetic pulse wave. The ensuing terror and chaos would fuel Bison's Psycho Power to a near godlike level, the horrific preview of which seen in one destroyed city and another burning with screaming people. A sociopathic Social Darwinist, M. Bison is a man whose relentless ambition lets him do whatever he pleases to live on and fulfill his goals.
Is that better?

I have a potential quote for the Quotes.Complete Monster page:
Dr. Wolper: Stop right there. This is a sensitive man, and I won't have him being harassed.
The Joker: That's all right. I want people to 'get me'.
Endocrine: All right, then.
The Joker: That's why I'm gonna kill everyone in this room.

Out of context it tells us nothing. There's also enough strawman political in that quote that I'd prefer we not use it even if it did fit (since it says more about Miller hating psychiatrists than it does about the actual character).
I'm gonna say "no" on Chef for the moment until we get additional confirmation.

How do we deal with Early-Installment Weirdness when judging a work's heinous standard? I was re-reading a book recently and was thinking of a possible (but not really great) example from it but the villain was so very out of place compared to the villains that came after that its incredibly jarring.
Okay, I have to voice a couple things about Chef.
The reason I was concerned about her was due to the rather lighthearted nature of the movie. Throughout the film, there tends to be a comedic element that detracts from Chef's villainy: when she first finds the trolls, there's a Toilet Humour joke thrown in where one of the trolls poops cupcakes. When she's voicing her plans to take over the kingdom, she refers to herself as 'he', leading to one of the trolls to think she's a guy. And the scene where she tries to get the king to eat one of the trolls is played largely for humor. And her treatment of Bridget the maid for the majority of the film is just standard Jerkass behavior, nothing particularly heinous.
Even near the climax, during the Darkest Hour when the trolls are rounded up, more emphasis is played on Creek's (the traitor troll) selling the trolls out, rather than on Chef's actions.
Throughout the movie, the story doesn't treat her as much more than a standard kids movie villain, and the conflict is wrapped up with the trolls singing, "Can't Stop the Feeling". I never got "monster" out of her, just a power-hungry villain.
Also, being banished from your kingdom for twenty years for something that wasn't your fault is a pretty valid excuse in my book.
Just a few things I'd like to point out.

Why so serious?Someone tried to add Queen Ileosa to the YMMV page for Pathfinder without bringing it here first. I've cut it. First off, didn't go through the thread. Second off, she doesn't count. Ileosa's a pawn of Kazavon, the actual contender within "Curse of the Crimson Throne". It's made clear that without him influencing her and altering her personality she would never be able to become remotely as bad as she does.
