During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

So what's the difference between Perotta
and Yates
, who don't count, and someone like Foyet
, who does; all 3 had abusive childhoods.
I may have to try and find the episode with Vasher.
Speaking of Foyet, possible quote?
->Hotch: You're greedy and narcissistic. You want the recognition...from the book...the fame...like (Ted) Bundy.
->George Foyet: I wanna be bigger than Bundy.
...
->Hotch: You're the serial killer.
->George Foyet: That's right.
Possible Law and Order quote:
->Lewis: (after telling Benson and Amaro in graphic detail what he did to one of his victims) A 60-year-old woman. She did things she never expected to do...Do you wanna hear how, in the evening, she said she would do anything as she begged for her life? Or how, in the morning, she begged me to take her out of her misery? Which do you think I enjoyed more?

I will give a late
to Demigra and Yung.
I have been a bit busy lately, but I did get 5 votes for the video game version of Brainiac I proposed, so I will do a write up on him:
- Justice League Heroes: After receiving a telepathic message from a meteor, promising him great power and knowledge if he can release the power within the meteor, Brainiac launches a complex scheme to get the equipment he needs. He creates a series of disasters to keep the Justice League busy. He has his robot minions attack random citizens, helps Queen Bee transform people into bee creatures, he hires the Key and Killer Frost to set off several nuclear weapons, he frees the White Martians so they can attack Earth and he frees Gorilla Grodd so he will use his Earthquake machine to destroy Gorilla City. Brainiac is willing to endanger millions of lives just as a distraction tactic, so the Justice League would too busy to stop his quest for power and knowledge.
The game doesn't really have an entry on this site, so I can't link this write up to anything, only the spin off game has an entry:

- Pokemon: The Master of Mirage Pokemon: Dr. Yung, AKA the Mirage Master, was a sociopathic mad scientist who specialized in creating Mirage Pokemon. His experiments were deemed too cruel by his peers note , and he was shut down.Vowing revenge, he dons the Mirage Master alter-ego after faking his own abduction, and he also kidnaps Profesor Oak. He tried to emotionally torture him into giving him his password to his PC database in the hopes of hacking into worldwide Pokemon centers. He also abuses, and eventually kills, his Mew Mirage, and he forcibly scans Pikachu's memory, thus injuring him. After he had finally gotten Oak to crack, he tries to kill him with his Mewtwo Mirage because he was no longer of use to him. Yung later planned on deploying missiles so that he could have a larger field for his Mirages, and he fully intended on releasing Mirage Mewtwo's power unto the world.

@Phantom Heartless 5: Here's a shortened version of Zant's entry.
- Zant is a sociopathic and power-hungry member of the Twili race described by the game as the "Usurper King" Once in line for the throne, Zant was passed over for Midna instead when his lust for power was made apparent. Blinded by greed, Zant readily accepted Ganondorf, posing as a god, offering the power to take the throne by force in exchange for letting Ganondorf escape the Twilight Realm. Using his newfound power, he transformed Midna into an imp, forcing her to flee her own kingdom. Zant then sealed away the Sols, the realm's only source of light, casting the land in darkness and transforming his race into Shadow Beasts. Having consolidated his power, Zant invaded Hyrule, feeling that the World of Light rightfully belonged to the Twili race. There, he executed Queen Rutela in front of her Zora subjects for resisting his rule, and froze the Zoras in ice to die. He then attacked Hyrule Castle and forced Princess Zelda to surrender under the threat of killing her people. He then spread Twilight all over Hyrule, rendering the people as mere spirits who could only watch as the Shadow Beasts tore up the kingdom unopposed. When Link and Midna dispel the Twilight, Zant confronts them and uses a Shadow Crystal to force Link to remain as a wolf permanently. He tries to convince Midna to join his cause and when rejected, nearly kills her by exposing her to Lanayru's light. Though he claims to have the Twili's best interests at heart, it's made readily apparent that they are the hollow words of a cruel, selfish, and insane egomaniac whose true madness is revealed when faced with the prospect of defeat.

Oh yeah, I put in it the sandbox then forget about it.
- Reunion
:
- The main antagonist, an OC named Nathanael Butler, starts off just looking like a regular jerk, closing gyms and hitting on women. When Lt. Surge refuses to close his gym and starts a fight, Butler lets one of his pokemon drown to prove a point. He then tries to have Surge's trial rigged with Frollo's psychic powers, and then have him killed in his cell. When Surge is aquited, he tries rape Misty. After that he goes on a rampage in the rocket base to obtain the ultimate weapon, Deoxys. He convinces Ka to have sex in exchange for Shi's life, only to have Machamp break his neck. Once he obtains Deoxys, he kills his superior Claude, and then rampages throughout the near town of Tohjo Falls hanging people. During the final battle, he tries to trap or heroes in Lotus Eater Machines.
- Rocket Elite Frollo, a psychic who kills thousands of people and Pokemon and assimilates their souls into himself to increase his psychic powers. During the raid on the rocket base, he kills Elle by driving a spoon into her chest and Watson by smashing his head. He tries to use these powers to rig Surge's trial. After this fails he tries to absorb the Elite Four.
Hey I would like to bring up a villain I proposed a while ago.
I think I got 4 votes for Time Master from Freedom Force, I would like 1 or 2 more yes votes before I do a write up on him:

Thanks for the explanation Lighty. Any thoughts on those two quotes?
I made a writeup for Dr. Yung:
- Pokémon: The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon: Dr. Yung, AKA the Mirage Master, was a sociopathic mad scientist who viewed real Pokemon as being imperfect. It was his disdain towards real Pokemon that inspired him to create Mirage Pokemon. His experiments were deemed too cruel by his peers note , and he was shut down. Vowing revenge, he dons the Mirage Master alter-ego after faking his own abduction, and he also kidnaps Profesor Oak. He tried to emotionally torture him into giving him his password to his PC database in the hopes of hacking into worldwide Pokemon centers. He also abuses, and eventually kills, his Mew Mirage (which he viewed as a failed experiment), and he forcibly scans Pikachu's memory, thus injuring him. When he was defeated, he chose to walk back into the burning laboratory rather than to suffer the consequences for his actions. Lacking regard for natural and artificial life, Yung was only motivated by his own selfish goals.

Good, except we should probably add how he created Mirage Pokemon because he didn't like the imperfections of real Pokemon, how he deemed the Mew Mirage a flawed specimen, and how he'd rather seemingly die than face justice for his deeds.
I'm also now wanting answers to something but am too afraid to ask the question.

New possible candidate: Terry Hawkins from 1977' Last House On The Dead End Street
Who is he ? / What does he do ?: An ex convict released from jail after having served time for drug charges. He decides to make snuff films and sell'em, believing that audience today want something more. He uses an abandoned college for the setting and gathers round some psychotic and sadistic men and women as his crew and henchmen while lying to the producers that the movies are all fake. His first victim is a blind man whom two of the crew women lure in the builing. Hawkins then personally strangles him while wearing a Zardos mask and having the whole action filmed. He sleeps with the pornography director's wife, Nancy, which later rapes after he showed her the blind man murder's film and confessing it's all real. He kills a young actress, first stigmatizing her across her chest and then slashing her throat. He beats the pornography director to death and later dismembers Nancy's legs with an hackshaw before eviscerating her with hedge clippers.
He shows the film executive the corpse of the blind man and welcomes him "back to edge", He captures him after a chase and forces him to perform an oral sex on a dismembered goat hoof held between his henchwoman's legs. He then kills him with a power drill. As the movies ends a voiceover says that Hawkins and his minions are all captured and put in a penitantiary. All the crimes mentioned until here are all filmed by Hawkins and his gang, of course.
Redeeming Traits: Nope. He's motivated by greed and sadism. The crew is made by horrible human beings too, but Hawkins he's the worst one since he lets 'em do hideous things to innocent people and morevoer he takes part in the action himself.
Final Verdict: I know, I know, we mentioned several snuff film - type villains before, but I still think he deserves a mention.
