During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

By the way, I was wondering does anyone count in the Film Adaptation of the series?
Pointer
Edited by Ordeaux26 on Jan 1st 2022 at 1:22:47 AM
to the Scorpion King, Odalia Blight, Alador Blight, XANA, the Professor, Tony Amato, Sean Carroon, and Ron Hertz/"Pointer".
to Ivan Landsness, Reverse-Flash/Eobard Thawne, the Frieza quote (doesn't sound heinous enough), and Alan. Cut the Frieza quote, the Babidi quote, the Goku Black quote, the Father quote, the Ridley quote, the "Boss" quote, and the Dark Marik quote.
For Duke Sayn, I'll wait for the full summary before making a conclusion.
I also wouldn't mind a reevaluation on Walter Finch.
Happy New Years, everybody.
And to get this out of the way immediatly, here is the proposal for Coretech represantative
Who is CoreTech Industries Representative?
Appearing late in the game, after Logan saved Nicole, Representative at first thanks Logan for that and offers him another job, revealing that "Pointer" (who works for her and CoreTech company) plans to unleash the virus on Terbon to wipe out all colonists there, although she hides the fact that this is on her and CoreTech's orders and instead frames Zetrox for it. In reality sending Logan into a trap to die, with "Pointer" arranging for everything, Representative is only later revealed to be the real mastermind behind "Pointer's" actions. Not caring later on when "Pointer" killed Nicole.
After Logan saved the colonists and killed "Pointer", Representative contacted Logan again, offering him two millions if he takes "Pointer's" job and slaughters the colonists, solely so CoreTech could take over the mines on Terbon and dig up Chrome minerals (which worth a fortune). CoreTech Respresentative is the most evil option in possible endings, since unlike her, Zetrox only orders Logan to scare off the colonists (which would keep them alive, only being forced to relocate and lose their job) and the third oprion (the colonists themselves) are literally the only good option, since protecting them is heroic thing to do.
If Logan doesn't choose her side, CoreTech will fall before entering "battlefield" since they are being charged and arrested by the police and battle only takes place between Zetrox and the colonists. If Logan chooses CoreTech's side, Carrie will abandon him on the spot, and Logan then will be forced to kill every single colonist he sees and destroy their base, with CoreTech's Representative then congratulating him on "the job well done" and offers him "Pointer's" place as their chief agent, as regretful Logan only stares and the atrocity he commited and can't say anything.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
None. While she most of the times reffers to her orders as orders from CoreTech, she is the only high ranking member of CoreTech that we see and the only one who gives offers and commands, as well as the one manipulating Logan into a trap. The game frames her as "the face" of CoreTech and she is the most active member in the company, who eagerly pushes for mass murder and various atrocities to be commited, even when there is no need for them.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Definitly the most vile member of all corporations in the game, being the one, who assists Pointer in his attempt to wipe out the colonists and later on attempts to bribe and blackmail Logan to do the same. As said before, Zetrox are assholes, but they are determined to only drive away the colonists and see no point in killing them, preffering to simply scare them and leave at least most of them alive, even when having the means to kill them and threatening to do so, they will stand down when colonists surrender, letting them leave. CoreTech's Representative meanwhile immediatly pushes for mass murder, not only never considering any other option, but not even allowing Logan to do anything else.
Final Verdict?
What do you think?
I submit Dark Samus from [[Fanfic/Super RWBY Sisters Super RWBY Sisters]] after her actions in Super RWBY Galaxy 2: Galactic Conquest Prime. She's a sadist who takes great pleasure in torturing people like Ruby and the gang and does things like infect Bowser and Doomguy with Phazon, shoves a Poison Mushroom down Gloria's throat just to see what it does and as of the latest chapter, wants to kill 4/5 of the ships with evacuees.
Hi! you can't just say "I submit [blank]" and expect us to instantly consider it. Please follow the EP format.
@First Aid Rules I apologize, I was stressed. If you need help, there's the template at the top of the page in the folder

Would anyone mind if I take Netflix's First Kill. Its a vampire show about a vampire girl trying to get you know her first kill...omly for her intended target to be a vampire hunter. It's based off a short story I read.
Does anyone want to split ?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."

So to clarify, is him blowing up the plane going to kill other people than his target or not? I'm confused by the "zero chance for collateral damage" bit.
