During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

In general I'm also gonna just suggest if anyone wants to see a candidate going up, you indicate in your own vote on the effort post. Putting things like "You decide" or "Unsure" turn the whole thing into a neutral post and are generally just used to request opinions and feedback. Even if I'm sure you don't mean to sound like "Why would you think that? That makes no sense!" it makes it seem like there's sudden emotional weight attached to the post coming out of nowhere. If you feel like a candidate ultimately counts by subverting all of their mitigating qualities, being heinous enough, etc. then indicating such in the verdict section is something that should be done.
This candidate was, looking back, in no way a appropriate candidate. I was genuinely unsure of Ana, but I rushed her EP and my reaction was not acceptable. I should've burned the whole operation, or waited for someone to respond, but no.
I'm taking a break and moving full-time to Magnificent Bastard. This isn't a one-off meltdown message, I made a choice while thinking to myself. If anyone wants to call this bluffing, then maybe it is. But I can't overlook my past fuckups and honestly say I want to stay.

Irendri, Frank, Darkseid and Dracula
So I have a question for those who also has played/scene Valkyria Chronicles. I was wondering what you guys think of Heinrich Belgar from Valkyria Chronicles 4? Don't have a problem with him having redeeming qualities, closest is his respect for his former partner Albert but considered he had him and his family murdered and blamed him for it by betraying their plans, that doesn't slide. The problem is whether he breaches the heinousness, because he got steep competition... however I think he's also the only that force his own allies in committing suicide for failure through Mind Rape which they are made aware despite they themselves begging not to.
Allow me, take my hand and never let go, promise? - GiselleWell, since the previous proposal for Zaboera is plagiarised from his page on Villains Wiki , guess I, the user who made his page, will propose him here then.
What is the work?
One day, a baby was drifted to an island inhabited by monsters, one of the monsters, Brass, then rises the baby into Dai, a kid who desires to be a hero, unluckily, the world indeeds need a hero, and its up to Dai and his friends to save the day.
Who is Zaboera?
Zaboera is the leader of the Mystic Legion, one of the legion of the Dark Army. He is an old short Darkling that is an expert at spells, and is also infamous for his trickery..
What has Zaboera done?
Zaboera made his first appearance by breaking through the barrier of Dermline Island to kidnap Brass, Dai’s adoptive grandfather. He brainwashed Brass and convinced Crocodine, the honourable general of Furrfang Legion into using Brass as an advantage to defeat Dai. While Crocodine reluctantly accepted this trick, he is still defeated by Dai, and Popp freed Brass from the brainwashing.
Later, Zaboera appeared and tried to convince Hyunckel, the general of Undead Army to let him cast a love-binding spell to Maam, to which Hyunckel angrily beat Zaboera up. Soon, Zaboera would be present when Hadlar, the Dark Commander is planning their next move, where the Dark Army planned to launch an attack at Baruji Island to kill the heroes, Zaboera would be present and attempted to use instant death spell to kill Baduck, but failed when they were attacked by a redeemed Crocodine. Crocodine attempted to kill Zaboera, but Zaboer casted Morph on one of his minion so Crocodine would accidentally kill that minion instead, Zaboera then fled.
Later, after Baran, the general of the Dragon Legion left the Dark Army, Zaboera and Hadlar ambushed the heroes when they were asleep by releasing sleeping gas. Zaboera paralysised Popp by impersonating Maam to lower his alertness. However, Matoriv cut off Zaboera’s hand and nearly overpowered Hadlar. Hadlar forced Zaboera to help him who is trying to sneak away. They would have killed Matoriv if not because of Dai waking up and blasting them away. Zaboera tried to abandon a wounded Hadlar and flee, but was forced by Hadlar to make him stronger.
Soon, Zaboera began the development of hyperdemon and transformed his son, Zamza into one, sending Zamza to fight Dai to collect the battle data. Zamza was killed, to which Zaboera shown no sadness about it.
Later, Hadlar was transformed into a hyperdemon, and Zaboera, feeling angry for not being given credits, decided to kill the heroes to be praised by Vearn, however, Zaboera was captured by Hym, one of Hadlar’s guard, who had Zaboera imprisoned.
However , Vearn has secretly put a Black Core, a magical explosive in Hadlar’s body, it later exploded, while Baran sacrificed himself to lower the destruction brought by it, Zaboera was freed by the explosion. He later betrayed Hadlar when he is attacking Vearn, asking Vearn to kill him, Hadlar’s guard Block took the blow from Vearn instead and saved Hadlar and other guards.
Soon, Hyunckel and Crocodine were captured and were ready to be executed publicly so that the heroes would be lured out. After Hyunckel and Crocodine where freed, they battled Zaboera and Mystvearn’s minions with the heroes. The minions were defeated, Zaboera once again tried to find excuses to sneak away, only for Myst to tell Zabo to do things himself instead using other people as stepping stones before leaving. Surrounded by the heroes, Zaboera suddenly used some magic balls to kill his surviving minions to combine their corpse into the hyperzombie, with the hyperzombie, Zaboera gained the power of a hyperdemon without becoming one himself, which was his initial plan for the whole time.
With the hyperzombie, Zaboera easily overpowered the heroes, however, it was destroyed by Lon Berk. Zaboera tried to crawl away as he used up all magic and is wounded, however, he was caught by Crocodine, Zaboera then tried to fake remorse so that he could use his toxin to brainwash Crocodine, only for Crocodine to be expecting this and killed Zaboera.
Heinous Standard
In the manga, there are Vearn, who is an extremely powerful darkling that desired to blow the surface of the world up to let sunlight shines into the demon realm and even killed team pet Gomechan, Killvearn who is an assassin that really enjoys to slowly kill his victims and Flazzard, the ruthless Blizzblaze general who had his minions to kill everything in a kingdom he conquered. As for Zaboera? Sure, his body counts is pretty low, however, unlike the above three, Zaboera is not that powerful (Vearn is even called as “God of Makai” due to his immense power) and thus has less resources, and Zaboera still managed to stand out by his scummy ways such as brainwashing Brass, having no problems in getting his own minions killed to save his own skin, coldly use his son as a tool (even directly telling Zamza that he is just a tool to him) and killed his minions purposely to use their corpse to create the hyperzombie, which, in the manga no one is that good at being such a Bad Boss when compared to Zaboera, as a result, Zaboera definitely stand out in his own way.
Mitigating Factors
None, Zaboera is a scum from head to toe and is a Hate Sink
Final Thoughts
It’s is a pity that on here I can’t upload my photoshop of Zaboera’s face being pasted Shou Tucker’s body on the proposal like what I did on Villains Wiki.

I think Iike Gundam and Dragon Quest too muchYes to Zaboera, from Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (you're welcome, ACW).
Base on how the current anime is going, pretty sure Zaboera’s action will be the same in the 2020 anime. And as for the three characters I mentioned in the Heinous Standard, yes, they are potential qualifiers
