During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Dracula
Yes to Dracula
Regarding TMNT, i always found it weird that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles page has three part image, can one of these parts be deleted to make it look less long, i think the second and third part will work fine by themselves?
Hey, happy yes to TMNT Dracula.
And thanks to Scraggle for this one!
What's the work?
Shadow of the Comet is an old school adventure game by Infrogames in 1993.Hero John Parker is a visitor to the town of Illsmouth to document the passing of Halley's comet....except the last guy who came in 1834 went insane and Parker soon discovers and sinister conspiracy and dark cult afoot...and the chief human villain? The sorcerer Narackamous.
Who is Narackamous?
A member of the Mi'kmaq tribe, often written as Micmac, Narackamous is a powerful sorcerer and servant of the the "Night Howler" Nyarlathotep...70 years before the game, Narackamous led the worship of the Old Ones and instituted blood sacrifice. In massive quantities, seeking to call the Old Ones to destroy the world....seemingly stopped and defeated, Narackamous survived and hid himself along with the cult.
Carrying on human sacrifice, as he had for centuries prior...Narackamous is old, so old that he remembers the days before the settlers and colonists came, and he's been conducting these dark rites all the while so he can pave the way for Cthulhu and the rest. Parker encounters him on a ritual, causing Narackamous to fly into a furious wrath at the interloper...
Now, the cult is operating with numerous murders, including Parker's friend Jugg. Parker barely escapes the sorcerer, who taunts him with visions of the coming apocalypse (where he believes he'll be spared).
Upon learning the truth, Parker takes the fight to the cult itself, cornering Narackamous and encasing him in a ring of fire, before taking a bow and arrow to piece the cornered sorcerer's black heart, even though Narackamous has put the plans for the apocalypse in motion...despite this one ending surprisingly happy for a Lovecraft game.
Heinousness?
A mass murdering cultist for centuries? Multiple murders? Trying to cause the apocalypse twice? Yeah, Narackamous hits it perfectly.
Mitigating issues?
Yeah, right. The guy is a wrathful, shrieking monster of a cultist, hated and feared by everyone who knows him except his cult. And he's doing everything for personal gain, believing the Old Ones will spare and exalt him. Nope, nothing positive to him.
Conclusion?
That's a bingo
Yes to Narackamous. Should this go under S, or should be use its current title Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the Comet?
If the latter, that'd make the fourth game with Call of Cthulhu (along with Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth; Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game; and Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land), and I don't think ANY are related. Though honestly? I'm thinking about lumping them under a tree.

to Dracula. Even with the fact that the heinous standard by the time he appears is abysmally high, Dracula still stands out with his overall kill count which is presented in a much more twisted way compare to the kill count that surpasses his, i.e Kraang Prime's.
to Dr. Mueller, Dr. Kruger and Narackamous also.

Something like this:
- Call of Cthulhu license (licensed by Chaosium), by release date:
- Infogrames:
- Shadow of the Comet: Narackamous
- Prisoner of Ice: Ernst Dietrich
- Dark Corners of the Earth: Robert Marsh
- The Wasted Land: Docktor Kaul
- The Official Video Game:
- Infogrames:
Dark Corners of the Earth was
(at least licensed).
Wasted Land DEFINITELY was
.
Comet was
, and I think Ice was too.
As for the official video game? I can't find anything, but I'd guess there had to be SOME involvement.
