During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. "
to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

I don't get it. Why don't we need images on works to duplicate on image page?
And I also have Lord Brevon.
And of course, Ramsay Bolton. We need to combine these
◊ two
◊ into one like with Palpatine. Unless we can use this one.

Welcome to the world of greatest media!I recently realized something about one of my slightly older candidates, Bagura from Bomberman. Now, he absolutely still counts, but when writing that effortpost I didn't realize that Super Bomberman R is a franchise reboot, making it so Bagura and the Bagura in that game, named Buggler, are technically seperate chraracters. Because of this I think we should split Buggler's part of Bagura's entry off from Bagura's, giving him his own entry.
They both still count, Bagura has multiple cases of attempted omnicide on his record still and Buggler turns the sun inside out, trying to turn it into a black hole to suck the enitre solar system into. It's not that they don't count, but should I rewrite and split their entries?

New proposal, from Hack-O-Lantern.
Who's the candidate?
Grandpa {who has no other name) Drindle, a Satanist cult leader who wants to corrupt his grandson Tommy into the family business.
What does he do?
We first see Grandpa when he gives Tommy a pumpkin and pentagram necklace. Tommy's father goes to confront Grandpa, and threatens to beat him up if he doesn't stop. Gramps doesn't take kindly to this, and has a cultist bash his head in with a hammer. He then burns the scrub's body in a car to Make It Look Like an Accident.
13 years later, Grandpa decides the time is right for Tommy to grow into his evil successor. After watching Grandpa promise real power to her son, Tommy's mom goes to confront him. He brings up the fact that he raped her on her wedding night to produce Tommy, and threatens to do it again if she continues to stand in his way.
Grandpa comes across Tommy, who's getting some supplies for sexy times with a Ms. Fanservice cult member. Needing his grandson pure for the ceremony, Gramps dons a Devil and goes to the girl's house. Thinking he's Tommy, she lets him in and tries to do the sex. Grandpa then buries a pitchfork in her face.
The boyfriend of Grandpa's granddaughter is walking through a cemetery, when Grandpa attacks him. He runs away, and falls into a mass grave of the cult's previous victims. As he tries to climb out, Grandpa chops a shovel into his head.
Later that night, said boyfriend's body is found by the granddaughter, who thinks Tommy did it due to a fight the two got into earlier. She goes to confront him, and Gramps has her hung on the altar. He tries to get Tommy to sacrifice her, but he realizes what he's getting into, and the siblings flee. Giving up on Tommy, Grandpa decides to go a different route.
Now, the local teenagers are having a giant party, and our protagonists head there. Grandpa follows them, and tries to kill them both. However, he's stopped by his daughter, who's completely snapped from trying to protect her kids for so long, and Railing Kills him. As Grandpa passed into Hell, he casts a corruption spell on his other grandson to take up his evil. Why he didn't do this to Tommy, I can't say.
Heinousness?
Only competition is his daughter, who has... Two murders. Next to a bunch of murder, incestuous rape and corrupting his into grandson into sociopathy. Pass.
Mitigating factors?
He acts loving to his grandson, but it's such obvious manipulation that Tommy is an idiot for believing any of it. This is proven when Tommy leaves the cult, and Grandpa kicks him out of his life.
Verdict?
, and a high recommendation if you are a connisseur of the So Bad, It's Good.
Other images are perfect, but I found better
◊ for Mola Ram. And what about Ramsay. Do we combine the two when he kills Rickon Stark, or do we just use the patricide one?
Edit: Just had a PM conversation with Scraggle and he told me those images would be spoilers so let's use this one
◊. While this is one of Ramsay's less evil deeds, it establishes him as a monster that he is so it might work best.

Welcome to the world of greatest media!I honestly don't see much of an issue with the current Go T picture.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% Scandinavian
It is not meant to be a replacement. It's meant to go on this page
.
"No" to Drindle. Nothing in that post indicates he clears baseline heinousness for the slasher genre. Murder, rape, psychological manipulation, those are core aspects of the genre, not unique traits that only he possesses, and as one of those granting an upvote noted, his bodycount is low by genre standards to boot.
We have rules in place meant to prevent every slasher movie villain from making the list. This guy is bog standard slasher movie villain and he should not be on the list.
Write-up:
- Kingdom of Heaven: Guy du Lusignan heads up a faction of knights who chafe at not being allowed to make war on "the Saracens". Together with Reynald de Chatillon he massacres a Muslim caravan, hoping to provoke war with Sultan Saladin, but is foiled when King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem persuades Saladin to relent and jails Reynald. Following Baldwin's death, Guy frees Reynald and sends him out to waylay and butcher another caravan, this one including Saladin's own sister. When Saladin sends an envoy to request the return of his sister's body, Guy murders the envoy in view of his party then sends his head back to Saladin as a declaration of war. Ignoring the advice of those who have fought the Muslims before, Guy marches his entire army into the desert without sufficient food or water, damning all those who disagree with this plan as cowards, and gloating about the glory he will attain when he bests Saladin. When his army is killed almost to a man, and Reynald executed in front of him by Saladin, Guy refuses to accept any responsibility, blaming everyone but himself for the way that things have worked out.
Guy was voted up. Reynald was more close cut. If anyone has the count on Reynald I can alter the above write-up to include him, or do a separate one for him.

Question, why aren't Hatred protagonist, Emperor Palpatine, Scorpio killer, Anjuro Katagiri, Johan Liebert, as well Pierre de Fayet not on CM images page? They are on the main pages for works, but not on image links. Why?
And I have some CM images.
I know he was a very divided candidate but since we agreed to keep Terence D'arby, here is an image.
Or this resolution.
