During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

@Klavice: We got a female version of Lincoln Loud. So there's that.
And yeah, it's possible for those kinds of entertainment to have fanfics with a CM in them. But it'd probably have to be an original character set within the canon universe, not a canon character that gets Adaptational Villainy.
I write stories and shiz. You can read them here. And believable within canon, unless it's an AU. There's quite a few fics I've read that have Serial Killer or Serial Rapists that would otherwise fit the bill, but would unlikely appear in the actual show. There's a Loud House fanfic villain based off of Norman Daniels, and a Big Time Rush fanfic villain strait out of Criminal Minds.
Anyways.
Gregg.
And
Monkey Fist.

"It's like...a cliff, and if I do it, I'm just gonna...fall." "I think we're already falling."
Piper, Xu, Aido, Gregg, & Fist
BTW, what the hell was dirty pooh? that concept sounds so bad I kinda want to see it
Also, I read the Kid's World fanfic for Inside Out and my reaction was "what the hell am I reading" (tying in with the fanfic thing)

G. Gordon Gregg
Monkey Fist.
Xu Ping An. How is the book? Have to admit, it sounds just as grim as I always imagined a Kyoshi's story would be
Aido, Gregg and Monkey Fist.
By the way, I wonder why light novels, manhua, and manhwa are covered in the Anime & Manga subpages. I'd like to make sections for them on the Other Media subpage because I think not all of them have been adapted into anime and manga.
Frolaytia X Qwenthur of Heavy Object
Piper, Gred, Fist and Aido.
Someone has edited the CM entries here without permission.
IPP Wick Check created.Copy the original entries and replace the edited entries with them, then leave a message saying that it is not allowed to make changes to Complete Monster entries.
Did you have to do this?

Humanity is defined by its absurdity, and I am no exception.I sent a message. I forgot to say please in the first message, so I sent another message saying “please”.
I wasn't sure if anyone else had messaged the troper.
About the unapproved edit.

I was covering my ass so that it was understood I was not trying to be rude. My initial message was just "Don't edit Complete Monster entries without permission from the thread. Too late, I realized I forgot to say please, so I sent another message to cover my bases.

Berserk Button: misusing Berserk Button
Ah, I remember my first brush with unapprovedly editing a CM. It was the Sal/Syake-san entry. Come a long way since then, I have.
One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord.Good Men, good men, whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
...
...Nope. That shit still don't sound right.
Bad Boys for Life is the third installment in the Bad Boys series, arguably the one set of movies made by Michael Bay that I will die defending. And while Michael Bay isn't the director this time around, there's still plenty of asses, shootouts, explosions, bullets, and dead bodies to keep your everyday action junkie satisfied. This installment still focuses on Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey, albeit now they're older, with the former on the verge of retiring. However, just as the duo consider settling down for the rest of their lives, these two antagonists come along and start making their lives much more complicated.
And they are Isabel Aretas and Armando Armas, a Villainous Mother-Son Duo of Mexican gangsters. Long story short, while they do a bunch of nasty things such as assassinating Captain Howard (damn I hated that), they're not as bad as Fouchet, or arguably Johhny Tapia. One could argue and make a case that they are, but even so? Isabel and Armando genuinely love each other, and Armando accidentally takes a bullet for Mike after discovering that he's his father and that Isabel kept it from him.
So nobody counts here.
I write stories and shiz. You can read them here.

I don't even wanna know what Dirty Potter is.
As for the question: Sure. We have several Disney Animated Canon stuff.
